Although I am more of a DIY type, there are certain things that I am not comfortable tackling myself-like suspension work. I'd been looking for an independent shop to work on my older BMW, and after a thorough search, decided to contact Simpson Motorsports. Although I live roughly 2 1/2 hours away from Iowa City, I decided to bring my car to them after an initial visit to their clean and well-organized facility. Jim and Tim were great to deal with and did an awesome job of explaining what my car needed and gave me a fair and honest estimate before undertaking the work. I couldn't be happier with the work Simpson Motorsports did on my car. I will be back.

Simpson Motorsports is without a doubt the BEST place to have your BMW maintained, repaired, or performance modified. Jim Simpson (the owner) has over 30 years experience working EXCLUSIVELY on BMW autos. He and his son Tim Simpson provide extremely meticulous high quality service, which is performed at 30%-50% less than Iowa BMW Dealership prices. No Starbucks or Popcorn, but when you turn on to I-80 or I-380 you'll be smiling ear-to-ear. Absolutely THE BEST BMW service in Iowa Period.

These guys are the absolute best. Was driving my new to me old bmw from denver to the east coast and it broke down halfway around iowa city. Long story short, every shop in the other that I called blew me off, except this one. Simpson Motorsports took me in late on a friday, fixed up my issue and I made it all the way back home. Amazing service and amazing prices. Cannot recommend them enough. Very thankful to these guys!

The service engine light came on our 2007 BMW on the way to Iowa City for a hospital appointment the next morning, and 140 miles from home. We called and Tim said to bring it over, and it was almost 4pm. He investigated and asked my husband several questions. He found the problem, our failure to get the oil filter cap completely tight. After clearing the codes, double checked and the car hasn't messed up since. It's really great when the shop asks questions and you get to give the answers that guide to the solution. Most shops or dealers won't let you be part of the solution. Many shops don't want to spend time with the customer, and end up spending more time to finally diagnose the problem, Thank you Tim for great service!

I drove my E36 M3 from Omaha, NE to Simpson Motorsport to have a TC Kline suspension put on the car, which Tim did quickly for a great rate. He even stayed a little late to finish up the job and explain how to adjust it. However, as I was leaving Iowa City to head back home, I was rear-ended. Not knowing where to go, I had the car towed back to Simpson Motorsport. Tim had already left, but out of sheer luck, Tim happened to return to the shop as I was getting ready to call a cab and find a hotel. He opened the shop back and put the car on a lift so we could see what kind of damage there was. Luckily, it was mostly cosmetic but there would be a few items that had to be addressed before the car could be driven back home. As it was already 9pm, Tim gave me a ride to my hotel that night. The next day, Tim spent the morning helping me get the car ready to drive back home. He really went above and beyond the call to help me. I 100% trust Simpson Motorsport with my cars. Tim and his father are very honest, as they try to get you the best pricing on all parts and labor. On top of that, they really know BMWs well so you know you are getting the best quality service. Even though it’s a 4 hour drive from Omaha, I will be bringing my pair of M3’s back to Simpson Motorsport whenever possible.
