Tim Bland is someone you can trust to tell you the truth& not take advantage of a situation. He is here when you need him to let you know what is going on& what is not when it comes to your ride. He's schooled enough in his craft that there are times all he needs to do is ask questions about the situation in order to know where to start. I have a Ford suv that went into limp mode due to not having enough gas going up a hill at a stop light. Instead of charging me a fortune for a diagnosis, he knew the problem from my info& the dash lights that came on. I was towed to his shop by asap towing& this guy was as genuine as Tim. Tim hooked up his code reader& when it read no codes available, he laughed& we discussed the limp mode. With it being an issue with the gas level, which wasn't enough to leave me stranded but enough to make my suv shut down so as not to cause further damage, I was given great advice. I'll be back in the next couple weeks to address other issues. Great guy! Kind of guy you're glad to have as a friend! Solid as they come! A family business that will go on for decades!

Our first time using this repair facility but it certainly won't be the last. Tim is about the most forthright and upstanding guy you could ever meet. My repair estimate was clear, honest, and came in just $45 from the actual cost. When taking your vehicle to Tim's, customers should not be in a hurry to get your vehicle repair complete. The philosophy there appears to be performance of a thorough job and attention to detail is more important than how quickly the service gets completed. Not a negative unless you need your vehicle fixed right now. For future vehicle repairs my vehicles will definitely be going to Tim's for as long as he decides to continue doing this kind of work.

I have gone to Tim's since I have drove a vehicle. His son Chris is just as good as his dad. It's true what they say. You get what you pay for and with that you get honesty and good estimations on time to repair the issue(s) on your vehicle. The best thing to do is make an appointment and one of the guys and/or the boss lady in the office there will get you scheduled. In my book these guys and this place is top notch and they treat you like a family because at Tim's it is a family business. Patience is a virtue but here it's worth it!!

17 hours away in Texas and my daughter who is in college in South Bend calls me with car trouble, and of corse it’s cold and snowing. When she told me what the car was doing I had her shut the car off and to park the car and my heart sank. I know it wasn’t feasible for me to drive up especially not knowing what part availability would be like when I got there and the thought of finding a shop that was both knowledgeable and honest would take advantage of my daughter and the fact I was far away was weighing in my mind. I prayed, and then I immediately started looking for local shops online. I have a back ground as a car technician and I knew what was wrong but didn’t really know what caused it. After filtering through a dozen or so reviews I called and spoke to Tim explained what happened and what I knew. He was very personable and professional and I felt very comfortable having the car towed to his shop without calling anyone else. He got to it quickly, verified what had broken and found the cause. (Many shops would have just replaced the part and not looked far enough to see what caused the part to fail. There’s bad reviews all over the web to prove this happens often). Tim called me to update me and get approval to make the repairs, ordered parts and got the car going within hours of the parts arriving and the bill was less than I expected. I can’t express how nice it was to deal with Tim. I appreciate his knowledge and the fact that I never for one second felt he was anything but 100% fair, honest and through. As a Dad of a young daughter 17 hours away, that is priceless. I cannot recommend Tim’s Auto Repair enough. Tim, if you see this, this Dad from Texas sure appreciates you sir and I pray God continues to bless your business!

I am happy to say that I have been trusting Tim with my car ever since I moved to South Bend four years ago. A couple years later, my mom moved up here as well, and since then he has been taking great care of both of our cars. Tim is incredibly knowledgable, does quick work, and most importantly, is honest and fair. I have never been oversold or upcharged, and every repair that he and his team have done has stuck. I couldn't recommend Tim's enough!

Tim is your guy! Similar to another reviewer, I live in Illinois and my daughter lives in Indiana attending school. She came out from school one day and her car wouldn’t start. Obviously I’m not familiar with any auto repair shops in South Bend, so I searched the internet. I found a review from a previous customer who lived in Texas and had a similar situation as mine with his daughter. He raved about how great Tim was, so I decided to give Tim a try. Tim did not disappoint!! He was very thorough with his work. He was quick! And best of all, he was affordable! Thank you so much, Tim for looking out for my baby girl and relieving this worried mama! I was pleasantly pleased at how comfortable I was made to feel upon coming through the door. His professionalism and knowledge about my particular problem with my car was amazing. He explained everything in layman's terms, the conversations were had with eye contact, very important to me and that he did. I allowed him to fix my vehicle, very reasonableprice, and when I came the next day he walk out with me....to find everything was fixed with a smile , it was a very nice experience. I called Tim's Auto Repair on 4/29/25 with an emergency brake situation, and despite being obviously very busy, Chris was able to work me in and fix my car same day! Not only that, but he saved a caliper that he *absolutely* could have replaced (my brake pad was basically gone and everyone I spoke to said to expect a caliper and system bleed charge) and I wouldn't have thought twice about paying it; but he was able to save it and me some money. Friendly and fair service, I will absolutely be back.

I’ve taken my car to Tim for years. I always recommend Tim to others for this quick, reliable, and affordable care. Recently I had to take my car and my husband’s within a week or 2 of each other. Both times I called and got an appointment the next day or within a few days. Both jobs were completed within one day (except my husband’s who Tim was waiting on a part for that took 2 days but Tim informed us of). Very reasonably priced.

I brought my car in and told the shop upfront that the issue was the timing cover. The mechanic accepted the job. Later that day, he informed me he was refusing the repair because it would take too much time. He then attempted to charge a diagnostic fee, even though I had already identified the issue when I dropped the car off. When I questioned the fee, he told me I had an “attitude,” hung up on me, and refused to allow me back into the shop. He left my car parked off a busy highway with the keys in the ignition. I did not feel safe with how hostile the owner “Tim” was towards me and do not recommend. I wish I could give zero stars.

I would not take my vehicle here again. They charged me $125 for a diagnostic test which I also did at O'Reilly's for free and they didn't fix anything on it. I asked if they could replace 2 of my spark plugs that I couldnt get out and they didn't even do that. My truck was giving me a fail safe mode and I ended up figuring it out myself and was just a fuse. $125 paid for no fix.

I am from Alabama. I use my car as my office for work. While at my sister's house I pulled out and noticed a crap ton of oil. My brother in law recommended Tim's. We pulled in and told Tim what was going on. Tim called the KIA dealer and got the part delivered. He told me he would work me in. Two hours later, Tim is calling me telling me that car is fixed. Highly Recommend! Had brought my car originally into Skile’s for oil change and came out with a laundry list of over $7k in repairs. Took it to Tim’s instead and spent barely $500. Tim is honest, and has your best interest in mind. Very reasonably priced, and efficient! Dropped my car off on a Friday morning and was done by noon that day. Overall great service and customer care! If you need your car serviced, Tim’s is the place to go!
