We had alternator trouble on the interstate. Guessing I had a little time before I ran out of battery we pulled off and found Tharp. They quickly diagnosed the issue got the part ordered and had us back on the road within 2 hours. But more importantly, than that they were kind but straightforward. We also witnessed 4 others receive service and were taken with how to the point and quick they were able to serve their issues as well.

After reading some of the reviews I was a little concerned about trying them out. I absolutely glad that I trusted my gut. They provided great service and my complete brake job was done on time as they suggested. They kept me informed as they completed the job. While I was there I was really impressed with Steve at the front counter. He was upfront and honest with everyone he spoke with and he didn't pull any punches. I prefer someone like that instead of the shops that sugar coat everything and recommend service and parts you don't need. That's my new local repair shop!

Steve and crew are top notch and have been nothing but trust worthy and dependable throughout the years I have brought my car and my kid's car to the shop. Steve will give you his honest, straight forward opinion on what's best for you and your automobile....even at the expense of him losing a few bucks because he seems to genuinely care about human beings. Everyone in the shop has always had a good attitude, been attentive and gotten the work done in an acceptable amount of time.

Scammer. One of these was my experience. The others are folks in our local community. “I used to send people there for ac work, after what I was told by one of my clients, I stopped referring them.” … “my Tahoe had a bad shake which they fixed the year before. Steve told me it couldn't be that! I said well part do break or can be defective. He said no It was something else. It would cost a couple thousand dollars to fix. I told him I would talk it over with my husband. My husband ended up fixing it for a couple hundred in parts. It also wasn't what Steve said it was. Took it back to Steve for an alignment. he told me if I didn't trust what he was telling me before, then why bring it back to his shop for an alignment? He went out ranting to his "mechanic" and then pulled the truck in and he looked at the work my husband had done. Then told me my husband did the work wrong! That my husband doesn't know what he's doing. I laughed at him. He's been a mechanic for 25 years. I only brought it to Steve originally because my husband works long hours and didn't have time to fix it. I would Never go back to that place.” … “I watched the tech install my lug nuts using his impact wrench without starting them by hand. He cross-threaded one. He continued to work it back and forth with the impact wrench until the stud broke off. Later, at the counter, the owner told me that the stud broke because it was old. He said it was safe to drive that way since 4/5 lug nuts were still working. I told him I stood there and watched as the kid installed the lug nuts without starting the threads by hand first. Owner became angry and irate.” … “We were told the tow was free if repairs were done. We agreed, then a call stating repairs would exceed $1k and that the car wasn't worth repairing to come pick it up. When we did I was charged over $200 for the tow!!” … “I went to them for just an oil change. I picked up the car and they tried telling me I needed a battery, mine tested "bad". I might believe them if the battery wasn't just a few months old. If they were going to scam someone, at least see if it was a new battery. I paid for the oil change and never went back to them again.” … “Steve calls me saying I needed to change my oil pan; that the drain plug was stripped and it will cost about $2,000 to repair. I said please show me the defect. He points out the drip and that the drain plug is not original for the vehicle, that it m had been replaced. We got a new brass washer and it hasn’t leaked. They tried to sell me thousands in labor to replace an oil pan when all it needed was a new washer to seal the oil plug. No apology. Steve was nasty and said he would never touch this vehicle again! The more we talked he became even more belligerent. I’ll never be back there.” … “I took my civic there for an A/C charge. He was such a smart ass when I dropped it off, bitching to me about customers not showing up for appointments. Not my problem Steve!! After the repair, the A/C worked for about 3 weeks and died. I later went to the Honda dealer to get a proper diagnosis. Turns out “know it all” Tharp and his crew put the wrong freon in the system. I would never direct anyone his way.” … “Do Not take your vehicle to Tharps complete auto repair!! Fixed the leak in one tire but not the other then argued that he was never told about the other tire leaking. Filled tires to pressure on tires instead of pressure on VIN plaque in door jamb.”

Great auto repair shop! I have taken my car here several times now and I always get great service! They diagnose my problem quickly, give me an honest price to fix it, and my car is always done when they say it will be. Great communication. The staff & owner work diligently to make sure I am satisfied. The owner & staff follow up with you by text to make sure that you are still happy after your visit & you’ve had time to drive. That is an added touch that I never get from the dealership. Thank you Tharp’s Complete Auto Care! I appreciate you keeping my car running in great condition. I drive a lot & it means the world to me to have a reliable auto mechanic that I can trust!

The owner Steve has texted me if my car is okay every 6 months. I have taken 3 different cars there and was never dissatisfied with the prices and their work for almost 15 years. And since I am disabled and can't drive I will still have my car there next week sometime for a lube oil and filter since it hasn't been driven since Oct 23 of 2024

Don't waste your time or your money here... This place is not worth visiting! They treat customers disrespectfully and even turn work away, when their shop is completely empty!! No customer service or people skills whatsoever. Seriously... Take your vehicle to an authorized Bridgestone Firestone, the closest Goodyear or other competitive service center nearby! Y'all should be more mindful of who and how you treat people, because you never know how influential they might be!!

If you're looking for discipline, precision, and the kind of military-grade attention to oil changes most civilians only dream of, this is your place. One guy at church said Tharps was only for suckers, but the crew calls you “brother” (which I liked), and they run a tight ship — oil changes every 3 months or 5,000 miles, wow, above and beyond the call of duty. Of course, those oil changes usually come with a full regimen: hoses, filters, etc… you’d be surprised how many of each your car has. I used to go religiously — if you’ve got the budget and believe in the gospel of ultra-clean filters, it’s worth it. A couple hundred bucks a visit, and you'll drive off knowing no spec of dust dared stay behind. Unfortunately, after my health insurance spiked, I had to downgrade to one of those $40 quick-change places. They don’t treat me like a brother, but at least they don’t replace parts lucratively and preemptively, in the spirit of preventive profitability. If my income ever climbs again, I’ll go straight back — where maintenance is sacred, filters spotless, and that wallet in your back pocket gets a full-service cleaning and rides a little bit higher at the end.

Steve & his crew did an absolute FANTASTIC job on my Sorento! The staff is friendly, polite, and professional. Steve is kind, straightforward, honest, reliable, great communication, a man of integrity. Prices are fair and reasonable. Text check-ins a few days after service to make sure your car is running smoothly, no issues. Tharps is truly the best auto repair shop! Been coming for years. Highly recommend. Excellent service!

terrible customer service, went to get the car fixed and instead of it getting fixed i was told they couldn’t put the parts on and was forced to pay for a “diagnostic” instead never asked for one of those had that done at 5 other places do not recommend this place. on top of that they have a fee for literally anything and everything you could think of

Steve was extremely helpful and kind. I respect any mechanic who can explain the complexities of car issues to someone who’s inexperienced with the subject!

I won’t take my car anywhere else. I found Tharps by accident and am so glad I did! They are honest and no nonsense. Had tires put on my car at a very reasonable price. It kinda feels like a hometown service center. They are straight up and didn’t try and take advantage of me (which has happened at most other places). They towed my car and had it ready when they said it would be. Thanks for your great service! Update: I have sent one of my co workers here recently. She’s also impressed with Tharps.

I was recommended to Tharps by a friend and they didn’t disappoint! I had an issue with my compressor in my car, it would blow hot air sometimes. I dropped it off to Tharps and they quickly diagnosed the issue and repaired it for a very reasonable price. Safe to say I can trust these guys! I recommend Tharps to anyone in need of car service as you’ll get a fair assessment and quality work! Thanks again guys!

I rate this place 0 stars. The owner(Steve) is the worst. Especially if you are a woman. He was very rude and disrespectful. I've never been accosted by anyone in the manner he came at me. He's a big Bully. This is our conversation. I didn't include video, I was trying to be respectful.

Make sure you take you valuables out of your vehicle before a test drive. Had cash taken from wallet. Absolutely zero way to prove it. Will never go this place again. Past experiences were good. Really sucks.

Tharp's is the only place I'll take my car. They have always taken care of me quickly for flats. Last week I needed new tires. Steve was great and got them ordered and installed quickly. He even contacted the next day to make sure everything turned out perfect. Tharp's really goes above and beyond! Thank you guys!

As everyone knows it's so hard to find a autorepair shop that you can trust and are diligent to work on the vehicle until they resolve the issue. I worked in the automotive industry for 25 years.Steve Tharp and his crew are very professional upfront, honest and reasonably priced. There are many shops here in Brevard, and I have been through many. I would highly recommend anyone who needs their car repaired go to this shop, for you will definitely leave with a peace of mind and a car that is safe to drive your family in. I offer my sincere thanks. After five shops and I don't even know how many repairs my car is finally running as is should. Blessings to you and your family Mitzi
