Tire Express & Oil Change quoted me $1,845 to repair a coolant leak — parts and labor. Thankfully, I found Gary the Road Toad, and he got the job done for under $100 in parts and less than $300 in labor. Same repair, same result, just without the outrageous markup. Working in the HVAC industry, I know all too well how some big companies pad their prices to make a profit — often to the point of being unfair. Gary? He’s the complete opposite. Fair, honest, straightforward, and extremely knowledgeable. And the best part? He’s mobile. He comes to you. Today, he showed up again to replace my valve cover and gasket due to an oil leak — no hassle, no drama, just a guy who knows what he’s doing and takes pride in helping people. Gosh where to start this guy is amazing! He came out so promptly took care of business and was so reasonably priced. I've been trying to get this job done for months. It's such a relief to have it done and a comfort to know there is a mechanic out there I can trust as a single female car owner. I trust him completely. And I'd like to add, I did read the poor reviews and they don't even sound like the same person I was dealing with. My guy was everything they complained about. He was polite, responsive, reasonably priced and he cares about his customers. I can't imagine those people dealt with Gary. I noticed they didn't use his name. Makes you wonder.

My experience here was a very positive one. I called Mr. Gary up one day because I needed same day assistance. He was able to diagnose my issue that same day and get the part ordered. The following morning, the part arrived and Mr. Gary was prompt to arrive and begin the radiator replacement. Apparently, my Silverado radiator runs engine coolant through one portion and transmission fluid through another. Despite this, Mr. Gary was efficient and completed the replacement in under two hours. This includes refilling the coolant reservoir and checking the system for additional issues. Mr. Gary was a consummate professional from the first phone call to the final evaluation. All things considered, it could have been a much worse experience.

This was my first time ever using a mobile mechanic, and it was such a positive experience. Gary communicated with me right away about my van and was able to come out the very next day. He showed up in a fully equipped service truck with every tool imaginable, ran a few tests, and quickly got my van up and running again. I was genuinely impressed by how he troubleshooted the issue and explained what he was doing along the way. You can tell he has 30 years of experience, he’s calm, knowledgeable, and clearly knows his craft. On top of that, he’s just a really nice guy. Glad to have a good mechanic now!
