It's just nice to have a chill spot to get gear instead of Guitar Center. The owner is easy to talk to and they have some nice stuff. All I bought was a pack of picks and inquired about replacement part for my telecaster, but it was pleasant. Every time I had gone to guitar center, it was awful and have gone two years not buying from Guitar Center cuz this is a superior customer experience.

The owner of this nice, fun venue needs to take a hard look at what is served as food. 3 oz of vegetable curry for $8., 3 oz of spinach dip with two crackers & 3 small pieces of plain bread for $9., margarita flatbread that was 4" x 6"for $16. meatball sandwich on 4 inches of bread & 3 meatballs the size of large marbles is ridiculous. Highly recommend not eating there. But do enjoy the variety of good entertainment.

Very nice, well stocked new music shop with a good selection of guitars, acoustic & electric, plus accessories. People were friendly and welcoming. I'm not confident that the cafe makes sense, and cannot imagine why I would ask the music instrument sales guy to brew me an espresso. Maybe in the future it will be more music and less cafe (instead of 50/50)? Overall a very good experience. I wish them great success!

Live music is usually very good, and food is tasty. My only complaints are that the music is always played too loud for such a small, intimate setting, and the food and wine prices are very high for what you get. However, we have gone 5 weeks in a row because we do have a really nice time there!

I had a very similar creepy experience as pretty much everyone else who posted a negative comment here. I am a musician and photographer in Wellington. I had only visited the store twice before. Once, over a year ago, but they weren’t open in the middle of a weekday for some reason and once because a friend/neighbor asked me to meet him there to listen to music. That neighbor knows of a project I am working on and suggested that I should go in to Village Music and talk to the owner Steve. So today, at around 12:30pm, I had a few minutes and happened to be near the store so I walked in and some guy behind the desk who was sitting down at his computer and seemed quite annoyed by my very presence, said - and I quote, “What do you want?” Obviously, the question and the rude manner of which it was asked threw me off for a moment. I was so blown away by the way in which he spoke to me that I thought perhaps I heard him wrong … so, I started over … thinking I could change the tone with my kindness and charm. So I said, “Hi … I’m David. My neighbor (and I mentioned his name) suggested I should come by and introduce myself. Are you Steve?” And the guy gets up from his chair, jostling with his pants or belt and barks at me - “YEAH - I’M AM. WHAT DO YOU WANT?” Well … no one speaks to me that way and so I said “I don’t want anything” and turned around and began to walk out, saying nothing more directly back to him. And as I was walking out, he shouted at me again … “I SAID WHAT DO YOU WANT.” And I just laughed and left. I’m 59 years old and can honestly say that I have never been greeted so rudely by anyone in a retail store as I was by this person. Needless to say, I would never be caught dead in that store again. There is something seriously wrong with that guy.

I moved to Wellington in 2012 and stumbled upon this place while looking for a different store. I would rather go here to buy stuff than the big box because I would like to buy local and second it’s closer. When I went in I met Steve the co-owner. I needed to pick up a midi controller and to my surprise Steve offered to price match the big box. I do not mind paying a couple of bucks more for a independent but that was awesome. I have since been back for other items. They recently moved into a bigger space and added a Cafe with a stage for live music. I met Donna (the other onwner) at a chamber event. She convinced me to bring my wife to see a band that was playing tonight. I am glad I went. The band was great and the service was awesome. They do have food but we had already eaten however what I saw looked good. This is a great place and we will be back.

Awesome atmosphere, passionate people. Donna and Steve makes this place a loving caring musicians cove, and a school to get anyone started in musical instruments and vocal lessons. I also do take stage here as an amateur musician time to time...

I stopped by on a Saturday to purchase guitar strings and discuss a potential repair after calling several times and no answer. The store was empty when I walked in. I was eventually greeted by someone that appeared to work for a restaurant that shares the building (?), who advised that the store was closed because the owner left, and that I could wait for an unspecified amount of time for him to come back. I waited in my car for about 15 minutes for the owner, seemingly the only employee, to return. During that time I saw 3 other groups of people walk in and out of the store after presumably being told the same thing. I cannot comment on quality of goods or services offered here as I did not have the opportunity to find out. I found it odd, hope the owner is okay, and decided to take the hike to guitar center instead.

Amazing little place in Wellington where the music flows every weekend with amazing musicians and an awesome staff. Tonight was no exception, and we stayed for hours. Beer and wine or just a cup of tea or coffee with your music. Fun Saturday night out!

This is a small bar built inside a music shop. It is focused on hosting live music. It serves comfort food and snacks. The shop owners are always around, and it feels like a neighborhood bar. It is located in a strip mall and the parking is free.

My children have been doing music lessons here and we absolutely love it! The owner is awesome! Always helps us when we need it and runs such a good operation. We have been seeing Nick for my 9 year old, Ryan for my 13 year old and Morgan for my 6 year old all fabulous teachers who really work with my kids and keep me up to date on what is going on. If you need a music instrument or piano lessons I highly recommend.

This repair shop is very dishonest and tries to overcharge customers. They quoted a price, took the money, and when I came back to pick up my instrument, they asked for more money, giving all kinds of excuses. I still paid the extra amount and didn’t say anything, but I don’t recommend coming here.

Finally made it by before closing. Village music exceeded my expectations using their space to make an excellent boutique music store, learning space, quality restaurant and music venue. The owner was friendly, helpful and informative. I will check with them before making my next musoc purchase.

I run a local guitar business myself and have had many good experiences here. Always there when I need strings or parts in a hurry. You have to remember that these business have to compete with Amazon and many high volume online stores with pricing power. Let's supprt and embrace these local music stores as they are the backbone of our town. Have you seen stores all around Wellington dissappear? Let's not let that happen to Village Music, shop local, visit the store(its actually very well designed and a cool shop) attend their live music nights, take lessons and shop there.

They charge you in advance for lessons and if you don’t have lessons per already accepted schedule cos the tutor quits, you’re out of luck. You either make up lessons at their convenience or lose the money paid. They don’t care if you get your lesson or not. Not a nice way to do business for sure.
