It was close to 5pm when I realized I needed the water pump replaced on my 2004 Corvette. I called Rodney and despite how late in the evening it was he told me to come in and he would get my car fixed TONIGHT. He was very professional and made sure I understood what needed to be fixed and the cost. Rodney and his mechanics got my car fixed in a couple hours and to top everything off they hand washed and dried my car! As a single woman going to get your car fixed is usually a very stressful and intimidating experience but Rodney Hubbard’s shop was hands down my best experience at a repair shop and I will go back for every repair! Very grateful for his honest and straightforward approach!

When I came to town and my rear axle went out on my jeep Rodney was able to replace it in the short time that I was going to be in town. They worked until 7:00 pm on a Saturday to get it finished. I am greatful for him and his Mecha ic Bobby for insuring that It was done right and I was satisfied.

worst service I’ve ever received. I called the day before and told him what I needed fixed. Two other shops told me the same issue but couldn’t fix it for two weeks. I dropped the car off the next morning and my dad told him that the other shops said make sure it’s calibrated afterwards. I go back to the shop at 5pm and my truck hadn’t moved. I go i to the office and he says sorry to tell you but you need a transmission. I explained that the transmission just got replaced 2 months ago. And he’s like well it won’t reverse. I told him it went in reverse before I got here and i put it in reverse to park it when I left, he told me to call my warranty because the transmission is done and he can rebuild it i said sir nothing is wrong with my transmission and moved my truck with no problem to pull into the garage. He then put it on a machine and said oh this needs to be replaced. I said I know that’s what I said yesterday on the phone. I went to Pinkerton to pick up the piece and they were closed so I went to oriellys and bought the piece. I came back and he said you need to replace your gear shift. I said no I don’t he said these trucks are known for having issues with that. I said well mine doesn’t. He put the piece I bought on and we went into the office for me to pay. He said you need an oil change or anything and I told him no he laughed and said just this part ain’t it. I paid and went to pull off. As I was pulling off I realized he moved quick. So I called and said did you recalibrate it. He said I forgot come back real quick. I go back he puts it on a machine and an abs light comes one and check engine (lights that were never there before). I explained that those lights were never on. He lifts the car and said oh ABS light is on because you need a Hub Beating. I explained that it was never on before so why is it just magically on now. I asked him could it be on because he forgot to recalibrate it. He replied and said oh yea I don’t have the system to recalibrate it. I then asked why would he even do the work if he didn’t have the system. He then said I told him that ABS light had been on. I told him to stop putting words in my mouth because no lights were on my dash before he put his hands on my truck. He is one of the most sheisty, conniving mechanics I’ve ever dealt with in my life. Do not take your vehicle to your shop even if it’s your last option. Better off driving your car however it is driving. Would give it negative stars if I could.

When visiting Lynchburg for a wedding, I noticed that half of my engine shield was hanging down. I called Rodney Hubbard Automotive to see if they could get me in on short notice as they were the only shop open Friday evening. They told me to bring my car in and I left it there Friday evening. Later that night, they called to tell me that it was $250/hour for 2 hours of labor, coming out to a total of $500… I was shocked about the price to say the least and wouldn’t have left my car with them if I was aware of their rate prior to them performing the service. I told them on the phone that I’d pick up my car in the morning. I arrived at 10am the next day and no one was there (even though the open sign was on and said they open at 9). One of the technicians told me they weren’t there and I’d have to come back later. I left and then called their phone over 10 times and at around 11am, I finally received an answer and was told there should be someone at the business now to pick it up. I went back and sat down with Rodney to pay. The only redeeming quality of this place was that he was kind. He gave me an invoice stating labor was $259/hour and they worked 1.8 hours totaling $472.51 after fees. I asked Rodney what they had to do to fix the car and he stated I was given a new engine shield. I thought it was odd that I wasn’t charged for any parts, but was so frustrated by being given the run around and the amount I was about to spend (and the fact that I was going to be late for the wedding) that I paid without arguing and left. I then checked under my car and noticed that they in fact did NOT give me a new engine shield as the one on my car had the same run down marks that my original one had. They merely screwed my current one back into place, which should NOT have taken 1.8 hours and $472.51 to fix. Rodney Hubbard Automotive took advantage of me being a girl from out of town who was desperate for a quick fix. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone.

After calling 2 other repair shops and being told I’d have to wait minimum of 2 days to get in, I called Rodney. He was extremely kind, energetic, and professional, and was diagnosing my car an hour later. I was concerned that my car might present a problem because it’s a VW, but Rodney knew his stuff and I was driving away by evening, and haven’t had a bit of trouble since. Price not bad either (in fact I told him he should charge more!) He even sent someone to pick me up from downtown when he found out I was walking to the shop to pick up my car!

Rodney Hubbard and his mechanics Shane and Bobby are an example of how a small business should operate. After a near tragedy blowing out the brakes of my vehicle on the highway while traveling from GA to PA I googled mechanics nearby. I decided to call Hubbards in Lynchburg near where I was staying for the weekend. Rodney listened to my issue and took me in right away on a Saturday. They were all ready and prepared. Shane and Bobby worked on my brakes and were very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions and concerns. While I waited there they welcomed me and were always attentive to my concerns. Not just great mechanics but awesome people! Rodney was super personable and put me at ease while he made sure the parts were ordered and even picked them up for me to speed up the process. Bobby went above and beyond and drove along with me to make sure the brakes were all good and fixed! These guys were a blessing and I highly recommend them for auto services.

Not only are they open until 9pm AND open on Saturdays, they had my Jeep in the shop within 45 minutes of my phone call! Mr. Hubbard and his staff were incredibly kind and professional and they went above and beyond my expectations, even unexpectedly washing my Jeep for me! I will certainly be using Hubbard automotive in the future and highly recommend them for repairs.

Mr. Hubbard connected me with a dealership in Northern VA from where I purchased 2 vehicles on which routine maintenance is done at his shop. Great customer service, great attention to detail & I’ve never had any complaints. 4 stars ⭐️ instead of 5 due to the wait time, as they’re always busy. Otherwise, highly recommended.

It was the worst, unprofessional place I have ever taken my jeeps. The work was not done. After paying over 1,000 of my hard earned money. And what little they did do, it was not properly done. Told me my car was ready to come pick it up, did and the useless mechanic that was fixing on my jeep told me of five more crucial things wrong with my jeep. Instead of telling me this before saying it was ready. I have placed my jeep to someone else just to learn nothing was done to it. And it was extremely not fixed properly.
