Brought my car in for an inspection and was told there was an issue with the suspension and that I had 3 months left on the car. This seemed fishy since it's relatively new, so I took it to my trusted mechanic in my hometown. He examined the suspension, and said there is no issue. Not sure what happened here, and I don't like pointing fingers, but it feels like they were trying to pull one over on me. Two stars because otherwise, it was a good experience.

Urban Classics has a new customer for life! I brought my car in to get checked out because I was hearing a chirping sound from inside the vehicle, assuming it was probably the serpentine belt needing replaced. I got a call the next day letting me know that the mechanics did a thorough check of my car and everything was in immaculate shape! Great news to hear being that I bought this car used about a month ago and no charge since there was no necessary repairs needing to be done on my car. I genuinely appreciated the honesty and swift communication from the Urban Classics team, and feel a huge weight lifted off my shoulders knowing that there is a place I can trust to bring my car in Brooklyn and not be exploited into unnecessary repairs. I highly recommend Urban Classics -- they are responsible and ethical and do great work, even for an "unknown" customer like me who isn't a local. When my alternator died on the Kosciuszko bridge on a Sunday night AAA towed my car to Urban Classics, the closest available garage. They called me first thing Monday with questions, ran diagnostics and quoted me a repair for a reasonable rate (I checked with my regular garage to be sure!). When there turned out to be a problem with one of the parts some months after the repair, they addressed the issue under the warranty with a great attitude and no pushback. If I lived closer they'd definitely be my go-to spot.

David is quite simply the best. I've known him for decades and I can't say enough good. David's figured out some seriously messy and weird problems with two cars I've had, and both vehicles were pretty old and unusual. A few weeks ago he worked a bit of magic on a 26 year old Miata, and not the first time. Plus he's a lot of fun to talk to, about cars of course but also everything. Big thanks to David. Urban Classics provides a high level of professionalism and work into what they do and they certainly charge for it. I really appreciated the level of communication, the clear explanations provided to me and the transparency when discussing what needed to be repaired with my vehicle. While I got some repair work done by them, I wasn’t willing to do everything because of their very high prices. I needed my rear brakes replaced and was able to find a different repair shop that was able to perform the same work for half the price of what Urban Classics was quoting. I totally understand they have a big team of professionals to pay and their work is certainly of high quality. My recommendation is to do research into other mechanics first if you know what the problem is before coming here as nice as they may be.

They do shoddy work and will also hold on to your car in order to use it as their own personal vehicle for weeks without telling you. In fact, they'll tell you that they have not had a chance to work on the vehicle in the time it has been with them, but will continue to drive around town, pick up lunch and their friends that are not Urban Classics employees and generally hang out in your car. I only know because I accidentally walked past them doing so in my own car one day. Oh, they'll also bring it back damaged. The gist is I found two strangers hanging out and eating in my car as the shop was on the phone with me telling me that the car was in the garage. Stay far away from this place, they're super shady and deeply inconsiderate. If you have a quote from them, get a second opinion and if you don't see your car out front when you pass by, chances are someone's picking up a date and putting wear and tear on your car at your expense. They told me to come back in 5 days while it was a big whole in my tire! How can you release a customer without checking his tire if it has a whole??? On middle of the way home my tire got totaled!!! They are stupid people! Don't go there they are not responsible people!!!

Brought my car in for an inspection and they ended up letting me know I had a rodent issue in my engine bay, which I would have never, ever known. They were really patient and helpful, explained different options, showed me where I can continue treatment on my own, etc. They were all super friendly, even when I accidentally read the invoice wrong and thought I was charged for something I was not (SORRY, AGAIN). Overall I had a good experience, so I'm happy to know I have somewhere to go in the neighborhood if I have an issue again (hopefully unrelated to rodents).

A complete waste of time. They lied to me. I needed work done by a specific time. I clearly communicated that to them, they promised to have the work done in time, and they had days to complete it. Instead, they waited until the last possible minute to even run my cars codes ensuring they missed the deadline. No apology from them, but they still wanted 300 dollars to diagnose my car. Ridiculous and unprofessional. Avoid this place. It is a house of lies.

I brought my 2017 Audi A6 to Urban Classics Auto Repair after getting a pretty shocking diagnosis from the Audi dealership. The dealership told me my engine mounts were blown and quoted me just over $4,000 to fix them. A friend recommended Urban Classics, so I decided to get a second opinion. Not only did Urban Classics quote me about half of what Audi wanted, they also discovered that my cooling fan was broken — something the dealership never mentioned. They fixed both issues, and even with the additional repair, my total cost was still less than Audi’s quote for the engine mounts alone. I also want to mention Max, the senior mechanic who helped me throughout the process. He was straightforward, patient, and really took the time to explain what was wrong and how they were fixing it. His professionalism made the entire experience much easier. I just picked up my A6, and I genuinely forgot how good this car is supposed to feel. The vibration is completely gone, the acceleration is smooth again, and the whole drive feels brand new. It honestly hasn’t driven this well in years. Fair pricing, honest diagnostics, and high-quality work — I’m incredibly glad I went with them. For any future services, I’m 100% coming back. Highly recommend.

Max and David are incredibly honest and good people. I own a 2018 Volkswagon that was having issues with a brake booster. They took it and quoted me fairly for the replacement and a few necessary tune ups. When they returned the car to me it was still making a weird noise that was concerning to David. He said to bring it back when I can and he would diagnosis it again for free. When he called me back he was looking out for my safety and for the booster to never fail again. He redid my brake booster installation free of charge and labor.I was truly shocked and grateful for such kind and honest service from the entire staff. turn around time is quick too! Definitely go here if you have a European car. They're the best of the best.
