Helped me in a jiffy, friendly staff. Adjusted valves Set timing Fixed my cold start leak that I tried everything on. Fixed the small things in my truck I didn’t ask him to, now I can open and close my door without handle popping out. very nice folks at this shop, willing to work hard and go the extra mile to make sure you’re comfortable driving around. Let me start this with I own a few car dealerships in WA state and know a MECHANIC (Not a "tech that replaced parts") when I talk to one. I found Hector by accident as I was buying a boat in CA and needed the trailer looked at before shipping it up to WA. Hector and his team went way beyond the call of duty. He is a true Mechanic that fixes things. He was more than fair on pricing. If you need a vehicle worked on in his area this guy is your guy! I can not thank him enough for his professionalism, how he deals with his customer, and just flat going the extra mile for a customer over 1,500 miles away that he has never met. Hector, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. If you ever move to WA you are hired at any of our stores!

My car battery died after work and AutoZone was the only place open. Went to AutoZone to buy a new battery and they told me they couldn’t install it but they recommended Hector at The Auto Doctor. I called expecting to leave a message since they were closed, to see if I could get in for the next morning. Hector answered and told me since I was close by he could replace the battery tonight. Pretty fair prices for South OC. Great customer service. Can accommodate you last minute, within the same week. They work on anything and everything, from German to Japanese to American to Korean. They provide honesty, transparency, and no frills. They can order parts, or you can bring your own. Whichever is more affordable/accommodating for you. Overall, underrated shop.

We were on our way back to San Diego and we were two frightened girls who didn’t know what to do bc the bumper piece kept scraping the floor when driving. The Auto Doctor is a Hidden Gem! Hector and his team are incredibly professional and, most importantly, honest! My son was on his way to work when, out of nowhere, his car started shaking. We were so relieved to find The Auto Doctor, and they took care of everything quickly and efficiently. I also want to give a big shoutout to the AutoZone in Dana Point for highly recommending this place—I’m so grateful for the referral! We showed up on a Saturday, right before closing, and despite the timing, Hector was so kind and professional. He didn’t hesitate to stay late just to take care of my son’s car so we wouldn’t have to go through the hassle of renting one. What impressed me even more was that Hector and the other mechanic took the time to show and explain things to my son so that, in the future, he could save money and have the knowledge to handle certain situations on his own. Hector saved our bacon!!! What started out as a user error mishap that could have derailed our road trip to central California (we accidentally put too much oil in our vintage VW van) turned into a blessing in disguise. Hector went above and beyond, coming by the shop last minute on a Saturday afternoon to help us after we were calling around desperate to find a mechanic that was open, being stranded only 30 minutes from home. As soon as we got there and saw all the vintage cars we knew we were in the right place. Hector and his team are thorough and have great problem solving skills,a ton of experience and knowledge, and a can do attitude. Hector not only helped us with the oil issue but also tightened my v belt, connected some loose ends and just generally gave my vanagon some TLC. My boyfriend and I had both taken a week off from work and because of Hector we were able to make it up to Santa Cruz to enjoy our trip and visit friends and family. My old van easily made it 1100 miles after visiting auto doctor! Highly recommend and I will bring my van in from Oceanside because these guys really know what they are doing! A million stars!!! Wow, I cannot say enough good things about Hector. I didn't think there were any mechanics that were this honest. I had taken my car into Tesla because it was making a noise while I was steering the car. They wanted to charge me $2700 for new Control arm and bushing. So I took my car back and brought it into Hector and nothing was wrong with my car except loose bolts . Absolutely nothing wrong with my car except loose bolts . Unbelievable, shame on Tesla Thank you million times over Hector!
