I didn't like anything about the guy that runs this place. When I came in about a year ago, he clearly thought that I knew nothing about cars, and he tried to sell me an over priced piece of junk. The car he tried to sell me was older than me, and he wanted $3000 for it. It had no air, no heat, it was a mess on the inside (clearly someone had smoked in the car) and the drivers seat belt was broken. It had more miles that the stick shift I bought from my aunt, and she took that thing on cross county road trips several times a year. He was super rude to me. He treated me with little to no respect, and even treated my mother like she was a child. He talked down to us to such a degree that we didn't even consider looking at any of his other cars. My friend is looking to buy a new car, and today we went back here to check out what he might have, and I was willing to give this man another shot. I have never been so speechless . For a sales person to talk down to me like that is unimaginable. He not only asked if I was even old enough to buy a car, but if I even had a job. He treated me like a child, and treated my friend even worse. I'm not going to lie, I was slightly rude back to him after he had asked for the 3rd time if I really even had a job. The owners rudeness was uncalled for, and I will never step foot on that car dealership again. Not even if you paid me. I will never be treated with such disrespect again. Please, don't buy a car from this dick.

Top notch, literally family owned. I think it’s 2 sons and the parents. Mom, Dad, and one son are in this location while the other runs the University one. They have always been able to service my car in a timely manner. Edit: can’t stress how helpful and good price this auto shop is.

Great prices, friendly employees, and professional service. I called several places around Waterloo and Independence to get a wheel bearing fixed. Priority 1 had the best quote and was able to get me in the next week, so I brought my car in. When my car was being serviced, they found a couple other issues and I decided to go ahead and schedule that to be repaired as well. They ordered the parts and got me in a couple days later again. When they were working the second time, they realized they would not have to do quite as much in parts as they originally thought. Instead of just putting the extra parts on and charging me for the extra labor, the owner told me the good news and saved me a couple hundred dollars. đź’°đź’°

I recently moved to the area and didn't have a mechanic here that I felt I really could trust. I called around for quotes as I was having some brake issues. When I spoke to the gentleman at Priority 1, he gave me a very reasonable quote that was lower than the other places I had spoken to. They were able to squeeze me in the next day. The employees are very friendly. I was so thankful that they fixed the calipers instead of just telling me they needed to be replaced. They never tried to force other services on me either. Great customer service! To say the least, I will definitely be going back for any issues or maintenance work on my vehicle. I feel that they are good, trustworthy people and highly recommend them.

We just finished paying off our car today WOOHOOO! But I came here to say it was an absolute pleasure doing business with Priority One. The customer service is absolutely fantastic. They never called and harassed us but trusted us to know we would make our payments every month even if we had to make both payments at the same time. I broke down while I was driving through Waterloo and had a friend recommend priority one to fix my truck and I called them and he was super nice and gave me the phone number for a wrecker and was gonna try and fix it quickly since I’m from out of town. The tow truck got to me and started my truck right up. So I didn’t need their service but I know they would’ve treated me right .

Several months ago my brakes were making that metallic rubbing sound, like they often do when they get worn down. In the past I have taken my car to a large chain-operated shop, which I have been less impressed with the last few years than in the past. I had heard good things about Priority 1, so I decided to give them a try. They did a great job with the repair, and while automotive repairs are almost never cheap, the cost was not as high as I thought it might be. I knew that the suspension was going to need some work too, and this past Sunday I had a breakdown which turned out to be a broken strut. I had the car towed in, and they looked at it promptly on Monday morning and had it fixed by early afternoon. Unlike some auto repair shops, they will not try to talk you into doing more work than what is needed. At my first visit I signed up for a "buy 4 oil changes and get the 5th free" special after I overheard them talking with another customer about it. I think I can confidently say that this will be my go-to place for automotive service in the future.

They are the most honest, reasonably priced, excellent work car and truck shop. There were times I easily could have been taken advantage by a shop, but they were honest when something that seemed like it would be an over $1000 job, and it ended up being simple, and they were honest about it and charged me $33. They even took me home and picked me up when the work was done.
