I have brought my car to Rocky on two separate occasions both times I’ve felt my time wasn’t valued. I understand it’s a small shop & he is busy, however most recently my calls went unanswered, including the two calls made 10 minutes before I had to go in & discuss my vehicle face to face & get my keys. While speaking with Rocky he interrupted our conversation to answer the phone, huge bummer.

I needed new breaks and rotors. Rocky's not only did stellar work, they did it for a great price and very quick. I cannot recommend them enough. Just a side note it's probably one of the hottest days of the year today, too, and they still did better than your average shop.

My visit to this mechanic was highly unsatisfactory. Not only did they scratch my rims, but their incompetence was evident in the quality of work. To add to the frustration, they refused to provide a receipt for the services rendered. I strongly advise against entrusting your vehicle to this establishment.

I am so disappointed. I live nearby and thought I had finally found an honest mechanic with fair prices, and then I checked my inspection receipt and see that he charged me full price for an emission test that I did not need. Fact - If you have driven your car under 5,000 miles, you do not need a full emissions test. Over the last year, I'm sure many people like me, were either working from home or unemployed, and were not driving their car very often. Rocky straight up told me he charges full price, whether or not you have driven under 5,000 miles, and does the full test. It will be the last time I take my car there, because if he performs and charges me for that unnecessary test (which he admitted to me!), then who knows what else he does.

it took rocky a month to inspect my car and i had to cal multiple calls to get any updates at all. after getting my car back, it only took 36 hours for the check engine light to come on. it began overheating and smoking, they same reason i brought it to him in the first place, along with the inspection. DO NOT FALL FOR THE $750 SCAM.

Exactly what you want and expect from a small mechanic in Fishtown. Sometimes you might call, and no one will answer. You might not know what’s good with your car for a few hours, but trust that Rocky and team will take care of it. Rocky has been nothing but kind to me when I bring my car in, and charges reasonable prices for his services without tacking on anything unnecessary. He even turned down my business and suggested a nearby place that could take care of my tire sooner than he’d be able to. If you’re looking for an online portal and rigid timelines, take your car to a big brand auto body shop. If you want solid work from nice people, go here.

as someone who doesn't know much about cars, i've been in situations where i've clearly been ripped off/taken advantage of in the past. after a friend mentioned they used rocky's, i figured i'd give it a try. i've gone two times now and i'd never go anywhere else! rocky is so friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. fair pricing, genuine people. definitely would recommend :)

Do not recommend it if you're looking for a trustworthy mechanic who isn't trying to rip you. If you're unsure about the work needed I highly recommend getting at least a second quote from somewhere else. I went in to get my car ac checked out. I was very sure it was a simple coolant recharge issue, however didn't have the time to do it myself. Got a call back saying the compressor needed to be replaced and quoted me $980!! Was even told the car won't run if the compressor doesn't get replaced. Absolute joke. I was able to get the recharge done myself with a $40 coolant from AutoZone.

Rocky coordinated with me to have my car towed to his place and my starter replaced by 5pm the next day, just in time for me to be able to drive down to the Delaware beaches for a planned vacation with my girl. He truly does care about the customer and will go above and beyond to make you happy with the service. He has gained a customer for life.

The work and price is top notch, but his actual working hours are very different than the posted hours of operation, making it extremely difficult to plan accordingly. Called ahead and was told by the woman answering calls that the facility would be open at 8AM (which I found odd since the posted hours started at 10AM, but given that the inconsistency of hours is a well known occurrence, I didn’t question it), so we drove across town to give our trusted local mechanic our business. We waited until 10:30 and nobody showed up. Another customer had also been standing outside for 45 minutes with us in the rain, as she had also made an appointment that was not honored. I feel it is not unreasonable to assume that a business owner will open their business on time, and this entire experience has been disappointing. I would only recommend coming to this shop if you live right around the corner and have literally nothing planned for the day, otherwise, find another shop that will honor your appointment times or, at bare minimum, their posted hours.

I called on 9/7/24 looking for somewhere to get my car inspected that day as my stickers expired a week ago and I work Monday through Friday and Saturday was my only day open to do so. I called and spoke to Rocky who said it was no problem to come over and he could do it. I was there 20 minutes after taking to him and the side door and garage door were locked but people were inside working. I knocked on both doors and called at least 10-15 times while sitting parked out front door over a half hour and got no answer. Very bad business practice. Would of gained a loyal repeat customer if the service was good. Ohh well, thanks anyways! Mike C.

I called at 2:55 to see if they could take a walk-in and they said yes. I dropped my car off at 3pm and it was ready by 5pm. They replaced my rotors and brake pads and the car is driving smoothly now. The cost was fair and affordable. Would highly recommend Rocky's! Thanks for accommodating me last minute!
