Called for a quote to rebuild a starter. Tried selling a rebuilt one for $299. Rebuild it there for $250. OUCH Being we just got hung up with the manufacturer, priced at $219 brand new, trying to support a local business by calling here. We love supporting local businesses but when prices are gouged like this, come on... let's be reasonable. They are online for $83. This is ridiculous. Went from friendly to snide/rude as soon as I brought up the price gouging. Be fair with people and people will be fair with you.

Tldr; highly recommend Panama Alternator and Starter:) Joey and the auto mechanics here have always been the best. I've gone to them many times over the years and always call them first with any car issues - they are the most trustworthy repair shop I know. Not only that, but they are also very kind and quick with the work - and if it can't be done quickly, they are clear with their communication about that. For example, years ago I had a car with wild issues, always. It didn't have power steering for some reason that I can't remember, but I do remember to fix it was about $1000 and it wasn't the power steering pump (I couldn't afford that so I just drove it without power steering). One day, my car started making this noise that could only be described as a noise straight from hell; I was sure my car was a goner and also sure everyone next to me in traffic was beyond annoyed. Took it here to Joey, talked to him, and turns out, it was my power steering pump - so they just cut the line for me (something like that) and charged me $50. Didn't even bother asking me if I wanted to replace the pump etc (since that wasn't why my power steering wasn't working) or try to sell me on anything. This really made me trust them more than I already did. Just today, I had to get my car towed there with unknown problems - ended up being the starter, they had it replaced before they closed:)

These guys are awesome. Very, very impressed with every interaction from start to finish. They were extremely helpful in troubleshooting the issue, got us in right away, fixed the problem, and emphasized excellent customer service throughout the experience. Furthermore, the pricing was fair and reasonable. And as If that wasn’t enough, I later found that they went above and beyond in fixing things in the vehicle that they clearly didn’t have to (prior to the visit my truck hood would slam shut, and they must have adjusted something cause it now closes slow and smooth!). I want to bring all my vehicles to them so they can run through them all! Very impressed, so glad to see there are still honest, extra-milers in the world! Thank you!!!

Super friendly family owned business, I needed a very weird starter solenoid for a boat starter, something I would have bet 100$ no where would have one in stock, and they had it! I was in a bind, needing this to keep my business operational, and 20 min in the shop and they had me rolling! The customer service goes back to the way things used to be, they treat you like friends and definitely know their stuff! From now on all my starter and alternator needs will be through Panama Alternator and starter!

This place is great! Fast service and fair pricing. I have used this shop for several things over the years now from starters and alternators to winch motors. 6, 12, and 24 volt. I tend to work on alot of older "oddball" stuff that i feel most shops would turn away, but Joey and his crew are always willing to give it a shot and are very knowledgeable and will do what they can to get you back on the road one way or another! Friend told me that this is the place to get your starter check. Drove from out of town to have my golf cart starter checked out. Gentlemen & staff was very friendly and offered to take a look at it and within 2 hrs it was repaired. Not as expensive as I figured it would cost. Very pleased and will recommend and return if need arise.
