I called last week looking for specialty plywood. I assumed they didn't carry it and mainly wanted to know if they could order it. Within an hour somebody called back and said they had a different type of plywood in stock. I reiterated that I needed a different type. They said they would call me back the next morning, then asked a few follow-up questions. How much I needed and whether it would be a recurring order. I told them I only needed 3 sheets for a one time project. What a surprise. It's been 6 days now without a return phone call. If you don't want my business, just say so. ON EDIT: Are you serious? Somebody directed a low level employee to call me this morning and apologize when you could just as easily have told the general manager to call me. P.S. I've already found another lumber yard to fulfill my needs. It's a much longer drive but at least they didn't ignore me. 2nd UPDATE. The day after I posted my edit, my phone started blowing up. Seems like someone posted a craigslist ad in San Antonio for a free truck body and specific instructions to call instead of texting. The ad included my Florida cell phone number. Coincidence? He sold me exactly the right amount of lumber I needed, no hesitation. They also helped me tie everything down (at my own risk, as I was informed they’re not liable), and did an outstanding job.
