I have taken my Lexus here for years for routine maintenance & tires. They complete the work quickly, the prices are competitive & they often go the extra mile & check a fluid level or top fluids up for no charge. As a woman it’s nice to not feel like a mechanic is trying to upsell things you don't need done & I very much appreciate that.

Customer service is abysmal and completely unprofessional. Their work is sub par even for a pep boys. Techs standing around doing nothing in the lobby while cars sit on lifts. Quoted double nearby shops for a basic front wheel alignment. Take your business elsewhere.

On Monday 12/8/25, during a very late lunch break, I had gone out to the garage to let my car run for about 10-15 minutes, which I did 1x/week. Because I have been working FULLY REMOTE for my company since the end of September, I hardly drive anywhere except to STATER BROS at the corner or TRADER JOE'S in Huntington Beach, so to keep the battery from dying I did this weekly. However, when I tried to start it this time, it would not turn over. As I sat there, I prayed & asked the LORD JESUS to please intervene. Within 5 minutes or so after I prayed, a miracle happened! A kind fellow who is a residence of the small apartment complex I live in just came home from work. He shares the garage with me & I rarely ever see him. He showed me kindness in giving me a jump & my car started up right away! Once it started we disconnected the jumper cables which neither of us knew how to connect. While revving up the engine, I called THEODORE FORD up the street & talked to someone in service asking what I should do as there were a few indicator lights that came on that were not there before. He said either the battery is low, or you need a new one. Also, that I should drive it on the freeway for a good 15-20 miles to get the battery charged up. I asked him where I could find a battery for the car & he said any auto parts store should carry it. I asked if he knew of any close by & he mentioned PEP BOYS as one of them. I asked if could please provide me with a phone# for PEP BOYS on Bristol, as I was in my car and didn't have a pin to write with. I could tell in his voice that he didn't want to do that; however, he did. I graciously thanked him. I quickly called PEP BOYS at 3:39pm. Omar answered & I explained my situation to him. He said I could bring it in & they would determine if I needed a new battery or not. I asked him if they had a battery for this car. He checked & found that he did. I was ecstatic! I asked if I came right away if he could help me & he said, "Yes." I told him I needed to leave my car running & lock the garage so I could get my purse. Close to 4pm, I arrived & met Omar at the front counter who very was kind & understanding of my situation. I sat in the lounge area while waiting. Omar came in to tell me that the battery did need to be replaced & why; also that they had to jump-start the car to get it in to test the battery. I was in & out of there within 1 hour, just like Omar told me over the phone. I would give 10 stars if I could! I was provided with EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE regarding needing to find out if my battery needed to be replaced for my 2016 VW JETTA! A BIG thank you to Omar & the technician who installed the battery!

I highly recommend making an appointment ahead of time. The staff are very helpful with finding the soonest available times and it just makes the overall process easier. They will already have your information pulled up and what you need to get done with your car. In my case, I made a same day appointment for an oil change and they were pretty much ready for me once I got there. The shop is very busy and estimated an hour to get the oil change done. But they gave me a call within 20 mins saying I was ready to go. The crew they have at the shop are very efficient and prices are pretty fair too.

I absolutely recommend this place if you want to get angry, waste your time and money, deal with an absurd system, and risk your own or your child's safety by picking up a "repaired" car that breaks down on the road minutes later. Otherwise--stay away. I regret not checking reviews before bringing my daughter's car here. On September 14, I dropped it off because it was losing power and stalling while she was driving. I even provided my warranty company's contact info. A few days later, Pep Boys told me they couldn't repair the car because the warranty company hadn't approved the claim. When I called the warranty company, they told me Pep Boys had submitted the wrong estimate. When I asked Pep Boys to resubmit an estimate with only the covered items, they got annoyed and told me they were done dealing with the warranty company and wouldn't waste more time. After days of back-and-forth calls, on September 21, I was told the car was "ready to pick up." But when I arrived, instead of paying the $170 balance I was expecting, I was told to pay the full amount. The staff said there were no records in their system--not in the computer, not on paper--and that only their boss knew the details. At a national chain, this is beyond ridiculous. After finally contacting the boss, they said the warranty hadn't paid yet, so I couldn't take the car, even though I had confirmation by phone and text that the car was ready. The worst part came after that. Today, my daughter picked up the car, and on her way back to school, the SAME problem happened again. The car stalled in the middle of the road within minutes of leaving Pep Boys. When I called, they admitted that a "special technician" hadn't fully fixed the issue--but they still released the car as "ready." I wasted over $700, countless hours, and most importantly, put my daughter's safety at risk because of Pep Boys' negligence, disorganization, and total lack of accountability. DO NOT bring your car here. I will be filing a formal complaint with Pep Boys corporate about this location.

I came to this Pep Boys for a Lyft/Uber vehicle inspection something I had done before at this same location. I parked in their lot, went across the street for less than 10 minutes to get the updated inspection form, and when I returned, my car was gone. I was shocked to learn that Pep Boys employees confirmed to the tow company that I was not a customer, even though I had just been inside their store minutes earlier. There were no visible towing warning signs or clear customer parking notices. My black Alfa Romeo Tonale was towed by Night Star Towing, and I had to pay $720 to retrieve it — even though all my belongings, including my phone and house keys, were inside the car. This situation was handled carelessly and unprofessionally. Pep Boys should take responsibility for authorizing a tow without verifying that I was a legitimate customer. I’ve already filed a BBB complaint and will continue to follow up until this is resolved. Update 1/12: Pep Boys Corporate confirmed that my case (Case #293520) remains unresolved. My recent comments were added to the case file, and leadership has again been requested to review and follow up. I am still waiting to be contacted with a final resolution.

I called ahead to see if they had time for a walk in and the gentleman was very professional over the phone. I got there and the two employees behind the counter were very knowledgeable and helpful as this was my first time at Pep Boys. The brake service same amount of time and cost as I was quoted. Happy surprise is they filled my windshield washer fluid. Only issue was they didn’t put the seat back and I hit my knees getting back in the car. No points off because my family does it to me too, lol.

Very Disappointing Experience I had my tires shipped to this shop in advance, and I even called beforehand to confirm that they could install them. However, when I arrived, they suddenly told me they didn’t have the machine needed to install my tires. There was no prior notice at all, and my time was completely wasted. What made it worse was that they didn’t show any apology. If they had called me in advance to let me know they couldn’t install the tires, I could have made other arrangements. Instead, I had to drive there with a flat tire, which was unsafe and extremely irresponsible. In the end, I had no choice but to take the tires away and find another shop to get them installed. Based on my personal experience, I do not recommend this shop. Their communication and service attitude are very irresponsible. Please think twice before trusting them with your vehicle.

I bring my car a 2024 cayenne to do oil change they charge my wife $312 and the didn’t left the car with 2 quarts short of what the car needed, very serious consequences with a shop obviously with no reliable employees. And management the worse because won’t address the problem after I bring car back. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE because if they don’t respond for a job not done right you be stock with bill.

I’ve been coming to this Pep Boys for years, and they’ve always treated me right. They don’t overprice like most dealerships or repair shops, and they really take care of their loyal customers. The team is communicative and transparent. They never try to upsell or pressure you into unnecessary repairs. They’re also open seven days a week, which is super convenient for those of us who work Monday through Friday. For bigger jobs like transmissions or specific inspections like smog checks, those are usually done during the week when their master technician is in, but it’s great that they can handle most services on weekends too. Overall, this is a trustworthy shop with fair prices and great service. Highly recommend!
