I was referred to Toole's by my MaxCare warranty for my 2014 Honda Accord. From the moment I set up my appointment till the moment I picked up my car----SUCH A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE! Rafael was able to answer some general questions on the phone. Luckily, he was the one to welcome me the following day as I dropped off my car. I received a call from Rafael later in the day stating the findings and how they fixed them and were hoping I could drive the vehicle around to make sure the "weird" noise was gone. I showed up, took it for a spin and YUP---noise was gone. Who knew something so simple (in my eyes) could stress me out that much. I paid them, and received a receipt and detailed report, complete with pictures to my email. Plus, and this was a NICE detail...my car was vaccumed and windows/dashboard cleaned. My car looked AMAZING! Thank you Rafael and staff for ALL your help and efforts. You have made a happy customer out of me.

I wholeheartedly recommend Toole’s. From the first phone call to me driving my fixed car home, these guys were first rate at every step. I needed a long overdue tuneup. I found them to be very upbeat, friendly and transparent. First - they explained their process and prices clearly. That process included taking detailed photos of the car when they received it and texting me a link to my work order. As they worked on the car, they uploaded those initial photos and a checklist of the work scheduled. As they completed each task, they checked it off the list and offered recommendations - complete with photos of the parts they suggest repairing. You have the option to approve or disapprove of the recommendations with one click. Zero pressure. The car? It’s running like a dream again. Thank you guys! Best mechanics I’ve come across in the 25 years I’ve lived in the valley.

After meeting with Alex on Friday, going over the car. What would happen with the garage receiving the car on Monday! Keeping me in the loop, about the finds & what needed to be done, regarding priorities. Which was not what I brought the car in for initially. But they did just what they said they were going to do! Openly communicating any concerns or issues with the vehicle! I found them to be very professional, reasonable & competitive in there prices! Very easy to talk with, understanding the work that’s being done. I would highly recommend Toole’s Garage, to any new customers looking to have quality work or services done on their vehicles!

Probably would never bring any of my cars here again. Brought my truck in for a diagnosis and quote to repair. The timing chain needed replacing which is a big job for this truck as the engine has to be removed. Finally got the estimate from Tooles and was quoted a ridiculous amount of money. $199 an hour plus over $2,000 in parts. This is a 2005 Ford, the parts are readily available from many different suppliers. I couldn’t understand why they would charge me 25% more for parts than if I bought directly from Ford themselves. It became very obvious after speaking to them on the phone that they just didn’t want this job. Took my truck for A Care Auto Repair and was quoted $1500 less. They actually want the work. If you don’t want the job then just be transparent about it. Don’t send me an estimate that makes no sense. For example, a $38 oil filter. What? Just tell me you don’t want the job. It was really a waste of $199 diagnostic fee because they didn’t tell me anything I didn’t already know, just wasted my time with that inflated estimate which took nearly 2 days to receive.

I was very impressed, as was my car-guy brother in law. I took a new-to-me 2014 Volkswagen Eos in for a checkup. They provided me with a very thorough description of what they looked at and what they found. I chose to have them fix everything, which was pricey, but I have no idea what to compare it to. The car runs beautifully now. The staff were very professional and personable. The two guys I dealt with clearly love cars, love a challenge, and love hard work. I felt I was in excellent hands. I rate them as outstanding.

From the time we walked through the door it was apparent that we were going to receive good service. Alex was very helping in guiding us with the process of doing business with them. We also like the idea of showing us the work progress on the truck with the video and giving us thorough pricing expectations. The shop and office area were exceptionally clean, a good indication of the type of work they would perform. We were incredibly pleased to see that our bill was lower than quoted, which does not happen too often when having automotive work completed. To top it off, the truck was completed days ahead of time estimated. Great Job!

Avoid this expensive unprofessional mechanic shop! Based on my professional experience as a heavy duty mechanic, I cannot recommend Toole Garage. Their work on my Land Rover Defender—a costly fuel pump installation—was revealed to be dangerously substandard by another mechanic. The fuel lines were loosely secured, demonstrating a negligent disregard for basic safety protocols. The significant expense of their service is not reflected in the quality, which is profoundly unreliable. This discovery led me to cancel further scheduled work on another vehicle Hummer H1. Rafael has dual personality one which is extremely nice the day u first come and second is opposite of all that because now ur stuck with them, i told him how unprofessional the job was he wasn’t even sorry once about it!

I had an awesome experience taking my car in for an oil change. I got a flier in the mail for a $60 full synthetic oil change. This is much better deal than anywhere else in town. I spoke with Frank and he was able to do it same day. It also included a full inspection and diagnostic. They tested my battery, inspected my tires and belts and fans all for $60 bucks!!! That’s a steal when jiffy lube charges almost $100. In addition to that they took pictures of everything thing they inspected and uploaded it an a really cool dashboard that I could access. I am so impressed with this garage that I now found my new mechanic shop. Open, honest and transparent service. Can’t say enough nice things about this shop. Also awesome showroom and plenty of parking.

I had a very positive experience at Toole's Garage. Rafael was exceptionally welcoming, friendly, and informative. It was almost fate that I experienced a car issue right in front of their establishment. In short, the overall experience was excellent. The only aspect that could be improved was the pricing, as I felt it was slightly high. Specifically, the test and analysis cost $200, which seemed a bit excessive. I believe that a price of $200 would be fair if we had decided against having the car serviced at that location. However, considering I did choose to have the service performed there, and the total cost amounted to $800.00 (for a rather easy fix), I feel the $200 should've been waived. This is how the other mechanic shops do business, in my past experience. However, their customer service is truly outstanding. After resolving the initial problem with my car, they identified another issue that requires attention. I do intend to return to them to address this additional concern. Update (9/15/2025): Since my first visit, I have returned to Toole's Garage twice more, and Rafael & Doc have consistently provided excellent service. The second visit was to address a pulsation damper leak, and the third was to repair my AC system. They are truly genuine and honest guys, and they have certainly earned my trust. I am very pleased to have discovered such a fantastic auto shop in central Stockton. The prices for the last two visits were also pretty reasonable. These gentlemen are wonderful!

Staff was very friendly and helpful. I had them do a full inspection on my car. They found a few things that needed attention. They fixed a vibration/shaking of the vehicle which resulted in a high-priced repair of removing & replacing suspension control arm. They also removed and replaced spark plugs, remove and replace battery, and replaced breaks front and back. The prices were high although I didn't have time to compare other auto repair garages because I was leaving out of town two days later. I'm so glad I had it checked and feel safe in my car because of their dedication to the repairs. They also gave me a ride home which was really nice! I would recommend them.

These guys go above and beyond.. Took our 2004 Dodge ram 1500 5.7 l for an engine diagnostic. Performed a long block replacement, front and rear suspension , replace all four tires and repair an EVAP issue.. got it smogged. the truck is a ticket magnet now, absolute beast.. highly recommend this shop.. the staff knows their stuff, very professional no runarounds, straight to the point and no bs. Very pleased with the work performed . highly recommend... They work on all our vehicles.
