I can't say enough about Tempe Auto Repair. They are hands down the best mechanics I have ever worked with. Jake is super dependable and honest. They are always more than fair on pricing and extremely quick on repairs. I wouldn't even consider anyone else for my car maintenance and refer them to everyone I know.

These guys rock!! I've been taking my 95 Tacoma here for the past 2 years, Most of the time I just show up and they are able to take my truck that day. I'm also surprised how fast they work. They are honest, have great prices, even took a mouse out of my AC blower fan for free. The best repair shop in Tempe hands down!!

I literally never write reviews, but this place was amazing. I don't know too much about cars, but I really thought I needed a new alternator. Called and Jim told me to drop it off any time, no appointment needed. Jim called me back about an hour after I dropped it off and said nope, just needs a new drive belt, and recommended another belt be replaced as well, and they'd have it done in 30 minutes. I was absolutely BLOWN AWAY when he told me the final cost of $268 -- I almost didn't believe him! I expected to pay about $1000, and a dishonest shop could have replaced the alternator and I wouldn't have asked any questions. I had an oil leak too, which they took care of for free. I may not have found anyone in the valley I trust to cut my hair yet, but I found my repair shop for life!

My first impression: this place looks shady! I wasn't sure I wanted to leave my car here. They do good quality repair work and they didn't overcharge me. Also, which I know is not the case with some places, my wife brought her car here on my recommendation and not only did they not try to rip her off, they charged her less than her initial estimate. I am a repeat customer, and we will keep coming back.

These guys are truly great. Called in the morning for new tires, alignment, and cooling system maintenance. Got me in right away, had my car back by end of the day. They were honest about other issues I had and what their priority levels are. Didn't price gouge, was billed a fair amount. Quality work, 10/10, will be my mechanic for all future work.

Something shady was up. Got a strong sense they really didn’t want to work on my car (AC issue) or give a shit about the issue being unresolved after 2 attempts. I like to support indie shops, but it was clear they just wanted me gone. Not returning.

Went in for ABS issues on my Jeep Wrangler, and when I got it back unfortunately the problem persisted. I took my Jeep back in and they fixed it up right away at no cost and no hassle. Stuff happens, not every job is perfect, but the way they handled it was very professional and earned my future business. And as an added bonus: they informed me of a recall on a part that I asked them to replace. So instead of charging me $900 and doing the work themselves, I was able to get it done for free at the dealer. Very respectable in my eyes, and an honest mechanic like these guys are getting harder to find these days.

After a couple talks with the guys there I could already tell that the attitudes and tones were off. Being brown in Tempe isn't common but still seems discrimination is still around. I went in for the prices of a couple things I was looking to get fixed, while I waited I could already tell by the looks they really didn't want me there, over simplifying language and stares were uncomfortable to say the least. As they gave me the rundown on prices ( which were absurdly higher than the shop just down the street). I chose to start with an oil change which they said would got 65$? I was confused because I've never payed more than 40$ for that specific oil and change. I later got that done for that price down the street. Once you go in you'll be able to tell want kinda customers they want, I assume the ones they can scam?

After dealing with an unprofessional and untruthful (telling me something was done, when it actually wasn’t!) shop of a national chain, I asked a buddy who was born and raised in the valley and he didn’t hesitate to recommend Tempe Auto Repair. Have been taking my cars here for about 10 years and have never been dissatisfied. I can drop off my car without an appointment and the work gets done that day. If you have questions they go into as much detail as you want, to explain why your car may need certain repairs, and if it can wait for another 30K miles (for example) they let you know that. Honest, reliable, straightforward. And a tiny waiting room without frills. I actually appreciate that! Highly recommend! Support local businesses!
