Been with Eric for 20+ years. He provides good quality customer service at fair and honest prices. Most important to me is that the job is done right the first time. He is the only mechanic that will touch my car and I have referred him to anyone I know needs his services. Often times when mechanics see a woman walk into their shops, they are taken advantage of with price gouging&dishonesty but NEVER will you have that problem with him. If I ever came into some money I would actually wanna invest in a bigger shop for him. Please don't ever leave us Eric😂😂😂😂

Just wanted to say this place is great. I called right before I took my lunch break, I only had a small problem. A screw in my tire. Every other place I called couldn't get me, Southgate Auto said bring it on over. They got me right in, took the screw out and patched the tire, filled it with air and I was back on the road. The owner didn't even charge me :) they gave me great customer service!! I'll definitely be back!

South Gate Automotive just might be the best auto repair shop in the Fort Wayne area. The owner, Eric, has the perfect balance of knowledge, experience, and common sense. We took my daughter’s car to 3 different places and no one could diagnose it exactly except for one estimate for at least $3,250+. Eric fixed it in one day for less than $300. Great job.

This was the best experience I have ever had with an auto mechanic. They took a look at my vehicle and let me know they could not fix it. It was a transmission issue with a Subaru. Eric and his team are the real deal! He is very thorough in his diagnosis, so that you’re only getting the work done that you definitely need. I just bought a used a car and he got it fixed up to where it needs to be at a VERY reasonable price. Tony knows his stuff! Told him he’s my mechanic for life I’ll follow that guy wherever he goes. His knowledge base is off the chart. Need your car worked on go to him. My dad and I took him my car to that no one knew how to fix and he knew the problem with in 10 mins of me explaining it. Tell me how the DEALERSHIP that specialized and sells my car couldn’t figure it out after 5 trips and this guy just knew! Southgate is killing the game. I 10000% recommend bring any and all your vehicles here! Place is working on everything from Porsche to Honda to Ford to classics bro even had a Ferrari up in there. My family has been coming here since forever. Eric was good to us so we were nervous when he sold the business. When my sister in law first went in she didn’t care for the guy running the front she said but when I just recently went in that guy wasn’t there anymore and the guy we dealt with was great! Another shop basically tried ripping my brother off but the guy here, Tony (the guy kinda doing it all) was awesome! He was kind and honest with us. You could tell he isn’t one of those take your car for an oil change and he tried to make thousands off of ya kinda people. He told us exactly what was going on and gave us options to get it fix and did it all in the same day. I think he even may of stayed after hours to finish her car up. I told him I’ll make sure any and everyone I know only ever comes to him because there aren’t many mechanics or shops like this now a days. So if you actually wanna trust your mechanic go here ask for Tony! He is an actual person who cares and does the job right!!!
