Smitty’s isn’t just the local, honest, reliable, and cost effective shop in town, the owner Joe “Smitty” is probably one of the most knowledgeable diagnostics technicians I know. Most people think mechanics is turning a wrench for a buck, and having the cheapest guy to turn the wrench is the way to go. You couldn’t be more wrong. The power of a great diagnostic tech will not only speed up the repair process, but also save you time and money while getting you on the road faster and safer. I have turned wrenches for years and consider myself to be a knowledgeable shade tree mechanic. But in the few instances I’ve run into issues, I’ve called Smitty. I’m not sure if he was in a bad mood, but I called to ask a simple service question. And out of nowhere he raised his voice at me. It’s simple, be nice and respectful especially someone just calling to ask one question about a service needed. No need to be rude or sassy. Why aren’t people nice anymore?

Wanted a tune up so I dropped my car off on a Friday morning. I noticed days go by no one called me back… okay gave it until Wednesday. I called and said no rush just wanted to know how much longer it’ll be to work on my car I have to be back to work. Smitty told me he was piled up with so many cars he hadn’t even looked at my car yet. So I gave them until this Friday and decided to pick it up. A WHOLE WEEK went by and no work done or no one looked at it. No wonder so many cars are in the front yard. This may be a good place to get work done but DO NOT drop your car off if you’re in a rush & need it back in days. It’s only 2 men in there working on all those cars one by one.

DO NOT COME HERE. I went in with my g37 I did a return system and I was having trouble with wiring and fuel gauge issues. I asked him to check EVERYTHING I touched. I asked to check lines, pull the pump, and to check the wires. He saw my wires were not to his standard charged me 600 for a basic wire repair. Didn’t fix my issues and when I called to ask for help he told me that he’s best at what he does he didn’t mess up and called me an idiot. Poor customer service and doesn’t listen to the customer. If you’re a car person who’s trying to get his build correct DO NOT COME HERE.
