For 3 weeks, I called trying to find out the status of my car. They would never return my calls or give me an update. Finally, they called me to let me know that they weren't interested in doing the job and told me to come and pick up the car. This was told to me as they were closing for a 3 day weekend. I was forced to wait 3 more days before I was allowed to pick my still broken car. This is the most unprofessional service I've ever experienced. Highly disappointed. 😞

I highly recommend Tim's for any car issues. They are fairly priced, honest, and experienced mechanics who know what they are doing. I feel extremely lucky to have found them when my car started to have engine issues and they helped me decide if it was worth fixing or to start looking for a new car. Can not say enough positive things.

I came in with a mysterious check engine light on and Tim ran some tests on my car, found the issue and had me out the door quickly. I came in from Austin to visit my family and was very impressed by the speed. The staff was very friendly and helpful also! I was very happy with the service. Our car is a 2006 VW New Beetle. We came in with an engine light that two other shops could not or would not fix. One of the shops gave a huge estimate and then said they didn't have the parts..Tim's not only fully repaired the Bug, but did it for half the estimate of the other shop. They were very friendly and professional. I highly recommend and will definitely be using them in the future.

Polite staff, easy to work with, my car repair ended up being twice the anticipated price, but from what the shop said it was no fault of their own. If you need or want an immediate answer from them, I’d suggest stopping by in person. I would consider going back for future repairs.

I love this shop! I can’t say enough good about Tim, Pat, and the mechanics! I came to Tim’s German Auto after talking to Pat on the phone and loved how she took her time with me and listened to my auto needs. I was able to wait while they diagnosed my car versus some of the dealerships saying it would be 24-48 hours before a diagnosis. 😏They were honest because they told me I didn’t need a service that another shop had tried to upsell me on. 🙏🏼These are good, honest folks that you can trust and people like them are hard to find these days. Tim's has done excellent work on my 2013 Jetta for a reasonable fee over the last 3 years. Also, they have been very pleasant. Last time I was there early morning and got surprise breakfast tacos. Time before that I got a free t-shirt. These folks are cool, they do good work, and you should bring your VW here instead of the dealership. I've read some negative reviews for Tim's. Thing is, the whole transaction works better when the owner takes responsibility for their vehicle. Just like on the road, you are in control. These are German cars, not Japanese. They'll run for a long time if AND ONLY IF you follow the maintenance schedule. Bring your car to Tim's for that and don't let them talk you into a new clutch. Tim, you must be patient. That money job will come in the fullness of time.

Tim and team are helpful, faithful and honest. Its hard to find a service center with one of those characteristics, let alone all 3. I'm constantly grateful for the work they do and my family wouldn't take our VW’s anywhere else. I think the best way to discern the honesty of a car repair/service center is when you bring it in with a question and they tell you that the repair you thought you needed isn't necessary. I can always trust that Tim and team will keep my car safe, running and never charge me for something that isn't necessary. Check them out!

9/10/2025 - I called Tim’s German Auto to ask about registering a new battery for my Mercedes-Benz. I spoke with Sergio, who told me they would refuse service if I only wanted the battery registration and didn’t agree to additional service checks. This was disappointing because my request was very specific and straightforward. I was looking for help with a single task, not a sales pitch for extra work.

I had been having some issues with my 2018 Beetle, including the headlights going in and out. The Autobahn quoted me $3000 to fix just one headlight. I decided to get a second opinion at Tim's, and I'm glad I did! I feel like they actually listened to me, and didn't try to upsell me unnecessary things. The Autobahn said I would have to replace the entire headlight fixture, but Tim's found that you could indeed only replace the bulb, for a fraction of the price. If you have a VW and you're tired of feeling taken advantage of, and like you can't even take your car in for a simple oil change without ending up spending thousands of dollars, check out Tim's! They were amazing!

I came in today for an oil change, to verify previous work done, and to ensure my car was in good order at the 90K marker. They were busy and short handed. Despite this they worked me in and found that my oil pan needed to be replaced. They were professional, worked was completed in a timely manner, and went the extra mile when they didn't have to. Walked in with my 2017 VW Jetta GLI for an oil change and was in and out in ~30 minutes. Sergio at the desk was great—clear, honest, no upsell nonsense. Correct oil spec, new filter and gasket, fluids topped, quick inspection. Price was fair and the car runs smooth. Feels like a true mom-and-pop German shop that actually knows VWs. Way better experience than the dealership. I’ll be back.
