I have a one star because I couldnt put negative stars. I came in for a nail in the tire. 2 hours later, still not ready. There was no one ahead of me, so they couldnt use the "were busy" line. Horrible service, definitely not coming back. I guess I really shouldn't be surprised its Walmart.

Very slow service. An oil change taking 2 hours when there was 1 car ahead of us also getting an oil change? No thanks. I’ve been staring at my truck for the past 45 minutes with no one working on it. Go somewhere else.

Don't waste your day. Always have had good experience with walmart tires but service moves a crawl at this location. My vehicle was the only one in the tire bay and waited over 2 hours for 4 tires to be installed.

The thing with Walmart is, it’s hit or miss. I tried this location because the other one had a 3 hour wait. This one was maybe 40 minutes. They had more people on staff; whereas the other location did not. I came for an oil change, which is the only thing I would trust Walmart with. Don’t come to do your tires. That’s where people end up with problems. My suggestion is to always call and ask how many technicians are on staff at the time and ask for the wait time, before you head over. Just makes it easier on yourself.

Arrived at 5:30p center open until 7. Told on the phone 90 min wait and our tire size in stock. Arrive and tech says 3 hrs. 40 mins later they don't have the tires. Ask if a different tire could be done. Told not enough time. Sent us away with bad tires to continue our drive home. :-(

This Walmart’s auto center is suboptimal! I asked what the wait was on an oil change and the employee working the desk replied “well…(long pause) I don’t know how long you’ll have to wait. Might be 1 hour or 2 hours or 10 mins but you’ll definitely have to wait”. I asked if he knew how many cars were in front of me. This dude looks outside and goes “No, that’s about all I can tell you you’re just gonna have to wait”. I’ve also frequently been turned away if it’s within 3 hours of closing time (turned away at 3:30 when they close at 6) All I’m saying is that the Mt Airy Walmart auto center is 100x better. Even the mega Walmart auto center off 26 is better. Never going back here.

Got my oil changed September 2nd. Their hours are 12 to 6 on a first come, first serve basis. Got there at 2pm and had to wait patiently until 4pm. Not complaining. They did well and gave time for us to shop. If you plan on getting an oil change. Definitely come as early to 12 as possible.

Just avoid Walmart auto center all together. For all the hassle you will have to deal with is not worth the little bit of money you save by using them. I purchased tires online on a Sunday, scheduled for instal for the following Saturday at the end of the week. They called and canceled my appointment saying their machine was broken. I tried to reschedule and they said that I couldn’t because they don’t know when the machine will be fixed. In the next couple days I went into the store and asked about this. They said they have one machine working, I asked if I could reschedule they said I couldn’t schedule for Saturday instal until Friday????? That makes zero sense, so I tried again Friday I called in. They said their machine DOES NOT EVEN WORK FOR MY SIZE TIRES. I had confirmed with them multiple times if it was the correct size machine and they had said yes it was. Now I’ve wasted 3 weeks riding around on my spare tire. Even picking up the tires I had purchased to take them elsewhere for instal was a huge hassle, it took them 30 mins just to allow me to take the tires. Employees all complaining, one came in and started cursing then told me that being a mechanic makes you an angry person…. I am a 135 pound female and I loaded all 4 tires by myself with no help. Absolutely ridiculous how they treat customers.

Took my car to replace tires.as soon as they replace them I noticed huge vibration. Called them and I was told new tires needs brake in. By time it gets worse. Took the car back to service center and found out they installed wrong tires basically for off roading ones. The manager Taylor wasted my time,speaks very rude and disrespectful and although that I bought road hazards and tires still have warranty on it,he didn't try to fix the problem. Not recommend this service place.

I ordered some tires online for my car to be installed at the Germantown Walmart, but when I showed up at 2:00 for my appointment, the appointment was somehow lost. They were unable to get me until the next week. Knowing that there was an impending snow storm, my girlfriend suggested that I call the Frederick Walmart and ask if there was any availability. They said that while it may take longer, they should be able to help me as long as I brought the tires from Germantown to Frederick since they were already paid for. I brought the tires over and with the help of Ashley, Jean, Robert, and O'Neill, I had my tires installed and ready to go in 1.5 hours. I cannot thank them enough for their willingness to help me in a tough situation that the Germantown location put me in. I am incredibly grateful for the team at the Frederick shop.

I highly recommend the Auto Care center at this Walmart (Frederick-Guilford Dr.) I have been driving from Germantown., MD ( There is also a Walmart Auto Care there) to come here. Germantown is very chaotic and overly busy. Even if you have an appointment you still have to wait hours to be seen! I had the pleasure of working with Robert and O’Neil today replacing a tire that I received a flat on. They both are extremely patient and very helpful. There were understaffed today but was still able to accommodate me as a walk in. They are very compassionate to my situation because I was driving on a donut. Knowing I was coming out of Germantown they didn’t want me, a female having to drive back out here on a donut AND on 270. I so very much appreciated that. These gentlemen need a raise!!! If you see this Robert or O’Neil, THANK YOU! I appreciate you both! You have a life long customer in me at this location.

I was really stressed today because I’m making a big trip out of state and my tired really needed to get changed and asap because I had little time in my hands. Even though they were super busy and had appts they did everything they could to help me out and get those tires on my car. Their customer service was amazing! Big thanks to the manager Willie for making it happen as well to Singh and another young fellow that was with him when I first arrived! He told me his name but I forgot I’m sorry! Thank you once again best service I’ve received ever especially at Walmart !!!!

I will not give them even 1 star. Very lazy staff. I came in with used oil just now, they have 3 people on duty, non can collect the oil, they want me to come back tomorrow? Just to drop the used oil. I will talk to the manager, This store is not seeing me buy engine oil or and auto product from them for the next 5 oil change. IF YOU CANT COLLECT USED OIL, I WILL NOT BUY OIL FROM YOUR WALMART AGAIN. Laziness has no excuse in business.

1/22/2026 - HORRIBLE SERVICE. I will NEVER use again. Robert who had serviced our tire needs before had always been kind, caring and helpful. A little gruff but helpful nonetheless. Today? Rude, abrupt and 100% unhelpful. The manager (ZZ Top lookalike - Matt who is the manager) was just as useless, unkind and made some references to other things that should have been recommended. When I told him this very Wal-Mart tire center was the last place to help me his expression was blank. If it was just me I might be able to overlook my experience, but they treated at least three other people in a similar manner. There is no reason to treat anyone like they did each time. It’s too bad since this place used to be good. I’ll go elsewhere from now on. Cancelled the appointment for my other cars appointment for tomorrow too.

Came here for an oil change. Literally just the oil change was done. Other services (transmission fluid check, battery check, etc) that are listed on the Walmart website as included with the oil change were not done. When I pointed it out to the manager Gersham, he said I could come back and get the services done in 2 days and a tire rotation with my scheduled appointment. When I arrived two days later at my scheduled time, the mechanic told me I could not get the tire rotation and they don’t do all the other services such as battery checking, checking of transmission fluid, etc because my car has a closed system. When I tried to talk to a manager, no one was even at the desk to discuss the matter. I left and of course no one answered any phone calls when I tried to discuss the issue again.
