Take 5’s Negligence Destroyed My Engine – Stay FAR Away If I could give zero stars, I would. I took my car to Take 5 Oil Change on January 3, 2025, expecting a routine service. Instead, I got a $10,000+ disaster. Just a month later, on February 4, my oil pressure light came on as I pulled into work. I checked the dipstick—the oil level was dangerously low. Not wanting to risk further damage, I had my car towed to the dealership, where they confirmed the shocking truth: • Take 5 left my drain plug loose, causing nearly all my oil to leak out. • The engine had already started eating itself alive—metal shavings were found in the oil pan. • The only fix? A full engine replacement. At this point, you’d think Take 5 would take responsibility. Nope. They did everything in their power to dodge accountability: • They claimed I was two days past their “warranty” period, as if that somehow excuses them from failing at the most basic part of their job. • They said taking it to a real mechanic voided the warranty—like I should trust lube techs over certified professionals when my engine is on life support? • They even tried blaming my wife, asking why she didn’t notice oil pooling under the car. Seriously? It’s the customer’s job to double-check their incompetence? Take 5’s negligence cost me an engine, and their response was to gaslight and deflect blame. This shop is an absolute joke, and I wouldn’t trust them to fill my windshield washer fluid, let alone touch my engine. If you value your car, your money, and your sanity, STAY AWAY FROM TAKE 5.

Don’t sound too good, My daughter had her oil changed and they strip the oil plug. They blamed it on the car and ask when she was getting a new one. Thats not service. $100 for a Honda Civic and its the cars fault ??

What a sleazy business practice. Huge sign up saying 25% off for military. Been going to this same location for a few years. This most recent time, they do my oil change, THEN they decided to tell me corporate said no more discount on synthetic blends. I called corporate, they said that's not true. I won't be back! PS - I bet they won't even put a genuine response and will just copy and paste something that has nothing to do with what I said. Edit: I did call and talk to the service manager. He didn't care.

Great team here and they are very welcoming. They are very efficient and always do a great job. I pulled in this morning and was welcomed with a bottle of water. You never have to leave your car. They service your car, change your oil and check your tires while you in your car. They do not overcharge and always remember to ask whether you have any coupons or military ID to make sure you are getting the best deals. This is my to go to place for oil change and other car service

I would say that the young man who did my oil change was courteous, quick and efficient. And he upsold me, I suspect unnecessarily, on a new air filter, but I am okay with that. What I will say, however, is that I will probably go back to America’s Best because while they are a little more expensive and take a little more time, they always check my tire pressure, test to make sure all my lights are working and top off all my fluids. I get that you can’t do that when your gimmick is “5 minutes”, but for $150+ the money is bigger than time.

Did not charged the price quoted. Questioned employee about it and he said that the way it is. That is false advertising! I told him I will not be back. This was my second trip. First one was six months ago, same car. Guess one of the many other oil change places will get my business. They even put to much air in my tires and told me that’s what they add with checking my door specs. Lowered each tire four lbs so it wouldn’t wear out early. Tire store did this for me.

I had the most amazing experience at Take 5 on 96 yesterday! I took my boyfriend's car in for an oil change, and I have to admit, I was so clueless about the whole process. But Griffin was an absolute sweetheart - kind, patient, and super knowledgeable. He walked me through every step, explaining everything, without making me feel stupid for not knowing anything about oil changes. I see why they’re named Take 5, because the service there is absolutely 5 stars! I drop by at the earliest they opened because I had a trip planned and I couldn’t go without my car being serviced. I felt bad at even having them work RIGHT at opening, but they got to BUSINESS AS SOON AS I pulled up!!! I met 2 of the most laid back, but professional service people you could meet (Omar and Alec). They were so kind , yet so goal-oriented and focused on getting me quick and efficient service, and it puts a big smile on my face to know that the grind still lives on !! Not to mention, the pricing was extremely reasonable as well, definitely good if you’re “balling on a budget”!
