University Tire absolutely saved our family roadtrip. We got a low tire pressure warning on I64, about 3 hours into our 8-hour drive, around noon on a Friday. We pulled over and found a nail in the sidewall of one of the tires. The closest tire place we could find was University Tire and Auto Center in Crozet, VA, so we limped over on the donut spare. Initially we were told that they wouldn't be able to get to us for several hours (if at all). Once they realized our situation they managed to fit us into the schedule and had us back on the road with a new tire in less than 2 hours. The total cost (~$260) was less than the $300 (or more) that we were expecting to pay, which was an added bonus. Cody and the rest of the team were very friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and fast. I would definitely recommend this location for service. DISCLAIMER: After they had finished replacing and mounting the tire, we were asked to post a review of our experience with University Tire and Auto Center. This request occurred after we had paid; whether we posted a review (positive or negative) or not had no influence on the quality of the work that was performed or the price we were charged. Normally I don't post online reviews but in this case I felt strongly enough that our positive experience should be shared. I'm grateful to University Tire for saving our family trip.

These guys accepted my walk-in on a snowy Wednesday and got straight to work on my tire. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. The cost of repairing my tire was reasonable and the owner personally authorized a discount on additional parts needed. I'm beyond pleased with this business and plan to be customer of theirs for the foreseeable future.

Mediocre service, very disappointing. I left my car at their shop for three hours for a simple oil change. After paying $87.63 for the service, and as I was pulling out of their parking lot, I noticed a strange noise from underneath my car. I immediately pulled over and realized that they didn’t put back the protective plate that covered the engine. It was hanging by one screw. They forgot to put the remaining 5 screws. As I returned my vehicle, they just said, “drive it back in, we will take a look“. After seeing the obvious problem, the mechanic in charge just said, “Umm, it’s missing some screws. Let me see what I can find in the back.” Apparently, they just wanted me to believe that for some reason, I have been driving my car across the state with only one screw holding my protective plate, and for some miracle it was just holding itself. At the end, they offered no apologies, only put two more screws, (3 total) and send me on my way. Suffice to say, I do not recommend this establishment.

Very efficient and exemplary customer service, from the time I spoke with Alfonso on the phone. Relatively new in town so I’m happy they are a stone’s throw away! Thanks for what you do for the community.

I took my truck to University Tire on Jarmans for a routine oil change. A week later I got a check engine light and Traction Control off error codes. I popped my hood and found a togo cup full of refuse oil under my filter rubbing against the belt. I took the truck back and had them do a diagnostic to access the damage. They told me that the error codes were unrelated to their mess up and that they would fix it for about $1000. Now it could be a coincidence but the timing of the situation, and the fact that they didnt offer me any form of compensation to retain me as a customer really rubbed me the wrong way. In addition to that I have had 2 other mechanics quote me half the price or less to fix whats wrong with my vehicle.

DO NOT GO HERE!!!! I had my car inspected here, and I forgot to tell them that one of my windshield wipers didn't work. They completed the inspection, passing my car, and even checked off windshield wipers! When I called back they said "Only one windshield wiper has to work to pass inspection." I double checked that, and that was a bald faced lie. When I called back and told him both have to work to pass inspection, he said "I misunderstood you, and didn't realize that it didn't work." Another bold faced lie! He also told me the diagnostic fee to look at my wiper would be $150.00!!! I will be reporting them to the BBB. I should have read all the horrible reviews beforehand, but will NOT be going back!!

DO NOT COME HERE IF YOUR CAR IS OLDER THEN 1990. I brought my 1987 ford here for an alignment after the person on the phone told me that it could be done. 2 hours later I get a call saying there machine does not cover that year and to try another shop. VERY FRUSTRSTING

Most of the time, I prefer to handle the maintenance tasks on my vehicles myself. However, for any jobs that I find challenging, I’m more than happy to bring them to University Tire in Crozet. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Cooper R., and I must say, I’m truly impressed by his exceptional service, meticulous attention to detail, and genuine care for his work. I feel confident in entrusting the safety of my family to his skilled hands. If I could, I would definitely give him 10 stars!

I needed a new tractor tire, having been convinced that a constantly deflating tire could not be reliably and durably patched or plugged. The tire was ordered from 30+ miles away, delivered, and installed within a few hours. All notifications, costs, and payments were professionally handled.

Ordered 4 tires on a Wednesday afternoon, they arrived Thursday AM and were mounted on Thursday afternoon. Very fast, courteous and capable service. Only gripe, and it’s a small one, is that the tires were filthy and hadn’t been hosed/wiped down.

These guys were fantastic!!! I was able to get all of my cars serviced for inspection on the same day when others said that I could only bring in one car and had to be there by 6 am. I absolutely understand the is, but it would have been a multi day process for me.

I dropped by to have a tire looked at that had been indicating a slow leak for several weeks. I was tired of pumping it back up. I scheduled an appointment that same afternoon. My issue was resolved quickly and University Tire and Auto didn't waste my time or try to up sell me anything. Problem solved and highly recommendd.

Just moved to the area, the repair shop is near my house. Brought it in for a Virginia state inspection. It was such a great experience, my car passed but they recommend some services that are due, the person who called really explained what maintenance services were needed and in Greta detail what that service does for the vehicle. I don’t feel pressured at all to buy anything, I genuinely felt that they cared about keeping my car running in top shape and for years to come. I would high recommend taking your vehicles here for any type of service. I have never felt so welcomed at any business.

So, There I was... on the side of the road with two flat tires and bent rims!! We contacted University Tire and Auto Centers in Crozet, VA. They were quick to come out and provide their thorough expertise to the task. Within about an hour of calling them, they Hauled off the old tires and rims, replaced and mounted the old tires, banged out the damaged rims and had them installed onto my vehicle. And, they were polite and professional during the whole experience! And, the price didn't send me into cardiac arrest! I cannot recommend them highly enough!! Thanks to all who participated in such seamless service! University Tire and Auto Centers in Crozet, VA is the example of how you serve customers!

I do not leave bad reviews, however I do think people need to have a questioning mind if they choose to use this location. After 2 bad experiences with them, I only take my car for State inspections here. Last week I took it in for an inspection and I was told my car was completely out of coolant and they recommended a coolant service. I declined and took my car to my usual mechanic this week who said the coolant was not completely out. This group will try to upsell you on everything, including things you don’t need. I won’t take my car back for even the State inspection in the future. They are extremely convenient location wise, but always get a second opinion. As a point of clarification, your technician called me and said it was completely out of coolant and offered the coolant service over the phone. The invoice was not provided at that time, only after I said no and picked up my car that night. While I appreciate your statement that the issue was due to my lack of ability to understand what is said to me, perhaps the issue is how your technicians choose to solicit hundreds of dollars of work over the phone.

Rob at the Crozet location was a huge help to me. He guided me to the best tires for my wife's CRV. The price was the best in town. She loves how smooth and quiet the tires are. Will be back there for future service needs. Thanks Rob!

These⭐☆☆☆☆ (1 Star) I had a terrible experience at this tire and auto shop and would strongly caution others before going here. I brought my car in for a routine state inspection. When they handed me the bill, it was over $120. I was shocked and asked for a breakdown. They told me the inspection was $20 — and then said they had added windshield wipers for over $50 EACH. That’s more than $100 just for wipers! I immediately told them not to install the wipers and that I would just pick up my car. When I arrived, I paid the $20 inspection fee and even left a $10 tip. No one said a single word about any issues with my car. Then I got into my car and noticed they had placed a FAILED sticker over the inspection sticker. At absolutely no point did anyone tell me the car failed inspection or that new wipers were required to pass. They accepted my payment — and my tip — without the basic courtesy or professionalism to explain that the vehicle didn’t pass. This felt incredibly dishonest and misleading. The lack of communication is unacceptable, and the attempt to charge outrageous prices for wipers without approval is shady at best. On top of that, the staff was rude and dismissive when I asked questions. I will not be returning, and I recommend others think twice before trusting this place with their vehicle.
