The most honest and straightforward mechanic I have ever visited. I told them my problem and they explained the issue of my car in simple and understandable terms. I thought I was going to have to spend $1500 on a new transmission, but I only had to spend a 1/3 of that. If I had gone anywhere else, they would have tried to charge me the maximum. Great mechanics and wonderful people here.

My car was making a weird sound and I took it here for diagnosis. They were able to pinpoint the issue with certainty. The part was expensive to replace, so they suggested a variety of other options, first steps, and even other mechanics I could call to see if they could rebuild the part instead of buying a new or used one. In the end, I had them replace the rear differential and it fixed the sound. I'm really happy with their service and feel they did everything they could to help me save money. I feel treated with respect here. This is my go-to place now for maintenance.

I took my car here because my check engine light went on and it was the closest auto shop to my location. I’m glad I found this place, as they did a quick diagnosis and then, sent me to the dealership for a possible warranty resolution, instead of taking my business and money. I will definitely use them in the future for any auto/mechanical issues with my car. Highly recommend.

Tom and his brother are very honest at auto repair. I have taken my Ford Bronco there a few times in the last couple of months, and they do the repairs quickly, fairly, and honestly. They give me a call before performing any repairs that were not talked about before they are completed. Offers great advice for future repairs as well. Will continue to have them do the repairs and tuneups for my vehicles.

Tom is great and runs an excellent shop. They know their stuff and I've never felt they were taking advantage of me- more often they recommend options to save me money. They're best if you know what you need. They'll take care of it and that's that, which is great. But I'm not a car expert so occasionally I've asked them to do a general maintenance check, and they had no problem taking a look at everything for me and letting me know what might need work. Super honest and reliable. Been going here for years and highly recommend them.

Precise Auto Repair is one of the best car service in the bay area with friendly & knowledgeable team. I always ask what everything is and means and they're willing to educate me while the process is in motion. They feel like family and they are so appreciated ☺️ Update in 2025: Still same as ever but their hours changed so they no longer open on the weekends. My advice is to come early! Still just as friendly as they were 7-8 years ago and will always be. It's so hard to find a transparent trustee mechanic and I'm so grateful for them!

They are the best mechanics hands down. I’ve been going there for several years now and they always do top quality work. Recently I had a rod knocking and needed a new engine. Tom is passionate, genuine, and most importantly not greedy. He doesn't recommend unnecessary repairs and takes time to explain the issue and the root cause. He also seemed to specialize in german cars. I took my mazda 6 for atf flush and brake job. Did a splendid job and a half day turn around.

These guys are the best!!! I originally found their shop because of all the positive reviews they had on Google and they did not disappoint. Tom & Viet are so honest, knowledgeable, and their prices are really good. They've actually taken the time to show me the repairs that need to be done. Their cost estimates are much more affordable than other shops. Also, one time after I had parked my car on the street, I noticed the side of my bumper had popped out (probably was swiped by another car) - Tom was able to get it back in place and didn't even charge me! I told my mom about how wonderful these guys are and she started using this shop too. The only reasons I don't go here anymore are because I need a shop that's open on Saturdays, plus I moved. They used to be open on Saturdays but they stopped during the pandemic (which I understand). I highly recommend Precise Auto Repair!

Tom is amazing. He has serviced 4 of our vehicles for over 10 years. NEVER have we had a problem with his repairs. He is personable, caring and reasonable in price. They will let you know if it is a safety concern or if it is some thing to hold off until a future repair. They know their vehicles and can predict some the future issues with certain makes and models. There have been some instances where Tom came out the parking lot, turned on the car to confirm what we told him, and made a minor adjustment. Then 5 min. later sent us on our way with no charge. LOVE this Shop!!

I brought my 2013 Toyota Sienna to Tom for a lower front control arm replacement. He was prompt in providing a clear estimate, ordered the necessary parts quickly, and completed the repairs on time. While working on the car, he also noticed some minor bumper damage from a parking mishap and generously offered to fix it at no additional charge. Tom is warm, approachable, and clearly takes pride in his work. I found him to be trustworthy and reliable, and I wouldn’t hesitate to return for future repairs or to recommend him to others.
