I had transmission fluid leak from the transmission pan due to one of the bolts that hold the pan got broken inside the block and the head snapped off. I went to the dealership, and after evaluation they called me back and said that their most experienced mechanic looked at it and said it is risky to try to extract the bolt. There is a high chance the drill they use could drill through the block. They said I should be prepared to buy a new transmission. I contacted several local shops in Burlington and all of them said they don't have experience with that. After doing some online search I found AAMCO Transmissions, however, they had a few weeks wait time. They were my last shot here in Burlington before I start to look out of state, so I made an appointment anyway. I spoke with Jason and he seemed confident that is an easy job they should be able to do. I dropped the car off the night before my appointment. Jason called me the next morning and told me that they got the bolt out! They put a new pan on with a new gasket. The transmission fluid doesn't leak anymore. Very skillful and professional team. They are a bit pricey and the wait time is long, but they are well worth it especially with your not every day vehicle issues. I highly recommend AAMCO Transmissions & Total Car Care!

Had my truck 2 and a half months. I had to hunt down find and get them the parts they said they needed. Then they tell me they can’t do it. I think they lost the parts I got them try telling me that the new harness is in. But didn’t have the old one. I get my truck back with no driveshafts in and the engine ripped apart. I had to do the rear chassis wire harness south. And I can’t figure out for the life of me how a broken driveshaft can destroy the main wire harness. It’s all on top of the motor. The rear one plugs in at the front wheel and run down by the transmission and was destroyed without a doubt. They are a fricken joke. I went back for the front driveshaft and they give me one that wasn’t the one I got them they think I’m a fricken retard. Cost me $1700 and had to have my truck towed home. I’ve never seen a company so dishonest lol dishonest, and none trustworthy. Don’t even have the intake bolts to put my motor back together I could go on and on but I think you guys got the point.

Jason and Nick are both stand-up people who helped me a tremendous amount when my car broke down 800 miles from home. They presented me with all my options and when I ultimately made the choice to transport the car to my brother many states away (unrelated to concerns with the shop - just made more sense in my situation), they coordinated extensively with him and the transporter while holding onto the car. I would trust them with my car over and over and recommend this location to anyone looking for an honest and reliable auto shop. Thank you both so much (and anyone else who was involved that I missed!).

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely honest and good people ! I had my car towed over 90 miles from the Adirondacks because of a transmission issue. After checking with some local mechanics that I trust I was told that Aamco in South Burlington is probably the best place to have work done and it is worth the extra distance to get the car there. They were right. Nick and Jason are knowledgeable and most of all honest. I’m back on the road. They were very charitable to me and could easily have charged me a lot of money. I bring my Toyota RAV4 to AAMCO every time I need maintenance. I recently brought it in for new brakes thinking I needed all my brakes redone since that’s what a shop told me - they called me to let me know my back brakes were perfect and only needed my front. Most shops would have just done all 4 without saying something and letting me pay the price. And on top of that- this was done in one day! I will never go anywhere else

I don't know if I really wanna post this because I'd like to keep this place my little secret, but these guys do great work that people ought to hear about. One on occasion (my very first interaction with them), they went through my vehicle, pointed out the repairs needed, and indicated that it was the type of work that they would happily do, but which a dealership could do more cheaply. They did not charge me at all for their time. Since then, I have gone to them for all manners of vehicle maintenance and I have developed confidence that they will do whatever work is needed, only the work that is needed, and charge an extremely fair price. Such good people are hard to find.

I had such an incredible experience here and could not recommend them more! Jason was incredible and went above and beyond to help me. I called needing to get my brakes fixed ASAP and I have such a hard schedule but Jason told me to bring it by the next morning. Not only did Jason help me get my car fixed but he even helped get me to work and THEN he brought my car back to me once it was finished, saving me from having to walk or get a ride! I have had a transmission leak in my old MB 380 sl for years. I have had it to the dealer and multiple other shops. Only to have the leaks or other leaks come back. Nick quickly diagnosed the problem. A seal at the shifter lever. He repaired my car in a timely fashion for an excellent price. I would highly recommend.

I took my Chevy to Nick at AAMCO a few months ago who diagnosed it with a torque converter/torque converter pump failure. He spent countless hours on the phone with my extended warranty. Nick was so helpful and spent so many hours on the phone for the warranty. I had taken my truck to the dealer multiple times until they finally after months came to the same conclusion as Nick. It took Nick about 2 hours to diagnose the problem he had diagnosed based on the year make and model of my truck. He knows his stuff and he extremely knowledgeable about transmissions. Very happy to have gone to him and would highly recommend him to anyone needing a correct answer to their transmission problems.

My son needed a new flywheel and clutch on his Subaru. Two Subaru dealers in the area could not give us an appointment for a week. Nick at AAMCO took me in for an appointment the day after I called which was a huge relief with this kind of problem. His guys even worked on the car on a Saturday and the car was finished on time. He even check the car for other problems and was able to fix them for us before they became a huge issue. The total cost was very reasonable and what Nick quoted in advance of the job. Nick kept me update on the progress of the car, and I could reach him any time I needed to ask questions. These guys are great mechanics, reasonably priced, and deliver excellent customer service. I must say, that is rare to find intelligent and honest mechanics these days. Nick Martel, Owner of Amco transmissions in South Burlington, Vermont, went out of his way to accommodate me multiple times, at no cost, to help me diagnose something that has been wrong with my 2013 jeep grand Cherokee. I have already spent close to $5000 at my dealership replacing engine mounts, then transmission mounts and even a full rear end!!!!! which by the way, never fixed the problem with my 2013 jeep grand Cherokee!!!!!!! Nick quickly identified the issue and has made his recommendations for the repair of my transfer case. Nick and his team have decades of experience and not only that, but “hands on smartness”. Years of experience and also care for their customers. They want to get the job done for the customer correctly, without shooting in the dark….like so many dealerships and repair shops do…at the costumer’s expense…. $$$$$$$ AAMCO transmissions should’ve been my first stop. Furthermore, it would’ve been the only stop I needed to make and my car would’ve been repaired without spending $5000 on things that didn’t need to be done.! Thank you Nick Martel and your fine team. Me and my fiancé had a great experience at AMMCO, we brought our Audi in thinking it needed a new transmission, turns out it did not (thankfully) they did the work on it and where very easy to work with as coming up with almost 2 grand isn’t always the easiest and they where very patient with us. Nick who I believe is the owner was very kind and helpful! Definitely would recommend this Business!

Kevin at AAMCO south burlington is a literal lifesaver. When my Sienna had me stranded on 89 during UVM move in, I thought I was done for. I was certain my van was dead at the most critical time I needed it. It was late Friday afternoon and I was potentially without my van (full of college stuff BTW). Kevin got me in at 3PM and spent 2.5 hours diagnosing, testing, checking and explaining everything going on with my transmission. He went above and beyond and saved us late on a Friday. Just an honest dude and a good human. My understanding is that he bought the shop recently and is doing what honest folks do. Working hard with integrity. If my daughters have a problem with their car, I am sending them to Kevin 100%. It's so hard to find honest mechanics that wont fleece you and do half assed work. Trust Kevin and AAMCO S Burlington. They do more than transmissions. 100% stand up guy..I can't say enough good things about him.

I wish I could give more than 5 stars. I highly highly recommend this auto shop. I called for a diagnose on my truck with a locked up transmission. Told me that I could come right over and they would try to fix my issue. He fixed it in less than 5 Minutes and sent me on my way.
