I used to be a HUGE fan of Sumter Tire until I had a horrible experience while trying to get service Monday! I know they were busy, BUT, they told me there was nothing wrong with my car when I barely made it to the shop due to my car stalling along the drive there!! By the time I arrived, I had all kinds of flashing lights and 3 different service codes!!! They originally said if I left it they MIGHT be able to look at it, but when I asked for an update I was told they were bringing my car around so I needed to go home and come back tomorrow if the service codes came back on! They said it wasn't showing any codes and wasn't doing anything wrong! I asked if they could drive it so they could see the problem and was told they can't do that! WHAT???? I was appalled that I was just dismissed like that and basically told they didn't want my business! I once again stated that I barely made it there and lived 30 minutes away, so I didn't think I could make it home, let alone back!! They didn't care and gave me my key fob sending me on my way! I felt they were passive aggressively rude to me! I also witnessed them being rude to other customers. I understand being busy and probably overwhelmed, but there is never an excuse to be rude! FYI - I went straight to Firestone, they had a diagnosis in an hour and my car repaired in 4 hours for a very reasonable price! Thank you FIRESTONE in Oxford!!!

Great place. Knowledgeable and explained everything in detail. The dealership I usually go to told me I needed 3 things, reps said I needed none of those things. When I purchased my car, it had been in an accident, unbeknownst to me. Tires were wearing funny, they said it might be suspension, but wouldn’t know for sure until they saw it on the lift. I brought it back this morning, expecting the worst. They came and told me, the suspension was fine and all looked good. Being an elderly woman, I could have easily been ripped off and been none the wiser. Kudos to them and I highly recommend them. Honesty isn’t easy to come by nowadays.

My husband & I had a blowout on our camper while going down the the interstate and needed a new spare tire & rim. We called on a Friday afternoon about 30 mins before they were to close, and the extremely nice lady on the phone still told us to come in and they would help us. When we arrived we were greeted by a very nice young man who immediately began to help us, and even another to check that we were being helped. We were very impressed by how many technicians were there and working. We couldn't believe how quickly we were being taken care of! The nice young man did our paperwork while 2 other men, just as nice helped with the tire. When we went to pay, the extremely nice lady that I suspect answered our call, quickly processed us with a smile. There was even a 3rd helper that gladly brought a tool, and gave advice. The prices were just as fair as we would've paid anywhere, and the timeliness & service from all were a shock, when these are all but unheard of these days. With the heightened political environment, we were uncomfortable with the thought of being 2 married men in a Tire & Auto Shop, but we quickly realized we had nothing to fear. In fact, just the opposite! I've only written 2 reviews in my life, but I was compelled to write this note to not only Thank You all, but also for treating us kindly & with respect. With more businesses & folks like yours, there's hope for a kinder Florida!

Recently, I had some work done here, and something was a little off with my Outback afterward. I had been putting off bringing it back to have it checked, fearing it was unrelated to my original work and I would be out of pocket for something else. I ended up stopping by to get a tire patched that another shop refused to fix (even though the puncture was far from the sidewall); they just wanted to sell me tires. They patched my tire and I mentioned the noise in my front end, asking if I would bring it back in the morning to check it out. No problem. By the time I paid and was walking out, they were able to check my front end and found that the problem was a bad part from Subaru and will be taking care of the fix under warranty. I appreciate the quick response and wish I hadn't waited to bring it back. I would definitely recommend this shop to anyone worried they might be taken advantage of by a mechanic elsewhere. My initial repair, brakes, and an alignment were $500 less than the shop that pointed out I needed the repair during an oil change.

We stopped at Sumter Tire & Auto for an oil change for my wife's Jeep Wrangler. We didn't know they took appointments. We were impressed with everyone's helpful, service oriented attitude. We were squeezed into the schedule. Watching from an outdoor picnic table, we noticed one of the backup lights was out. We alerted the mechanic. We were happy to see that the mechanic check the security of the Jeep on the lift about an inch off the ground before raising it to overhead height. We were on our way in less than hour with fresh oil and a new back up light. We highly recommend Sumter Tire & Auto.

I have only been for when I take my work truck in, and I've only had tire issues luckily. The staff is super friendly and helpful, and they have done my tire changes/fixes in decent time too. They also have a nice waiting room that's air conditioned, adequate seating, and bathrooms. They also have some room outside to sit. Great place, and they're prices are pretty fair from what I've seen.

The next morning, after an oil change, I noticed the oil leaking on the floor. I was preparing to go out of state. I couldn’t get underneath my vehicle to tighten the nut myself to. I drove to the business. It was 710 when I reached the business to mechanics were sitting inside and I knocked on the window and I was told that they don’t open till eight. So here we are sitting in front of two doors with two mechanics and they’re on their phones and we’re waiting at the doors 50 minutes till 8 o’clock. Gentlemen had a horrible attitude. He says we don’t open till eight. There’s nobody here. I asked you could do it and he looked rather dumbfounded. Old values, old attitudes. Getting service here is a non-starter they just care about themselves.

There isn't enough Stars to give. I recently moved to the area and after checking with Next Door, there was no doubt this was the place to take my vehicle for an oil service. I drove up and walked in to the service center area by mistake and rather than be told the office is up front in another building, an employee took all the necessary info for the service then advised, in the future I can start in the office.
