I had a fantastic experience at Pep Boys! Emanuel and Ken were manning the desks when I came in for my 8:30 appointment, and they both provided excellent service. Emanuel, in particular, took great care of me—he was incredibly knowledgeable and made sure everything went smoothly. Despite being busy, they kept things moving efficiently. My appointment wrapped up around 10:30. The professionalism and attention to detail were much appreciated. I’ll definitely be returning for future service needs! Update from 2-15-2025 Emanuel has earned my repeat business! I came here for new tires last month, returned today for a brake inspection and oil change, and when it’s time for new brakes, I’ll be back. From check-in to communication during the service to check-out, everything was upfront and smoothly handled. Great service and professionalism—thanks so much!

Praise the Lord for Emmanuel and Jacob! Last weekend Pep Boys and the two employees mentioned saved the day! My husband was about to leave for work and one tire had a psi of 15. GLORY to God, my husband was able to drive my car since, I didn't have to work that day. At 6:15am I start googling tire places. I called multiple businesses that showed 'open 24 hours' and if/ when someone answered, I was told no one can assist until 8, 9, 10... I found a shop that opened at 7am close to my house and drive straight there..slowly because the tire pressure was now at 14psi. I walk in and explain I needed a tired. The employee says no one can help with tires until 8 or 830. Feeling more defeated, back to the car and Google I went! Pep Boys was first listed as the closest to me and they opened at 7am. The time is now 7:12am. I call with fingers crossed and prayers lifted up. Emmanuel answered the phone. I explained what was going on and he said that the tire guy would be there at 8am. The sound of anxiety and stress filled the air silence amd as I was about to thank him and get back to Google, he said that his tire guy just walked in and to come on over and they could make it happen. Elated and excited I gathered directions and headed their way! I made it there by 730am, Hallelujah! Emmanuel greeted me with a smile and got me all checked in. Within minutes, the car was taken back! Before 8am I was given an update that two tires had issues. One was fraying on the inside due to uneven alignment causing inconsisent wear, whilst the tire in question had a big ole' nail on the inside wall. Of course it did, right? 🙃 I was told it would take 30 to 45 mins for the tires and an alignment. I was feeling defeated again when I told them I had an appt at 9am and had to leave by 8:30am at the latest. We decided to replace the two tires and I said I would be back on Labor Day for an inspection and would get the alignment then. Jacob went to work replacing the tires and drove it to check all 4 tire pressures and callibrated them again when he got back. Both Emmanuel and Jacob were kind, respectful, professional, helpful and cared enough about my situation to extend compassion, understanding and speedy assistance to get me on my way, just minutes before my deadline to leave. I paid and was in the vehicle by 8:26am! I managed to make it to my 9:00am appointment timely, with all the worries and frustrations of the morning behind me. What they didn't know was that my husband was just 7 days away from his attendance resetting for the calendar year at work, to officially come off of probation. If he had one more occurrence of any kind, even being late one minute because of traffic, it could have cost him more than two tires needing to be replaced. The fact that he could take my car to work and I was able to find a great place with great employees to help me in my desperate time of need, I made it to my appointment on time and the day being uplifted merely by two people being kind was all part of God's plan for my path that day! You never know what any one person is going through or dealing with so, being kind is always going to make a difference and heal something in someone, you didn't eben know was needed. Emmanuel and Jacob showed up to the challenge and exceeded all expectations. I told them I would be back to get my husband's car inspected, oil changed and alignment completed on Labor Day and that is exactly on my first priority of to do's tomorrow. Today, I am gearing up for an oil change in my car and yep, you guessed it, I am going to Pep Boys. This will likely be my shop of choice going forward, simply because two people took the time to be good, kind hearted and helpful humans. The world needs more Emmanuel's and Jacob's. Thanks Pep Boys!

My Appointment at 11am was for a repair to a flat tire (if they could not fit no one in at this time they should have rejected appointment) These guys didn’t even know if they could repair a flat tire but accepted it as if they could because it was a nail, small leak turns out and I quote “the hole was so big they could not patch it” then tried to tell me there was no way for them to know and I had to buy a new tire at $212 for my Jeep here at 12:43pm then told me they can’t put my spare donut re on but after I refused to buy a tire and asked for my previous tire they (the boss and customer service rep) then all of sudden could put my spare donut tire on after waiting very long growing very frustrated and the black lady with blonde extensions at customer service stated the wait would be 20min then 20 more min to work on once they found the nail. I am here 2 hours later now still waiting. Avoid his and her lies she’s rude i just watched another woman come in and out in a matter of 60 seconds because of the attitude and avoid his upsell he’s always either exaggerating or overly pushy either they can do it or they can’ Don’t be Manipulated do research before you go in They’re competition is way more legit, honest, upfront and the quality my account here is done I rather spend the money somewhere else.

Was able to get an oil change late on a Saturday afternoon and pick up the car same day basically when they closed. My only complaint is that they didn't call to say the car was ready and the app never updated that the car was ready until Monday morning, a day and a half after I picked it up. Other than that it was a good experience.

Bought a battery online at a great price compared to another auto parts store that wouldn’t install it. Scheduled next-day installation for about the same cost as buying just the battery at the other place - super easy process. Check-in was fine, the waiting area was okay, and the technician was really nice. The whole job took less than an hour. Checkout was very friendly - they asked me to scan the QR code on the door for a five-star review, though since I was already getting text updates, a link would’ve been easier with my hands full on the way out. Edit: discovered a pair of needle nose pliers on the car so went to return them. Walked in and was the only customer in the room with three employees. Two were chatting together and the other one was busy typing on the computer. After a while, the one on the computer said please wait a moment without looking up.

Ken and Emanuel were a life saver for me and my wife. We needed our car repaired and they got it done for us even though they were extremely busy. I had taken my car to Goodyear because of a battery light, they replaced the battery and the light was still on. They wanted 200.00 more to read the code and charged me 470.00 for the battery. Thank you Pep Boys! In Richmond you need to watch where you take your car, I find that discount tire and pep boys are ones you can trust

Went in for an unscheduled inspection on a Friday and at first was pleased that they were able to get me in and turn around the inspection in a few hours. They weren't even very pushy on trying to get me to add on extra services, just the usual air filter replacement they tried to offer. Great experience at first. Next day my car doesn't start! $150 tow and $180 diagnosis fee at the dealer latter and the air intake boot was knocked out of alignment, which only happens if someone is mucking around with your air filter to hard and yanks on it and messes it up. I really appreciate the rough handling of my car and putting me $320 in the hole right during the holiday season Thanks Pep Boys.

I took my car to Pep Boys for a state inspection. Since my engine light was already on, I expected to spend some money. After three days and almost $900, I finally got my car back. However, to my dismay, the engine light was still on. I walked back inside and asked the technician about the issue. His response was dismissive, saying, “Oh, well, we didn’t check the engine or anything related to that. We only focused on what was needed for your car to pass the inspection!” Naturally, this explanation didn’t sit well with me, especially since I had paid almost $900 for the inspection. I pressed him further, asking if they had checked the engine. He replied, “Nope. If you leave your car, we will check it for you. I dropped my car off after work the following day. A day later, I received a call back informing me that the repair would cost $1,400 plus. And of course, I still had to pay $110 for the “new inspection.” Needless to say, I will never return to this place.

He was warm, informative, kind, and made sure I understood what was going on without making me feel rushed or dismissed. Matthew, the mechanic, is the one who truly saved the day. I had a slow tire leak that needed immediate attention, and he patched it up quickly and efficiently. His professionalism, calm attitude, and willingness to help meant a lot during a stressful moment. The night before, I had gone to the Firestone up the road and had a completely different experience — unprofessional, rude, and they didn’t even come out to greet me. He was here all by himself in the middle of this ice storm and was able to get me 2 new tires that allowed me to make it safely home after having been stuck for 2 hours on the side of the road. *******UPDATE*********. I was able to have the regional manager contact me and he was able to credit my account back half of what I paid so I did get $121 back. I was happy for that to get something. I was a little upset about it being 248 and not getting the money but he did explain that it was due to me attempting to install it and the top post scratching it. Be careful I just lost $248 I came in purchased a battery attempted to install on my truck it wouldn’t fit on the post. I looked at old battery there was a difference and my old one had warranty I immediately took battery back within couple of hours I was told I needed a supervisor and he was gone I called next day spoke to supervisor advised I had attempted to install and wouldn’t fit and that my old battery had warranty so I would be returning he said ok bring back Saturday. I went back he was gone for the day per staff I left battery there. Fast forward days later no call back no nothing I called to check on refund was told I could not get a refund as battery was installed I advised staff it was not installed couldn’t fit I was trying to get it in the post and they said since I tried to install it and they could see the marks they wouldn’t be able to return it. Slap in the face because I hadn’t had the thing 3 hrs total and went back it was never used I even showed it to staff the same day I took it back and of course then got no help. It’s sad to not even offer half off or something to lose that kind of money for a battery never used is insane not to mention the vehicle is at VL Carter in the shop getting work done not even being driven that is a rip off. Just beware people
