When I first started self-learning Chinese, I was struggling with too much unstructured content available on websites and mobile apps. After starting regular lessons with Luke, I was able to develop a structure that saw measurable improvements in my progress. I am so glad I found Luke to help me with my goal of learning Chinese. He listened to my specific needs/interests upfront and now tailors our lessons to my goals. He is very knowledgeable in both Chinese and English linguistics, but doesn’t overwhelm the lessons with things beyond what I have already or need to learn. I highly, highly recommend Luke for anyone learning Chinese, whether as a starter, traveler or native speaker just looking for a tune-up.

Luke is a great teacher and his lessons are fun. I had never spoken a word of Chinese when I started taking his tutor lessons. The way he explains grammar and the different tonations is very clear and makes learning chinese much easier and also a lot of fun. He had me learn different dialogues which I was able to use in basic conversations.
I highly recommend checking him out and maybe try one of his trial lessons to see if it is a good fit for you.

I have been getting lessons from Luke for about 6 months now and I highly recommend his classes no matter your current skill level. I have lived in China for several years while taking classes and I feel that I am progressing with Luke faster than with my previous teachers. His style works really well if you are an absolute beginner working on tones or a near fluent learner just trying to brush up. You can even do classes remotely which has been working out really well for me!
