I brought my vehicle to this place and I had one leak in the front, I put transmission fluid before I got there to make sure that it had enough transmission to get me from Webster to Houston, understanding that the leak was a small leak in the front only. After I paid $999.95 dollars for them to see what was wrong with the vehicle, they offered me to get some type of financing to pay this big ole bill that I could not afford, so I asked them to put my parts back together the way it was before I came there. I parked my vehicle in the garage after I got it from the place and all of my transmission fluid was leaking all over the garage everywhere in the middle and my vehicle was not leaking transmission fluid in the middle nor was it leaking this bad. There is no transmission fluid in my vehicle after this major leak, they caused, and I called the place and spoke to a manger 1st and they put lying Rich on the phone, who was the person who handled my vehicle and all he did was lie, he tried to use the fact that I said I put transmission fluid in my vehicle to get there as if to say that was the issue that occurred after I got my 2008 Jeep Wrangler Sahara back and that I told him, that another mechanic was saying that it was rusted under the bottom, when I told him that, it had nothing to do with the transmission, he is a complete liar, who obviously likes to twist people’s words around instead of telling the truth, I have a video and two pictures of what my vehicle look like before I even brought it to them and I have pictures and video of what it look like after I brought it to them. Rich is a complete liar and to have a company with a person like this that lies, shows a lot about the company itself. What this company does is say they’re going to do a free diagnostic then you pay $700 to $999.95 depending on what they feel is going on based off of diagnostic, and when you can’t afford it they offer you to make payments but if your vehicle cost a whole bunch of money they do not tell you that that it could cost thousands of dollars to get your vehicle fixed and I guess I’m assuming that they thought that I was going to go with that plan and I didn’t and then when they put my vehicle back together they didn’t put it back together right now I have a vehicle with a bad transmission leak, that wasn't like that when I brought it to them.

They got me in same day and made sure to tell me what it would cost before doing any of the work. I appreciated this as my car is not as common. There was traffic when coming back to pick my car up but Rich stayed open a few minutes late to make sure I could pick it up. I will be back!

I don’t usually leave reviews, but this feels worthy of recognition. I based my choice of vendor off the reviews, and can say that was a huge mistake. I bring them my rare single cab tundra with a working transmission (albeit shifting poorly) and they quoted me 6300.00 to rebuild it. 2 weeks go by and I finally get it back only to have it shifting even worse, and occasionally not EVEN going into gear, and they broke the part that controls the manual shift mode. I bring it back to fix it only for them to fix the neutral switch, and tell me everything is fine. I take it back only for the issues to increase in severity. One time trying to leave my house it won’t go into gear, and I push the gas for it to jump so hard into gear it that it made a huge loud metal sound. To say I’m disappointed would be a huge understatement. I feel like they did nothing to fix my truck, and took 6300.00 bucks from me. Then to top it off they damaged the special cowl hood at the last attempt to repair. Seriously do not take your car/truck here. How many times do you have to bring a vehicle back to get it right. When you pay that kind of money you expect perfection.

I wish I could give Rich and his team at A+ Transmission 10 stars! We happened upon this shop by chance as I was having some problems with my 2019 Ford Explorer that I suspected was the transmission. Rich explained the assessment and repair process very clearly from the beginning. I left my car with him on 10/30/25. He stayed in constant communication with me regarding the assessment process and breakdown of the transmission. He also stayed on the phone for long periods of time, several times with my extended warranty company to keep their process moving efficiently. Should my warranty not have covered the repairs, he explained several payment options that were available. If you're looking for outstanding customer service and fast, efficient, excellent work go see my car care hero, Rich. Alex is awesome too! I picked my car up after only paying a small warranty deductible on 11/06/25 and she's running like a champ!

A Plus literally lives up to their name! I was traveling back from San Marcos and noticed that my car would "sputter" accelerating up him and occasionally when I picked up speed. I immediately new it was transmission related. I made an appointment that Saturday night for Monday after extensive research on transmission specialist in my area. I came in Monday morning and left my car. Rich was thorough with his explanation noting that it was indeeed something wronh with the transmission but would not know the extent until they took the transmission apart. The next day (Tuesday) Rich called my husband and myself to let us know the extent of the parts that needed to be replaced. We approved the work and the cost, going with OEM parts with a 3-year warranty. My car was ready for pickup on Thursday evening. At pick up Alec explained the warranty and also let us know what other underlying issues we needed a mechanic to look at! Overall - I am thoroughly impressed and satisfied with the customer service offered and the repair work at A Plus - Hobby. (Also for reference, my car is a 2016 Nissan Maxima and had 155,000 miles on it when the transmission began to fail)

The comment that it is $89.95 is not at all what was represented when I got to the counter the guy at the counter quoted $189 which is why I turned around and left. I wasted a 30 min drive to go over here and wasted an hour of my day. Go back and roll your footage, nothing was explained at all. The person working could have cared less losing a customer and he quoted 189! I’ll come back over and you and I can sit down and roll the footage back but I’m pretty sure this wasn’t misheard . To be specific, it’s a 2019 Silverado 1500 5.3 V8 and I wouldn’t even have flinched and had the service done at $89.95. 5 hours ago New Call in advance, price posts are misleading. 49.95 is a cheap mattress trick, I wasted time coming over here. I have no complaints about this business and location. These guys here are shoot you straight guys that make sure that everything they do for you is jam up! Alex and Rich are amazing to work with. They listen, they explain and they make the effort to do whatever it takes to satisfy your needs. I spent over $6K here getting my transmission fixed, but not once did I question this crews honesty and not once did I feel like these guys were ripping me off.
