Wish I would have read these reviews first! I was referred here to handle up on a brake issue. Was initially quoted $1,100 and few days later that went up to $1,500 which I again agreed on. Was told they would have it ready the next day and that they would call. I called a few days later and they said they would have it ready the next day and call me. A couple of days went by and they called and said it was somewhat fixed. When I went to pick it up the bill was $400 more than what I was quoted the second time putting it at $1,900.00. After all this money my brakes were never fully repaired. They threw a bunch of parts at me trying to fix the problem and will charge you everything from shop rags to carb cleaner so don't expect any breaks or accurate quotes. -Shane McCormick

I evacuated Baton Rouge due to Hurricane Ida. When I got to Shreveport, my brakes failed. I brought my van in the next morning, they diagnosed the problem, and they said that it could be fixed the same day! I can now get back to my house (or what’s left of it) tonight! I have an 04 ford excursion that needed ball joints. I took in to Southern Automotive to have the work done. No problems at all! It was done on time, (I was wanting it done before we went on a trip, so that was important.) and the price was very fair! Anything else I have need of, I will be taking it to Southern.

Was referred by my employer. Service took 2 weeks to eventually even look at my car, and when they did, they made absolutely no helpful payment accommodations for a repair I could barely afford. Staff was rude, Karen made an immature comment about my Alma Mater college, which is absolutely no way to build customer rapport. Neither will I nor my employer bring any more of our vehicles to this location. Going back to Firestone.

The Ladies in the front office were exceptional at customer service! I was treated by all as a valued customer and not as a number! My windshield wipers stopped working suddenly, and I needed to get them fixed. So i got online, and this was really the first time that I've ever tried to use another mechanic. I chose Southern Automotive Services because they had a professional looking website, so I figured they would be professional, and they were for the most part. They got to my truck right away, and started diagnosing the problem, which was an $88.00 charge(not bad). So I get a call telling me that they haven't found the problem yet, so they needed to take the steering column off, what they didn't tell me was that in order to do so the mechanic was going to have to work after hours, and because the issue had to do with something electrical it would be $90 an hour. So the net day they call me and tell me what is wrong with the wipers and also gave me a quote, which was astronomical over $900. I told them I didn't want to do that and they put it back together no problem, and told me when it was ready. So I go pick it up, and they tell me the total is over $300 when I only showed up with a few dollars more to pay the diagnostic fee. So after getting that worked out, they ate the extra fees. The diagnostic was accurate, but I took it to my regular mechanic and got the problem fixed and an a/c belt installed for not even a fraction of the quote they gave me. They are very professional and open with you with most stuff. I would only use them if you are in a tight spot and you have a lot of money.

Only place I take a vehicle to now. Oil change may take longer than "quick" places but I know they did it properly and no one is in my face trying to "upsell" air filters, wipers, or other things I didn't ask for. Unlike another local Garage, this one didn't tell me I "had to have" sensors replaced... when all I requested was an oil change. Since when did Code Reading get added to an oil change?

Came to Shreveport to visit family with a missing front lightbulb on my hybrid car(my hybrid engine doesn’t have anything to do with my lightbulb). However, after calling over 7 autoshops in Shreveport for help with putting another lightbulb in even with taking some of the screws off only DAX stepped up and blessed me with my lightbulb issue. Even I don’t know anything else I know if I’m ever in need of great customer service and autocare Dax here at Southern Automotive Service is where I’m coming.

We wanted to get our son’s 2015 Tundra inspected,oil changed and door locks fixed before he left for college. We had an appointment at John Harvey Toyota for Monday August 18th. They hadn’t even looked at the truck by Monday the 25th. So, we picked it up and took it to Southern Automotive. They were able to diagnose the problem and fix it within 48 hours. I brought my vehicle in to have some wires repaired after a rat chewed them up. Dropped of my vehicle they quotes me a fair price and explained to me everything they where going to do. They fix my vehicle pretty quickly they even got done the day before Thanksgiving. When they called for me to come pick it up it was around 4:30 I told them I didn't have a ride tile after 5 they stayed open tile I could make it there. Not sure if they normally stay open tile 6 or not but still a nice thing. The next day some waring light came on saying something was partially working and I thought maybe something got wired wrong out of instinct. I call who ever the guy was that picked up was very professional didn't try to argue with me didn't act like I was just try to get one over on them just simple say briing it in when I get a chance and we will double check everything. Come to find out it was a bad battery I replaced and everything works fine. Will be a repeat customer.

I went to get my car inspection sticker they only had one year stickers. I gave Karen my keys I'm waited in the waiting room. I left $823 in $100 bundles and a rubber band in a fanny pack on my cup holder. My wife forgot to take the fanny pack out the truck when I received my truck $200 had been removed from my fanny pack. I called to report it to management and I was accused of setting them up is TJ the manager vouched for Karen working there for a long time and not stealing anything without even investigating my claim. We know how much we left in there because that money was to be dropped into Walgreens for my chime account. It was taken out of my safe right before that because we were rushing to get to jumaah prayer services because we're Muslim. We went directly to Walgreens and was able to make it to prayer services on time but we noticed at Walgreens $200 was missing and the rubber band was kind of moved and the money was sloppy and not neatly stacked how we had it. I am 110% sure Karen took the money.. I would not recommend anyone leave their vehicle with any valuables in their possession.
