I have lived in Simi Valley for 42 years. I’ve had five mechanics for me. A&D Automotive is my sixth. I’ve taken three cars to them and they’ve done a wonderful job on all three. Dave is an incredible honest man and I’m sure if he is an honest man. His staff is right behind him. No issues I’d say take your car though. You’ll be satisfied with what you get from him nothing but the best I’d give him 10 stars if they had it.

I brought my car to this shop for a coolant leak and spent around $1,260. Unfortunately, the coolant leak was never properly fixed. The car was already leaking coolant the same day I picked it up. I pointed out the coolant on the ground under the driver’s side, but I was told it was old coolant and not an active leak. It later became clear that the issue had never been resolved and continued afterward. In addition, after this visit, my windshield wipers stopped working. Another mechanic later found that a bolt on the wiper linkage had been left loose and not tightened. Once the bolt was tightened, the wipers worked normally again. The owners are polite and they do follow up with customers, but the workmanship and attention to detail from the mechanic were not satisfactory. Overall, this experience raised serious concerns about quality control. Based on my experience, I would be cautious about using this shop for major or detail-sensitive repairs.

This is the kind of local business that you can feel good about supporting. The owner, Dave, is always available to discuss your vehicle's issues. His dogs will greet you and happily accept scratches. It feels personal and honest. I was a little shocked at the price of replacing a clutch, but when I was having problems 15 months later, Dave stood by his 2 year warranty and took care of everything at no additional cost.
