I recently purchased a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee and required a hitch install. I chose to have the hitch installed at the Scranton U-Haul (ask for Jim). They explained that for the 2014 - 2018 models, the factory tow package wiring is not "activated" automatically if a hitch is not installed at the time of purchase. They stated I would need to take the vehicle to a Jeep dealer and have the computer "flashed". I brought it to this Scranton dealer, who advised that since the hitch is not Mopar OEM that the "flash" may not work. To do the "flash" they charge a $150 diagnostic fee. The dealership advised that the "flash" was not successful. They did agree to only charge me half of the fee, since it did not work--hence I am giving them 2 stars. When I brought it back to U-Haul, they advised they have installed hitches on hundreds of Jeeps and sent them to dealers. They also indicated that the factory connector is universal. When they tested it, they said it appeared that the computer had NOT been flashed. I have advised they they NO LONGER recommend this dealership. I tried calling Jeep customer care; but, since the dealership is independently owned, there was nothing they could do. It seems this dealership has incompetent technicians. Truthfully, it seems like a scam to me that this feature is not just activated from the time of purchase. They want you to spend more money, as usual.

I wish I could give this place A zero. That's what they deserve. My 17 ram 1500 5.7 Service was lousy. My fob key was corroded. Then it took them a while to make a decision on whether my fob key was covered by the warranty or not. condensation built up in my AC, then they had the audacity to make a joke about it saying how many miles are on it which are 55,000 almost 56. Saying every 55,000 miles it will build up, You will have this issue. This place is a joke. They treat their workers better than the customers. Then, after a few hours, I went and checked up on my truck and they are talking to one another, having me stand there and hearing about their personal business. I had Firestone tell me my my 22 hellcat camber needed to get replaced, or need a special tool to be adjusted. They told me that would not be covered by the Warranty it's basic wear and tear. And if they did look at it, it would be $160 for the alignment not telling me or not knowing if there is a special tool for this camber to be adjusted. I thought this place was better than the one in Tunkhannock, but the grass isn't always greener on the other side. I felt so uncomfortable being here at this place. Then that one comedian should be told About his sarcasm

First time at the service shop and could not be more impressed. Professional and personable personnel from the desk associate to the mechanics. I got an oil change and tire rotation; I waited and it was competed timely. I’ll definitely keep them as my service provider.

I purchased a 2018 Toyota C-HR from the dealership, in 2021. I haven’t even owned the vehicle for 4 years, and the transmission has gone bad. I purchased the extended warranty when I purchased the vehicle. However, the vehicle is now 4000 miles outside of the warranty, when the transmission went bad. I have left 3 voicemails, spoken to 2 different people, And called at least six other times, as well as emailed and left messages through the website. And not a single person has returned my call, to discuss any kind of possible resolution to repairing the bad transmission. My vehicle was serviced regularly with my normal mechanic. Because I tried to use this dealership one time, and four different mechanics could not figure out how to shut off the maintenance required light, after the oil change was done. Definitely steer clear of this place. Once they have your money, they do not want to help you with anything further, expect to send emails asking if you’re ready to purchase another vehicle from them. Ummm, that would be a no.

I needed to find a winter car. My wife and I stopped to look at a 2019 Grand Cherokee we saw listed online. Bill a sales rep met us outside after a few minutes of looking. We were in a bit of a hurry as we had a few other things to get done. We test drove the Jeep and decided to buy it. Bill had all of the paper work done and car ready in 30 minutes. He made everything super easy and very quick. Thanks Bill and Scranton Dodge for everything.

Easiest car buying experience that I have ever have. Fred Langenhop was our salesman. He listened to what we wanted and he delivered. There were no high pressure sales tactics. He was a nice guy who did a great job. He and the whole team did. I am impressed. In less than 24 hours, they took our trade in Jeep and we drove away in a new "to us" Jeep. Thank you Fred! Update... First oil change. Easy online scheduling. They sent reminders by email and text. Everything went smoothly at the dealership. It took a little longer than I hoped for just an oil change, 90 minutes. But otherwise, they communicated when everything was close to being finished. Since I waited at the dealership, that was great. I imagine if I went elsewhere, that would have been my return to pick up my car notice.

I bought a used Jeep at another dealership and had issues from day one. The dealership where I bought it couldn't figure out what the issue was so they told me to take it to Scranton Dodge. They fixed the issue at a fair price. I will definitely go back to Scranton Dodge.

Was looking to purchase a vehicle from this dealership roughly 8 months ago. They told me they were having trouble getting me approved but failed to tell me they ran my credit with different lenders 10 times! They didn't care about running my credit and affecting my credit profile. I bought a new 2025 Toyota tundra platinum trd and was approved instantly with tier 1 credit. They also had no idea why I was having issues at scranton dodge but was happy to have me in. I'd never go back to this dealer in the future. Steer clear from their service department and sales.

BUYER BEWARE !!! Plenty of high pressure 1950’s sales tactics. As I drove to this stealership ( not a typo ) with a 1:00 pm APPOINTMENT, they text me that the vehicle is sold. While I’m turning around in Wilkes - Barre, they call me and say the morning’s sold deal fell through, due to inability of the buyer to obtain financing, and it’s again available. I again turn around in Wilkes - Barre, and head to Scranton. While I’m waiting forever in the showroom ( without as much as an offer of a drink, or whereabouts of the restrooms ) for numbers, I’m told another salesman has an interested customer so I must hurry with a decision !!! Lastly, they give me the most ridiculously low trade offer on my 1850 mile, mint condition truck you could ever imagine !!! In summary, If you want terrible accommodations, high pressure sales, coupled with lousy trades, this is your dealership. I’ll NEVER darken their doorway again !!! THE WORST CDJR Dealer ( and I use the term loosely ), in my entire life !!! BUYER BEWARE 😡😡😡

Unfortunately, I have a 14 foot Chrysler Dodge pro master 14 foot truck that broke down in Scranton Pennsylvania. My vehicle was towed to Scranton Dodge in Scranton to do the necessary repairs. After being lied to many times finally after 2 1/2 months the engine came in and was replaced. They said it was not covered under warranty so we paid for a new engine. Approximately less than four months later, the same truck broke down in Rhode Island and was taken to a Chrysler Dodge dealership there. The dealership told us that it was from Poor workmanship at Scranton Dodge and should be paid for by them. We even went through the warranty process to make sure that it would be covered by warranty because that is what Scranton Dodge wanted us to do. They denied us and told us that it was due to poor workmanship and warranty would not cover it. Of course Scranton Dodge is now trying to blame it on Rhode Island Dodge stating that the parts were left out in the rain and they got rust on them, etc. etc. The service manager at Scranton Dodge Dave Grover lied to us repeatedly over the last three months saying the truck was going to be covered was going to be fixed and that they would be paying for it. Got a message from Scranton Dodge Dave Grover today stating that there was nothing that they could do and that he was finished working on this. I would not recommend Scranton Dodge for anything. Dave Grover service department lied to me over and over and over again. Could not get a return call on many occasions. After buying six of these Dodge pro Masters and a partner buying probably 10.will no longer purchase anything Chrysler Dodge. Would not recommend Scranton Dodge because of their service manager, Dave Grover repeatedly lying to me when he would give me a call or email me he would lie to me and say he was working on it and that it would be taken care of. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau and also filing a claim with an attorney in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

My family bought multiple cars from Scranton Dodge and the last car we bought from them was only a few years old and we were told the previous owner lightly used it etc. HOWEVER, when we got this car it was nothing but problems. A professional told us this car was definitely in a flood previously (hence water in the lights of the car an all the issues). One day the entire car just does not start although I had JUST gotten a new battery from them (battery and the backup battery were both completely dead which was suspicious and questionable). Later on, the radio has issues. The screen turned into a mess with rainbow glitches all over. It was completely unfunctional and would randomly turn my air on and off and they said they would call us about the radio and I am still waiting years later for that call. Oh also, I am still waiting for the call for my spare tire that they never gave us when we bought the car (they said they would call us back shortly). This place is awful. Do not buy a car from here unless you want a car with issues AND if you want to be ignored if there are issues. Awful company. Awful and ignorant workers. Happy to say that car is long gone now! DO NOT SUPPORT THIS COMPANY!

I think it’s a little ridiculous how I paid almost 200$ for a diagnostic for them to tell me I had a throttle body issue after telling them my car wasn’t running over 20 mph. I chose to not fix it at the dealership because of the price & chose to fix the issue somewhere else. The mechanic I took it to did the work & it was NOT the throttle body. I needed a whole new fuse box & for how quick the diagnostic was I felt like the techs completely guessed on what was wrong with the car. So how is it that I pay for a service & said service isn’t done properly? Kind of ridiculous. Would’ve expected more from an almost 200$ diagnostic

This place WILL NOT CALL ME BACK!!! I'm extremely frustrated!!! So I live in Cleveland but I've been driving to Taylor PA for work. On my long drive to Taylor, my check engine light came on. I decided to take it to the Scranton Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram dealership to have it looked at. They fixed the truck by replacing the radiator fan control module and shroud. I was very grateful. Unfortunately about 2 hours into my 6 hour drive back home to Cleveland, my truck started to overheat! I immediately pulled over to see what was going on. I come to find out, the service department didn't tighten my radiator cap completely! Coolant leaked and sprayed EVERYWHERE IN MY ENGINE BAY!!! It completely soaked and ruined the filter on my cold air intake as well! I was stranded on the side of the highway for over an hour with the nearest gas station/auto parts store 14 miles from the location of my overheating truck. I then had to buy 2 gallons of generic "universal" coolant, as it was all they had. Over the past 4 business days, I've called the dealership and left SEVERAL messages for the service manager AND the general manager. Neither have responded nor called me back yet. All I want is to be able to take the truck in to them so they can flush that generic coolant out of the cooling system and replace it with the factory recommended kind. Since I'm only in town Monday through Thursday and I drive back home for the weekends, its kind of a time sensitive issue. Hence my frustration. *UPDATE* 38 minutes after posting this review, the service manager finally reached out to me. He was very courteous and professional. He scheduled me to come in the next day so they could flush out my cooling system, clean my engine bay, wash the truck, and reimburse me for the generic coolant that I had to buy. They did a good job. I understand that mistakes happen and that people get busy and cannot respond or call someone back right away, but having to call 8 or 9 times and leaving 5+ messages and voicemails to finally get a hold of someone that was able to help me was a little frustrating. I'll be changing my 1 star to a 3 star rating overall. I do appreciate Dave for finally reaching out.
