Matt was extremely helpful with calling people in the area and even speaking to my parents on the phone! I am so thankful for their help!

My opinion of Tuscaloosa Superduty Services (TSS) is BE AWARE: I’ve used them twice, and there won’t be a third time. Read and decide if these are deceptive or bait-and-switch practices. After the truck was dropped off, TSS changed the original total quote of $1200 to just the cost of the power steering box. They stated that prices had gone up for the item. They also attempted to upsell us on the replacement of tie rods, drag links, etc. Knowing this was a falsehood, I purchased an OEM Motorcraft steering box, which would have only cost me $635.66, had they returned the core to me as agreed. Almost 50% of what TSS suggested it would cost. November 2024 Original estimate for replacing the steering box: $1200 Actual Cost Paid: $1768.13 ($682.47 labor, $860.66 for the steering box I supplied, $200.00 for the core they failed to return to me as agreed, but deposited themselves). Percent increase: 47.3% NOTE: A 3-month-old, handheld CB has not been seen since this service. Shame on me for not removing it before the service. In the 1970s, at the peak of garages taking advantage of consumers, the nightly news often warned viewers to be aware of the following: 1. Be aware of the upsell. After the drop-off, there is always an ensuing call from the mechanic or service manager, who highly recommends the additional replacement of other parts. As luck would have it, they can save you money if they do the extra work now instead of later. 2. Also, they use a select group of distributors, which will save even more money. We could get it from the dealer, but I have a guy I normally buy from who is cheaper, and you’ll want new, not remanufactured. 3. For some unforeseen reason, the quote is no longer a quote but a very low estimate, and now the repair price has increased. Oh, that price was just an estimate, but then we realized the cost of blinker fluid had increased, and your A/C needed reverse air demagnifying. It’s all very technical and takes time. Sadly, I feel like I experienced a version of all of these events during both interactions at Tuscaloosa Superduty Services (TSS)
