I bought my Outback here in 2019. The buying experience was fine, but service and repairs here are overpriced, and then they try to up-sell you on everything. The staff are nice enough, but nothing special. I do like the perks tho; coffee/snack bar and dog grooming station in the customer waiting area. If I weren't constantly peppered with mailers and email ads (that you have to bring with you to your appointment in order to get the advertised price), and basic service were more affordable, I would give them 4 stars.

Ian, Stefan, and Lucky were great. They kept me updated through every step of the process and made sure to clearly communicate what needed to be done. Even with my late arrival to drop off my car, I felt like I received the same quality experience without being rushed at all. I received a very detailed explanation of the issues with my car that were taken care of, as well as other service recommendations that they didn't at all try to pressure me into doing at that moment. My car was finished in a very short time, and it is driving better than ever. I will happily make the drive here from Sandy to get my car worked on next time knowing I’ll have the best in person experience as well as quality work done to my car

Morgan is fantastic. Super knowledgeable, patient, and listens. He doesn’t give boiler plate scripted responses, and is honest. Had an issue with my AC, he listened closely, and CLEARLY communicated all available options. Highly recommend!

Im very disappointed in the service we received. We were barely acknowledged, which would have been acceptable on a busy day. But I watched as two other individuals of a lighter complexion were met at their vehicle and escorted to a service assistant. Im giving two additional stars for Alex Ornelas, because he helped us and made us feel seen.

Don't take your car here. I read another review that mentioned the "polite" and "friendly" service advisors but dont be mistaken. I had my car in for warranty work, they kept it for 1 week, during that time I was informed by the service advisor Dominque that I had an oil leak and needed a $1,000 service. I had told them my car was using more oil, i had to start adding oil in between oil changes which was new. I declined the service and took my car to a reputable, more truatworhty mechanic and he told me no oil leak, and said the engine uses more oil at higher mileage. Unfortunately friendly and polite does not equal honest. I will never go to the dealership again for service work.

Service Advisor Ray was extremely friendly and polite. He made sure my car was well cared for. Highly recommend him, even if you have to wait for his availability.

I’m new in town and I’ve had to bring my car in twice since moving to Portland. I’ve been very impressed by everyone’s friendliness and professionalism. This is a busy place, but looks like a well oiled machine to me. Oh, and they even have a doggie bath washing station. How cool, and how very Portland 😁 Feels good to have a good place to bring your car.

Very friendly, efficient, honest. There is a dog wash station while you wait for service on your car (get two things done at once).

The bad: 1/3 of the crew was not wearing masks. 1/3 of the crew was constantly pulling them down or to the side to talk to each other. I don’t know how they think masks work, but it’s not like that. I started taking pictures of the crew not wearing their masks and suddenly they all knew exactly how to wear a mask. When I got my car, they did absolutely nothing to disinfect. There was a plastic sheet over the seat, but that’s it. Beyond that, when I first pulled in, I requested that on top of the recall work they were doing, I would like them to check my wiper fluid nozzles, but please give me an estimate before doing any work. I said this three times, and it wasn’t until the last that the man mentioned there would be something like a $140 fee just to check. I understand some shops do this, but I’ve never been somewhere that was so secretive about it. I told him no thank you. The next day, they called me in the morning to tell me my brakes were “in the red” and almost shot, and I also had three bulbs out. I said no thank you. I told him I would like him to ensure that all of those concerns are inventoried for me when I pick up my car. My reasoning was that I just had the car inspected by another shop who told me the brakes were great. I go to pick up my car later that day and, like magic, there are only two bulbs out and the brakes are not in the red! In fact they have half their life left. These people are incompetent at best, and predatory liars at worst. The good: they got my car done in one day (although I had made an appointment and they said it would be 1-2 days, then when I came in they said it wouldn’t be done for 4-5 days). The lady who put me in a loaner was very nice, helpful, and followed basic guidelines of COVID safety. SUMMARY: There are way better places to go.

Dont waste your time. Appointments on the website are not appointments, just que spots. Even if they know it will be 5 days minimum until they get to your car, you cant bring it back later. If they are busy you are basically required to give up your car for a week. Then this guy says "ill get you frequent updates all week", never once reached out. When i reached out the next week about an update he basically says: "oh yeah i was going to message you yesterday but then forgot.". Not sure why he self reported being bad at his job. And then its the classic land of broken promises: "monday at the latest" into "we'll get it done this afternoon" (on tues) into "mid day wednesday" it should be ready to go. The sales people know nothing and are too confident giving incorrect or useless updates. And their entire workflow management process is trash in a way which ruins the customer experience. Just go to Subaru of Vancouver, you actually get in the day of your appt, and you save more time despite the farther distance from Portland

Excellent service here! We came for our car's routine maintenance—in and out in a couple hours, reasonable service fees, friendly and helpful techs, AND they have a dog washing station. I befriended a cavapoo named Sebastian. A good time had by all.

The only thing that is a certainty with this dealership is they will do everything they can to upsell and overcharge you while pushing unneeded service and “diagnostic” fees onto customers. Don’t even bother putting notes onto a service visit when you schedule online, because they won’t be read until you show up at the counter and then they’ll tell you to leave your car and maybe after five days of it sitting at the dealership they’ll get around to looking at it.

Last night our car was broken into and two windows were shattered. We stopped at Subaru of Portland Service this morning, and Tina helped us right away. She gave us a free quote and did a temporary fix on both broken windows so we could safely continue our road trip back to California, on New Year’s Eve, when almost everything else is closed. Tina was incredibly kind, welcoming, and thoughtful. We were traveling with our dog, and she even invited us inside to sit, warm up, and have some coffee while the car was being taken care of. Her support truly made a stressful situation so much easier. Thank you, Tina, for your kindness and quick help. We appreciate you more than you know!

Have been taking my 2009 Forester here for 7+ years for everything - from major services to oil changes. People always told me I was throwing away money taking my car to the dealer for every service but I figured they'd look out for my car and spot issues before they became major problems. Boy was I wrong. I should have known they were phoning it in because there were pretty major warning signs. Like the time I brought it in for a routine oil change 6 months after the 120k mile service and they old me my cabin air filter needed to be replaced. That's definitely something that should have been part of the major service but clearly they skipped it. They apologized profusely and swore up and down that it was an isolated incident. But what else did they neglect to do that I paid them for? I'll never know... The final straw came when, not 1 week after a routine service and inspection, my radiator failed. The off-dealership mechanic who diagnosed it for me was stunned when I told him it had been regularly serviced at Subaru and that they had missed the clear signs of failure at the last service. I called Subaru and talked to the service manager. His excuse was basically - we're really busy and have a lot of turnover - sometimes our newer techs miss stuff. So beware of bringing your car to this service center - clearly they don't care to QC anyone's work and are barely paying attention. From what I can tell, you could spend a lot less money and get better service at any run-of-the-mill repair shop. And Portland has some excellent Subaru mechanics, so it wouldn't be hard to do a lot better than these so-called experts. This experience left me with such a bad taste in my mouth I sold my Subaru and will never buy one again. Good riddance and good luck to anyone trying to get their vehicle serviced at Subaru of Portland. You're better off taking it to Jiffy Lube.

Absolutely exceptional service from Ray! Seamless experience after my car was towed in. Ray communicated clearly and regularly. He even came in on his day off (twice) to help! Ray worked hard and was sensitive to my budget in getting my car working. The team was great, thank you!

I wish I had taken my car to them earlier. I had taken the car to two different mechanics and neither found any issues with my car. I continued to hear concerning sounds and occasionally smell smoke in the cabin. When I finally got it to Subaru of Portland they quickly found answers to all my concerns and completed the necessary servicing to my transmission and replacement of a PCV valve. I ended up spend a lot less than I expected and am very happy with the service.
