I’ve been a customer at this Pep Boys for over 4 years and never had an issue until my most recent visit for an oil change. The bill was noticeably higher than usual, so I reviewed in detail. I saw a $50 charge for a “fleet vehicle assessment” — on top of the free vehicle assessment that is normally included. When I asked about it, the associate (Justin) didn’t know what it was and had to ask the assistant manager (Leo). I explained that I did not want the service, but was told it could not be removed unless the manager approved — and the manager, who I never actually saw, refused. The sales team’s handling of the situation felt unprofessional and pushy, as I was essentially forced into paying for a service I didn’t request. When I came back later to pick up my car and asked again to speak with the manager, I was told he had already left. I left very disappointed and will need to find a new place for service.

I don't normally do this but I really want to give a shout out to Pep Boys. Chasing wildlife, I normally average about 1,000 miles a week in the Everglades which is 10,000 square miles in the mud, flooded roads, dirt roads and bushwhacking so my truck gets it's share of wear and tear as well as abuse. Shocks, tires, drive train, suspension, belts, compressors, alternators and everything else are subjected to extreme conditions. I've tried a few mechanics but had issues, and then I came across Pep Boys in Calle Ocho, Miami. They are a little far from my house but they are amazing. They are like my pit crew, and typically can fix anything the same day and do great work at a reasonable price. Everyone there is very friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable, and honest. My worst fear is breaking down 30 miles from the nearest paved road at 2 am (when the panthers come out) being surrounded by alligators. I've been depending on them for the last eight years to keep me moving and they have never let me down. I now have logged over 350,000 miles on the truck and it runs as well as the day I bought it.

Waste of my time and money. Three days in a row with an appointment and a call saying that there’s no mechanic available to look at my car. Cost me $$$ in Ubers and they have had my car for no reason. No effort to make it right, taking the truck to GM Auto Tech instead.

I visited the Pep Boys in Little Havana on 8th Street today. I had an issue with my brakes on my Ram 1500 truck. I kept that truck after my husband's passing and it is very special to me and in other places I have ran into people that take advantage of you when they see that you are a female and they think you do not know much about trucks Etc. But in this case I was helped by a young man named Joshua who was very honest did not try to sell me anything I did not need and he and the other young man that work there gave me additional information that I needed but again they did not try and push me into selling something and they did not exaggerate anything they were helpful and they were honest. Very refreshing in this world. He also helped me find savings and coupons and gave me a military discount without giving me any type of runaround, again something you don't usually get. The mechanic also came out and gave me some tips on things to do in the future. I am very grateful to Joshua and the team at Pep Boys and not only will I continue going to them and only them but I will recommend them to all my friends and family. THANK YOU!

I had a very disappointing experience at this Pep Boys location. Here’s the situation: I had just taken my car (10,000 miles) into the Kia dealership the day before for routine inspection and maintenance. They assured me everything was in perfect condition, including the tires. Later that evening, I ended up with a flat tire. Since most mechanics were closed, I made an 8 a.m. appointment at Pep Boys. Because my Kia doesn’t come with a spare, I used the manufacturer’s provided sealant kit to get the car drivable and brought it in. The first thing the Pep Boys employee told me was that all four of my tires were in the “yellow danger zone.” That didn’t add up since the dealership had just checked them the day before and said they were perfect. Still, I let them take the car back. About 30 minutes later, they came out and told me that because I had used the sealant, the entire tire would need to be replaced. This was frustrating for two reasons: (1) That would have been a very important question to ask me upfront before even starting the inspection, and (2) it felt like a red flag that the only solution offered was a full replacement. I declined their recommendation and took the car to another mechanic (Dixie Auto Service), who was able to patch the tire with no problem. Long story short: think twice before going to this Pep Boys unless you’re prepared to be told you need four new tires. My experience left me with little confidence in their honesty or transparency.

One of the worst automotive experiences I’ve had for repairs. I took my 2018 Jaguar in for service consisting of installing two front tires, alignment, and an oil change. I won’t talk about how just because it was a Jaguar the price for the oil change went up $130 to over $200. They broke one of my lug nuts on the car and then stopped working on it and refused to fix or continue the repair, resulting in me having to spend HOURS waiting in the parking lot for another Mobile tire repair to come fix the tires. They backed my car out of the garage and closed the shop for the night with my new tires inside, resulting in me having to cancel the mobile tire guy and having to uber home once the tire guy was almost there and having to uber there again the following morning. Not to mention because they had broken the lug nut I had to have the tires put on with the rim still on the car resulting in my rims being damaged. I will likely have to file a lawsuit to get compensated for all these costs if corporate refuses to fix. WHAT A MESS! Do yourself a favor and go to a standard mechanic for repairs and stay away from places like this! With the CEO of the company residing in Miami it is UNBELIEVABLE to experience service like this!

WARNING – Pep Boys will lure you in with attractive coupons and discounts, but then fail to honor them. On September 4, 2025, I took my car to this store specifically because Pep Boys’ website advertised a “$9.99 A/C Service Evaluation with Coupon.” I presented the coupon before any service was performed and was told it would be applied at checkout. After inspecting my vehicle, the staff informed me that the A/C compressor was faulty and recommended I take it to the dealership for repair. I was then given an invoice totaling $58.83 for an A/C System Evaluation. This charge was completely inconsistent with the clear representation on Pep Boys’ website and the coupon I presented. When I questioned why the store was not honoring the coupon, the representative attempted to contact his manager (Steven De Leon), but he was not available. I was forced to pay the invoice under protest because the store would not return my car keys. This practice is unfair and misleading to consumers and violates Florida consumer protection laws. Do yourself a favor and take your business to a reputable auto service shop instead.

I had all four tires and the brake pads replaced for my Mazda CX-5 (Carbon), and I’m very happy with the service. The team was friendly, helpful, and clearly knew what they were doing.
