I was driving to New York with my friend to hang out for my birthday and my car stopped on the New Jersey expressway. I was so upset, because I just brought the car and had it checked. I searched Google to find the nearest mechanic and I came across Nelson Auto Repair .I spoke with the owner Nelson on the phone and he told me to bring my car in and he would look at it. Once my car arrived he took time to look at my car to locate the problem and took time to stay later to tell me what was wrong . It was my starter and all the auto parts stores was closing. I was stressed out and thought my birthday trip was ruined .He gracious enough to take me and my friend to the train station so that we could take the path to New York. He told me he would call the junk yards and auto part stores in the morning and get my car fixed .As promised 9am he called got me prices fixed my car .He came back to the train station to pick us back up to bring us to a well running car. I definitely recommend this shop, because the owner really knows how to make his customers feel valuable .

I'm editing my review based on my second experience. This shop/man deserves a 10 star rating. My second experience with this mechanic shop and Nelson the owner: This man is amazing! Not only as a mechanic but also as a human being and his dedication to customer service. While I was away and traveling I left my vehicle attended by my family. They called me to tell me that my car would not start. Hence, being that we are in North Jersey and they have alternate parking rules...I was worried about being ticketed and/or towed. I did not know what to do. So I decided to contact Nelson who had previously worked on my vehicle and did an amazing job. I explained to him briefly that my vehicle did not want to start and I needed the vehicle to not only be serviced but also find a way to get it to his shop. I suggested a tow truck to him and he agreed. However, this man came personally to my house, picked up the keys and vehicle, took my vehicle to his shop, serviced it, and did not charge me a dime because the issue was still under warranty. Yes people, you read that correctly!!! HE DID NOT CHARGE ME A DIME, A CENT, etc. And on top of that he returned my vehicle back to my house because I am still traveling and couldn't physically pick up the vehicle. And if that wasn't enough...it's a holiday weekend (ie Memorial Day Weekend). Listen readers, this is beyond exceptional service. If you are ever in the Newark area and surrounding areas, and need your vehicle serviced, stop in your tracks (no pun intended) and take your vehicle to Nelson Auto Repair. Not only does he do quality work, but he also has outstanding customer service. I was left speechless! Thanks Nelson! And lastly, the last time I was there he had a Bentley in his shop that he was working on. Yes a Bentley...that just shows what type of service this place provides. ................................................................. Based on views, I am taking my vehicle to this shop. I will be updating with the process from beginning to end results. Update: Owner of the shop is very transparent. He updated me on the process with before and after pics. Gave me options for the best and less expensive remedies. Kept all old parts he removed for my viewing and inspection without me asking to do so. Also, gave me warranty on parts. Definitely recommend!!! Check him out! Ask for Nelson!

Took my car for a check engine light emitting misfire codes, and Nelson was able to isolate the problem. They properly mounted my ignition coil as another shop fail to do so, as well as replace a burnt fuse. In return, Nelson did not charge me anything for the brief service. Very generous staff, I would highly recommend this shop to anyone looking for honest work done on their car!

Great garage, they were extremely helpful the whole time. I called 5 different shops before Nelson's and they all told me it would be impossible to get my car fixed that day. They looked at my car and within an hour and a half they ordered the part to the shop and put it in for me at about half the price I thought it would be for an emergency repair. The staff was friendly the whole time as well
