A Better Auto Repair was recommended to us by a trusted friend who owns a reputable used car lot in Boise. After taking our cars in several times, we totally trust this shop and they have saved us a lot of money over the years. Once we had a high-priced quote for an alternator replacement from Christian Brothers in Meridian. A Better Auto did it for about half the Christian Bro. quote. And when there was a warranty problem with the alternator part, A Better Auto replaced it for free with no questions asked. They are honest and fair and stand behind their work.

Beyond Excellent Service. It’s obvious Dave is passionate in his job as a mechanic as the multiple times I’ve taken different vehicles to him he has known them like the back of his right hand. In this instance today I was quoted from a different mechanic and it included the replacement of all engine mounts. He found that there was only an issue with the rear mount and with his honesty worked only on the area that needed it. It cost a fraction of what the original mechanic quoted, so it’s obvious he’s among the truest of the mechanics in the area and perhaps even the best in the area. It’s not just Google that gives his shop a “5.0”, but word of mouth is working in his favor. I give my highest recommendation to Dave and his team that produces an honest and excellent product.

I called A Better Auto repair for a quote on a repair for my son’s car after receiving a quote from another company. Not only did the owner spend the necessary time on the phone with me calculating the quote to the best of his ability, ($300 less than the first mechanic without any knowledge of the original quote), but he repaired the car sooner than expected, and still under the estimate. Went to Dave after a friend recommended him to me for a loud clunk in my tires. Les Schwab said I’d have to get rotors/control arms/subframe replaced. He said it was loose bolt…he did recommend I replace my struts as they were pretty worn. Got both replaced for roughly $900. Not bad considering. Needed to get my a/c compressor replaced. He lets you buy your parts if you’d like which in my case I already hard the part luckily. Installed it for roughly $400! Not bad at all. Going back to see if he can help with my catalytic converters. He’s an honest guy and I appreciate how he explains everything to me that makes sense and shows me pictures (I am a visual person). He always gives options that are most convenient and is financially understanding. Best mechanic in the area!!
