Don't get upsold on their wash and wax. Promised a one hour job "because the guys are not busy" at 930am on a Thursday, 2.5 hours later, and after i told them I couldn't wait any longer, I got my car back. I felt bad for the one guy who did all the work, who apologized to me, but why make one guy do everything on one car when it took him so long? There were plenty of people working and available, but I think this place does the one person per car to maximize tips, another annoyance.

Gas up on station #8. Pushed in octane 87 and gas station decided to revert to octane 89! For this to happen either the cashier manually override the pump and decided to change from 87 to 89 or faulty wiring inside gas pump! Someone’s going to get investigated by weights and measure.

Worst, slowest, poor quality car wash. Expect an hour minimum and plan for the car to need a lot of extra attention after you’ve picked it up. No organization, no sense of urgency and unfortunately no pride in the finished project.

Daughter had car washed there today (July 22, 2018). Took over an hour and 15 minutes. After complete, they lost her keys and didn't find them for a half hour. I called to express my disappointment and after a few minutes they hung up on me. Very, very disappointing. If I could give zero stars I would.

Worst, slowest car wash I’ve ever experienced. So slow, I actually have time to write a review, which I never do. Already waiting over an hour, and without a big line. Car wash crew totally undermanned for the amount of cars going through, and I suspect they’re not tracking or just don’t care about running cars through by the order they arrived. This car wash sucks!

Great car wash! Definitely worth it to get a membership. Prepare to wait a while though. Attention to detail and friendly employees. Gas is a bit too expensive here but the car wash is well worth it.

Unfortunately I have been to this car was more then 20 times. Plan on a FULL HOUR to get even the simplest wash even if there is not any cars being washed. I think the employees try to do 1 car a hour so they don’t have to work hard.

Waited an hour for my car wash, that was expected. What wasn't expected was the lack of attention to detail. Dirty corners and spots on my glass. Then noticed my Chapstick and hand sanitizer were gone. Went back and they found that, plus a shoe I had in the back! Seriously, one shoe? I would never have noticed it was gone until later. Not accusing them of theft, just laziness. If I pay $60 to get my car cleaned, I expect to have everything put back when I return.

I've been going there to fill up the company vehicle I drive, as its very close to my workplaces' location. Lately I've noticed the containers of water for the squeegee's have been empty. I find this weird. Your gas station can't keep these filled? Not just one but all of them. Looks like I'm going to have to use another Shell.

Absolutely horrible experience! My wife took her car to be cleaned and was laughed at by the attendant when she pointed out the entire back of the car had not been cleaned while going through the wash process. Additionally her rubber weather mats were removed during the interior cleaning and not replaced. When she asked about those she was told they were never in there. She then went and spoke to someone else who mysteriously found them sitting outside. It’s one thing to provide a poor service, its completely different insult someone for asking for what they paid for! Really disappointing!

Don't go to this Shell gas station. The employees inside the gas station refuse to wear face masks in direct violation of CDC and local mandates designed to slow the spread of the coronavirus.

The car wash is always pretty good, although they lag. I typically will get 4 fairly expensive details per year. However, after the last time I won’t get a car wash again. My son (5 yrs old) left his paw patrol wallet in the netting behind the front seat. It had a $20 bill in it. We noticed the money was taken out the next day. I’m not going to make a huge stink, I’m just not going to leave my car alone with them. I didn’t realize the wallet was there otherwise I would have taken it out.

It’s unfortunate that this is the only option for 4S Ranch, as it’s quite possibly the most inconvenient convenience store and gas station in the area. Absurd prices aside, their hours are terrible — I don’t bother coming in the evening because more likely than not, their pumps are down for the day. The same goes for propane refills, with no information on them or their differing hours anywhere. My time and money is better spent at the more reliable selection of gas stations in Rancho Bernardo.

Was in yesterday (10-May-2025) and was told the hand wax would be 1:20 to 1:30. Two hours later they were done. Clearly, the back area of my Honda Pilot wasn’t washed or waxed properly, as it was flat in comparison to waxed areas of the vehicle, and the dirt streaks remaining on the paint - even smudges - in the tailgate area. The glass of the windshield wasn’t done well, either. Wish I’d seen all the poor reviews first! Looks like there’s a place near San Marcos with a lot of very good reviews, so I’ll try there next time.
