This place is a joke when it comes to customer service. Last June I brought my wife's VW Eos in because of a corrosion warranty claim on the front fenders. This was a warranty issue due to poor engineering on the wheel wells that hold water and cause rusting from the inside out. I know this because it is my second VW that had a corrosion warranty claim. After 12 months of calling the dealership and VW corporate customer support I am still waiting on having my car repaired. They keep telling me to be patient. At first the delay was because the body shop was backed up, then it was the dealership was closed due to COVID19, etc., etc., etc. I am still waiting 12 months later and now they won't return my calls. This is my 5th and last VW. This place has been run into the ground since Dave Walter sold it and their customer service is atrocious! Many times when you call they don't answer the phone and it goes into voicemail and they NEVER return calls! Do yourself a favor and go to Brunswick Volkswagen. I would but I can't since there is already a claim in the system and I'm being held hostage. What a stupid process to handle warranty issues.

I called VW of Akron on a Friday afternoon to ask about a used Honda Civic they had on their lot. It was the exact car that we were looking for for our daughter. I spoke with a loveley young salesperson named Trent. He said that they did still have it and we were welcome to come look at it that evening or on Saturday. I let Trent know that we would love to come take a look Saturday but we were on a strict time schedule. We arrived at opening on Saturday and Trent already had the car pulled up and ready for us, which I very much appreciated. It was in wonderful condition and he was very patient as we looked it over. I took it for a test drive and then he also allowed my daughter's father to test drive it too since it was to be a joint purchase. The car was priced amazingly. There really wasn't anything to haggle about. I had been looking for this exact car for months online prior to coming in and it was priced well below many of the other dealerships and even private party sales in the area. It had brand new front and rear brakes and the fluids had been flushed as well. The CarFax was amazing with no accidents. I told Trent that we were 100% ready to write a check but we needed to be out of the dealship by 10:45 to be somewhere by 11. It was just before 10am and he called over Betty in finance to see if she had a wait. She did not so we started the process. Betty was a doll and SO quick and efficient with everything and Trent had the car cleaned and gassed up and back to us by 10:40! It was the fastest I have EVER been able to buy a car in my life. I was so impressed. We discovered when we got home that the left brake light was out and Trent and Brittany from service said no problem, come on in Monday and they would take care of it for us. SEAMLESS experience from start to finish and we absolutely LOVE the car. My daughter is so excited and I'm happy to drive it for the next few months until she gets her license! We love our new family member and look forward to getting many many years of safe driving with it.

I had the best experience with the service department today. We have been to this location in the past to purchase a car and address a recall; both with positive experiences. Today I needed help replacing my license plate as the screws were stripped and rusted. The service department receptionist and technician were so friendly and willing to help me despite not having an appointment. Both employees were so willing to help, I couldn’t have had a more positive interaction. Looking forward to being back sometime in the near future for a new car, thank you VW of Akron

Came in to look at an ID 4 as their website listed a great deal on a few models they had on the lot. I worked with Justin who was a nice sales rep and answered my questions. When it came time to negotiate the lease price, they quoted a price nearly $10k higher than their own website listed. When I showed them this, they blamed the site and would not budge. Terrible bait and switch tactics. I would not recommend wasting your time here.

Worked with Jared who was very knowledgeable and helped answer all of our questions. Did not feel pressured through any point of the sale and the finance manager explained everything clearly and helped answer question and customize additional service plans. When shopping their website it’s best to budget based on MSRP since not all discounts are guaranteed, however the team helped identify rebates. Overall a very positive experience buying our 2025 Atlas and plan to shop there again in the future.

Ordered a headlight for my 2017 Alltrack, waited a few months, unfortunate circumstance, but with supply chains the way they are, understandable. When I received my $950 headlight, it had silicone oozing out where the lens meets the housing, along with silicone smeared all over the lens, the chrome pieces inside have scratches on them. It almost looks like it is used. When I picked up this unit, I checked the tabs to make sure they weren't broken and that the lens wasn't cracked, it did not dawn on me I needed to do a quality control check of their workmanship. It wasn't until I got the unit in my garage under shop lights when I noticed the defects. Upon review of their return policy, a 50% restocking fee is part of their policy. I'm EXTREMELY disappointed, please be weary and check over your parts for lazy workmanship from the factory, times are strange and things are being pushed through without meeting prior expectations of quality. It's hard to capture in a picture, but I've included the defects the best I can.

Who has a great experience buying a used car they found online ? I did ! I was looking for a used Honda Pilot and found a gorgeous one on a car website. It was at VW of Akron; a two hour drive away. I called the dealer and was lucky enough to get Trent on the phone.I explained my budget and that I would have to drive 2 hours to see the car and then come back on the weekend to pick it up if I wanted it. Our car had been totaled so I was driving an Enterprise replacement car. I was also paying with funds from the insurance settlement and would need to make out a check from my bank but not until I saw the car and agreed on terms. Trent offered that, if I liked the car after driving it, he would help me drop off the car at Enterprise and that he would wait for me to get to the bank to get him the check. He explained that even though I rented the car in an adjacent state, Enterprise would let me return the car (but that I should double check which I did). Long story short, I love the car, it's like brand new as advertised, and because of Trent I drove it home only hours after I arrived. No need to go back home, get my husband to drive back with me to pick it up on the weekend( he had been injured in the car accident that required this replacement). No juggling with the bank as Trent knew it had a branch close by. It was so easy because Trent knows his field and cared enough to well, go the extra mile so we didn't have to! Trent has integrity, and thinks out of the box to find solutions. Thanks to Trent and the team at VW of Akron!!!

Within a week of receiving the car, it started leaking oil profusely and running rough, just after I had all the fluids flushed. I can't prove that they, or the prior owner, put stop leak additives in the oil, but it I were a betting man..... So, I've spent nearly the purchase price on maintenence in less than 6 months and it still isn't right. I also had an issue where sales said they would register the vehicle (even charged me for it) then never did. While I did get a refund for it, it was unexpectedly driving unregistered. No bueno.. I would just be careful getting a used car from here.

Absolutely disgusting behavior from the sales team. It should not be part of your job to harass people who never even personally inquired to begin with. Its been almost a month of texts nearly every day constantly asking about if im interested in a vehicle. Not to mention they even acknowledge that they know they're pestering me. This is extremely unprofessional and disgusting. Any reasonable and educated sales person knows to stop attempting communications after you get ZERO replies. If i get one more text im filing a suit for harassment.

Ken Ganley VW would surely be a better option if you are considering purchasing a vehicle with high voltage systems which may need diagnosis or maintenance. Do not buy an electric vehicle at this dealership. 1. They do not service EV High voltage battery systems. 2. Inexplicably, they only refer for EV battery repairs 60 miles away rather than the several dealerships 30 miles closer to them and their customers. [I had trouble finding this and regret taking their bad advice.] 3. They didn't allow me to park the car on their lot (I bought new from them) after a recall from the manufacturer stated that my only parking option at home was unsafe and not recommended. 4. They also didn't provide the charger listed on the window sticker when I ordered my vehicle and paid full price. (I.E. bait and switch) 5. Other issues which otherwise wouldn't be deal breakers. Ken Ganley VW would surely be a better option if you are considering purchasing a VW with high voltage systems which may need diagnosis or maintenance.

Our experience with Emily K following our last vehicle service appointment has been very disappointing. We were told that we had done something that we did not do, and the situation was handled in a way that felt unfair and unprofessional. Good customer service is about communication, accountability, and respect — and unfortunately, we did not receive that. Because of this experience, I would not recommend this location to others.

I had an incredible experience with Brittany (Service Advisor) while traveling from Michigan to Virginia. I found myself on the road when my coolant light suddenly came on, which was alarming, especially since I had just had a radiator flush done two days prior at another VW dealership.
