I rarely write reviews but I feel SCP Automotive deserves one. My daughter is a student at UD and we live out of town. Her car started making a loud sound and she was afraid to drive it. Upon doing a google search, I luckily chose SCP Automotive. Not only were they honest but they were able to get her car in quickly for the repair. Another bonus, they are close to campus. I recently used SCP Automotive to service my van. I had an intermittent problem that multiple garages had been unable to diagnose. Dean in the office was very courteous and knowledgeable.I really appreciate the fact that they were able to fit me in on a Saturday, even when I had just called on Friday. They fixed my brake system on very short notice. I thought I had a rear wheel bearing problem as well, but their honest assesment that the bearings were okay, ( it was the tires) saved me hundreds of dollars. I was very pleased with their professionalism and customer service. I think they are a 'diamond in the ruff', of care care service. Will definitely recommend them, and go again as needed.

The first time I took my car here I thought a lot of work would need to be done since it had been a while since my car had been serviced. I dropped off my car, requested a full inspection, and told them to do any repairs up to $200 and to call me if the car needed more than that. It turned out my car didn't need much work at all and we never came close to that $200 ceiling, They could of taken advantage of me but they did not. I've been taking my car to them ever since and they have been generous with their time and knowledge. The best mechanics I know of.

EVERYONE at SCP is fantastic - great integrity, honest, only do what needs done and very reasonable. They value relationships and doing good work. I have a few vehicles I need worked on, starting with a simple brake pad swap a 2016 Patriot, very simple. I made arrangements to drop the first one off for completion at their convenience. Upon arriving to drop the vehicle off I was told that there is a $125 "Diagnosis" fee before they could give me a price. It has been many years since I have had a shop change my brake pads but this sounds crazy to me. There is also a sign as of 5/17/24 on their wall that says the diagnosis fee is $42 but I didn't stay long enough to inquire how they came up with the $125 they informed me of. Perhaps the shop will refute this but that is exactly what happened. Needless to say I'm going elsewhere.

I went to SCP after my car had a sudden, serious issue. I heard about this place because a friend’s dad owns it, so I felt I could trust them with a more complicated issue. I am so impressed!! My car seems to be driving even better than when I first bought it! The pricing was fair, and the people who work there are so kind and genuine. I especially appreciated how they explained everything that needed to be done in detail and educated me on how to take better care of my car in the future. We are going to be coming back in the future with our family cars. I never post reviews, but I highly recommend SCP!
