Awesome service! I called ten places for oil change with my own oil and they charge skyrocketing prices. Pep Boys charges me the most reasonable price on the market with the job done the most meticulous way on my Miata. They are patient and professional, not only waited for the old oil drain to the last bit, but also free inspected my vehicle, WITHOUT charging any extra fees! The place is also grand and clean. What a nice experience for an oil change there! I wouldn’t ever have to change the oil myself to save some bucks with a service like this. Recommend to everyone who purchased the premium oil online and want to change it by professional mechanics afterwards!

Worst place ever.. Took my car for gasket cover replace and oil change. They only did the oil change which took all day. The gasket they needed to order it… Wait few days. Finally came back to pep boys and they had me their all day they said they might have the car ready around 8:00pm They call me saying the car is ready to pick up finally and I had to pick it up next day morning I was not around the shop. I check the gasket to make sure it was replaced and it was. But the antifreeze it was empty and I request and paid for it to be completely full. I went back to let them know and they make sure they put the antifreeze which took another 2 hrs. Apparently few days after I found out my engine is hot. So I open the hood and find out that the antifreeze cap was open so I want to believe the guy who make sure to put the antifreeze liquid he didn’t close the cap completely. That they after everything was done 4 mins after my tire was low it was mark on my dashboard 2 days after my tire got completely flat, now I don’t know what to think. I trust pepboys I guess for the name but now I don’t know what to think. WORST PLACE.

I called Pep Boys at Metropolitan Ave for a quote to change my own 4 tires and was told $30 per tire. When I got to the shop, the manager said it was $38 because I was not buying their tires. This is significantly more than what I was quoted over the phone and more expensive than what other tire shops were charging. To make sure the pricing was only this location, I called several Pep Boys locations nearby and they also quoted me $30 per tire. It felt like a bait and switch tactic to get me to their shop and overcharge me. I would not recommend doing business with them and would advise customers to be cautious if you do use their service. I ended up driving to another Pep Boys and got my tires changed for $30 per tire.

Ordered ONE tire plus installation at pep boys through tire agent . I called pep boys asking if I needed an appointment or could just walk in & was told I could just walk in so I did . After waiting 2 hours I was told my total & that I could pay . I was confused considering I paid for everything online . I showed my receipt which included installation at pep boys with the tire . The cashier brought over a women who insisted that they don't have that option & you don't pay for the installation online . Even after looking at the receipt. Telling me I didn't understand her . I was about to just pay again so I could leave however I contacted tire agent & they figured everything out . Turns out I did need an appointment so they could see I had already paid for installation . Never coming here again .

My BEST experience ever was the customer service exhibited by the Sales Clerk/Cashier named, Mr. Peter. He exemplified EVERYTHING Pep Boys advertises in all ads, signs and commercials. WOW! Initially, I was a bit reserved entering such a large establishment for a car inspection. Immediately, upon approach, Mr. Peter assured me that I was in the right place. As the permanent car owner of my 2010 Ford Escape, there was a car-description question presented and embarrassingly, I couldn’t answer it. Mr. Peter was so kind in quickly checking my car himself to tell me that it wasn’t a Hybrid. Sad, but true. I felt like an ant and he assured me all was well. In addition, Mr. Peter, thoroughly, thoroughly explained the process and future improvements needed. It was pleasing to watch him and the car service gentleman communicate on preparation of my car. He even went as far as sharing existing recall information about my car, I’ve forgotten about. Prior to my departure, future work improvements and pricing were shared! Mr. Peter made Pep Boys shine during my visit! I will return and advertise Pep Boys greatly to all my colleagues at the United Federation of Teachers. If you need to get tires, just buy them there, but install it somewhere else. I got a set and during the process all my rims were scratched. When I went back, the manager and one of the mechanics told me that this is just a hardened paste and after washing, it will come off. the same day I did washed them and scratches are still there.

Do not go to this place at all, service is sloppy and slow while not being able to be serviced at this location. They told me their tire machine cannot install 22 inch tires onto my rims because their machine is too small. I later called a different location and found out their machine is not intact small at all, but instead outright refused to service me and recommended me to their friends nearby which offered a higher price. Do not go to pep boys

I can’t say enough about this Pep Boys location!!! Great crew here! Shout out to Peter and Michael. Also most recently Reynaldo and Chris were fantastic as well. Listen no one ever wants to have to get their car fixed or dole out the money…but these guys are helpful, honest, and they get the job done. Very disappointed with the service at Pep Boys. We had a scheduled appointment for an inspection and still waited 2 hours. Very frustrating experience. If appointments are not honored on time, it defeats the purpose of booking one, Customers' time should be respected !!! Improve scheduling and time management in the future!

I visited this location today to request a warranty inspection on a tire with a sidewall bubble that is less than one year old. The store manager, Michael, refused to inspect the tire and did not allow me to fully explain my concern. I was repeatedly interrupted and dismissed. I felt discriminated against as a woman and that my concerns were not taken seriously. The interaction felt disrespectful and unprofessional. Customers deserve to be heard and treated fairly. I am escalating this matter to corporate for review.

Came in one month ago for my oil change. Was greeted quickly and kindly by Peter. He informed me about all the options and gave me a great time estimate. Alan was the tech who worked on my car. He gave a thorough complementary vehicle inspection and told me everything that was wrong with my car and what I would need to keep an eye on. Jenn was the manager who checked me out and ensured I had a pleasant experience. I felt taken care of and would definitely recommend anyone come here for all their car needs!

Normally they're good. But today they saw my parents like idiots and screwed them over on unneeded services. I had 7 months / 10k miles left on my oil and they told my parents the car needed an oil change. The technician, Angel, said my oil was dark. No, it wasn't. I checked the oil a week ago and that stick was clean. I only drive that car on weekends so I know my car is good. I just needed a new battery. I couldn't be there cause I needed to work, but my elderly parents were seen as suckers apparently. I called and of course the manager will defend his employee and his employee will say it's dirty to sell an oil change. They work like they're making commission and it's disgusting how they tried to justify the unneeded oil change. Then the manager tried to say they automatically change the oil every 5 months and they automatically change the oil when asked about the oil life which is bullshit, lets be honest. I had 70% oil life and they still told my parents the oil was bad. I trusted them, my parents trusted them, and they did this. The manager couldn't even explain the discrepancy i had on my recipe saying he didnt see the charge i was mentioning from his end. Also the paper work shows my car is a AWD when it is NOT it is a FWD. so it seems they dont know how to record keep or tell the difference which is concerning. Im so disappointed with this customer service. I will be going elsewhere from now on. I never expected pepboys to screw me over like this.

I wish I had read the reviews before getting the service and Yes Confirmed HORRIBLE Service My rims were scratched really Bad too during Installation. Mark act like he didn’t do it and just walk away with out giving any explanation.

Today Dec 22 ,2025 I went to pep boys for help, for an oil change ,but instead of helping me, they put two significant dent/ scratches one on my left front side bumper and my right side rear dent and scuffed marks. The technician Angel D ,I'm sure he did the damage because he was the technician that work on the car , the costumer service guy ,denied everything of course, they have cameras, they can confirm their carelessness. But they won't admitted . So for all the costumers who might be considering in going to this pep boys , my advice go to the dealership dont waist your time and money, I have pictures of the damage. 😡
