I love these guys. They are honest and down to earth, generally pretty available, and what they fix stays fixed. Great for inspections too. They don't sell you more than you need but advise you what they would do with their own car.

My regular vehicle inspection place was closed until 9am on Thursdays. I couldn't wait so I drove over to A&J Automotive. It was 8:05am and the owner was ready to roll as soon as I told him why I was there. The waiting area is tiny, but that's because this is an old school auto garage, not a lounge that fixes cars. Soft music was playing. Nothing offensive. Magazines & newspapers were available to read while I waited. When finished the owner was polite and very courteous. The only complaint is they charge a $1 surcharge for paying via credit cards. That may only apply to totals under a certain amount. I am sympathetic to owners who are paying 3% with swipe fees and monthly fees, especially in the current pandemic. That's how your credit card company gives you those rewards...by taking more money from each merchant. Final thoughts? I absolutely recommend this place for car inspections. Anything else? I can't say because I only had the inspection performed. Feb 2022 Update: I just got back from getting another inspection sticker from here. It looks like it's under new ownership. It used to be Brother's Auto Service and now it's A&J Automotive. Again, my regular place couldn't do my inspection due to a broken computer. The owner at A&J took me right in at 8:15am. He was extremely courteous and welcoming. I would gladly recommend this place for Mass. Auto Inspections and I'd be willing to bet this new owner is going to do a good job working on your car.

I went in for an inspection sticker after my sister told me that she had a great experience here. The new owner was extremely friendly and super fast. i was in and out in 15 minutes. I plan on getting all of my inspections done here from now on. I highly recommend.

*EDIT* The guy said my e-brake didn’t work yet I checked it and it worked just fine. Also said the part of my rear quarter panel was an issue because there was tape on it? Even though it was solid metal clearly, just trying to protect it from rusting since it’s unpainted. Also said something about belts which isn’t even an inspection issue. Don’t waste your time or money here, they will fail your inspection and tell you there’s things wrong with it that aren’t actually in need of repair or tell you things failed on it for inspection that isn’t even an inspection issue they need to check. Not a trustworthy business.

Fantastic and speedy service! I went in for an inspection and was out within 10-15 minutes. My car had a light bulb out, and the mechanic quickly changed it and gave me the old light bulb, so service was also very transparent! Definitely recommended and will be taking my vehicle there, going forward!

My uncle and I drove from Connecticut to view a Honda CR-V after a "Jessica" scheduled a specific time for us to come in. We arrived at the shop around 2:30 PM on 12/07, only to find that she was not on-site. She told us the vehicle was on the side of the building, so we looked it over and texted her to ask about a test drive. In the middle of communicating, she removed the listing from Facebook Marketplace, which came across as confusing and suspicious. After some time, she finally responded and said she would arrive within 20 minutes so we could test drive the vehicle. The whole situation felt disorganized and unprofessional. If you know someone is traveling and coming at a set time, it makes sense to be present—especially when there’s a real chance of a sale. The sudden removal of the listing only raised more concerns. Overall, the experience was chaotic, suspicious, and not reflective of good business practice. I hope future customers receive better communication and professionalism.
