I would stay away from this place. The owner is incompetent. He could not even properly tighten a cover. Said cover was falling off as I was driving southbound on the 99 freeway. I had to stop in the middle of the freeway to literally take it off as it was dangling from the bottom of my car.

Had many Luxury cars serviced at different locations but Bob's German Automobile has been the worst Customer service nightmare ever. Since Chris the Son has taken over the business from his Dad Bob the shop now is a major disaster. Bob Should have taken his good name off the Business begore handing it over to his Son Chris !

They did a wonderful job on my Audi TT. A few months after repair a sensor went bad. They were the only place locally that had the sensor in stock and to my surprise sold it to me!!! I will be going back in the future.

OLD SHOP. OWNER is a old man paying his overpayed son. If you like dealing with that typical bargain shop then shop here with Mr. Bob who does not care about his business any more and just loves his retirement. Your VW is not in good hands if left here. They are unreliable and will not tell you that they use used refurbished products to help up profit on their cheap labor. Just go to another Vw shop in the near by cities. As you can tell from the reviews above, he has gone to court more than once to protect his small margins. I got work done to 2004 Jetta timing belt, water pump and power steering and I left with un easy feeling wondering how my timing belt job was done once I went back to get my power steering look at after his work cause more trouble and his response to us was that they did not see that this issue and to correct it will cost me a few more $$$, hmmmmm. heed my warning, this shop has no values, no morals, and is a self indulging shop just scratching by. ITS A TYPICAL STOCKTON MECHANIC SHOP!!! You will deal with the owner so you better have your negotiation skills ready. if you are upset with this shop and got unsatisfactory work then go after his business BOND thru the state board called the Bureau of Automotive Repair and complain their to get money back.

Super honest. They have repaired my vehicle a couple times and it has always been less expensive than I thought. Most recently, they could not repair it and charged me $0.00 after having it over 24 hours not even a diagnostic. I really appreciate that level of honesty, it’s not really something auto repair places are known for so it’s very refreshing when you find it.

Complete waste of time... I called Tuesday (May 2nd) to get a quote to get my alternator pulley replaced that I diagnosed myself. Guy answered was neither rude nor friendly but gave me an estimate of $380 and that he needed to order the parts. Also said he's never seen that before. I say ok and he askes when i can come in and I say this Friday if that's possible. I get there at 7am and when I told him what I was there for he remembered and said "your going to leave your car here right". I didnt expect that but I say ok and that he would give me a call around 10am. Fast forward to almost noon and he calls me saying its coming from the alternator and he'll work on a quote for me...... another hour passes and he tells me I need a new alternator and gave me a quote for $910.... I politely declined and picked up my car where I was charged $121 for a diagnoses. I knew what the issue was I was under the impression I was coming in for a repair NOT to get my diagnosed just to tell me it was what I said it was.. plus it CAN be justr the pulley and not the whole alternator. They are replaceable on these cars. All in all I wasted 6 hours of my life and basically lit $120 bucks on fire, complete waste of time...

They’re great and their turn around time is amazing. Brought my car in for a water pump and thermostat housing replacement and got it back the next day. Had a really good experience with this spot. First time customer, brought my family's Audi Q5 to have the brake latch replaced. I let the owner know the problem with my brake latch, and he insisted on taking a look before ordering any parts to ensure best quality service. After the part was ordered, I brought my car in for the repair and it was complete within 30 minutes. When I returned for pick up and payment, the owner was extremely accommodating when discussing and assigning pricing to the job. I appreciated the work and communication here, would recommend to anyone.

We had an issue with our bug last year, with a window not rolling up or down. We came to Bob's on a recommendation for the repair, Joe was informative and helpful, and gave us a fair price. A few weeks later my daughter hit a pretty big pothole that's cause some leaking. Bobs was the only option. I would recommend Bob's and Joe for any German car/VW repairs.

First off this is going to be a long review and it is going to be well worth the read. I was referred to Bob German Auto Repair to get my car fixed because someone ran into the back of my car. I have been in the body shop business for 15+ years on the clerical side and I have seen a lot of bad customer service, so I was very reluctant to try a shop that I have not heard of yet but the person who referred me has been in business in Stockton for around 25 years so I trusted the process and as of right now they have kept me in the loop on each process and I must say I am very happy they actually found some extra work that needed to be done and got it approved through my insurance company the best part of this situation is they have been communicating to me on each step, which is very important to me. This review will be continued once I receive my car back so far so good. I just picked up my 2017 Honda Accord they replaced my rear bumper and repaired a few other areas and they did an amazing job, he also got my headlights polished!! Great surprise on that. Joe made this experience super easy he went over and beyond to make sure my insurance company took care of everything. Thank you Joe and everyone at Bobs German Auto Auto Repair for a beautiful job and easy experience.

Very very bad customer service Joseph Garcia was working on my car did not fix it properly charged me $3580 for nothing to be fixed and when I run my car back for him to fix it he did not want to fix it poor customer service This place needs to be shut down
