I’ve taken my car to Advance Auto Repair twice now for two completely different issues, and both times the service has been nothing but top tier. My service advisor, John Garza, is an absolute baller. He took care of me from start to finish, kept me updated on what was going on, and broke down the repairs in a way that actually made sense. This place is great! They did an entire inspection report of my vehicle when I went in for an oil change. The front desk was friendly and super nice and the service was exceptional. Have come to Advanced for the past 7 years. They are very friendly, always accommodate with openings for oil change, even give courtesy drives to and from home, if waiting is not an option. I bring my bike and cycle while I wait. They know to call me when they are finished, and I just ride back to a completed oil change service. They do not do “extra” unnecessary charges, always ask if filters, etc are in your budget to be changed. Give diagnostics to future appointments as well (ex: transmission fluid), so nothing is a surprise. I highly suggest AAR for your car’s life! Update: 10/9/25- I had serious car troubles. In Plano! Got my car back to AAR.. although they couldn’t help me in this specific instance, they waived the diagnostic fee, because “we don’t want to lose you as a customer”. I can tell you, at this moment in time, I needed some good news SO BADLY, and that was it. These guys are pros, and fair. Even if the work can’t be done, they are fair. And that is more than we ALL can say for most of the world these days. I have been coming here since 2017, and will continue to do so, as well as recommend them to anyone who needs help with routine or complex car maintenance/ repairs. 6 stars. Thank you, Jimmy …

Daughter attends UNT. Her car's steering felt loose. Had this happen 3-4 yrs ago. At that time, I drove 2 miles to my regular mechanic in mid-cities. He said the nut fell off the steering linkage. Fixed in 10 min. Might be same problem again? I call around to see if simple problem could be fixed today. If it's not simple, Mon is fine. I'm told to just have car brought in. My daughter gets there. They want $127 diagnostic fee. Plus, they're not very nice. Not rude or mean either. She wants to take somewhere else. Since she has to spend next 5 yrs there (PhD program), we don't want unfriendly relationship. If only they had told me about diagnostic fee in advance.

My car broke down an hour from where I live. I was unfamiliar with any of the shops in Denton so I quickly googled the closest one to take my car to. I am so glad I eneded up taking my car here. They were very quick to get it looked at and let me know what was wrong. Unfortunately, I decided it was not worth fixing and instead decided to sell it. They were so kind to let me leave it there while I arranged to have it picked up, which ended up taking much longer then expected due to the first tow company never showing up and then getting his with a major ice storm. As disastrous as my week was they were so nice and really made the whole situation less stressful for me.

Eric was transparent about the issues and they brought to light some problems with my vehicle without forcing unnecessary repairs on me. Hi… I took time to place a review. After took 2 vehicles to get fixed, I can say that the job was done, Even I have the opportunity to meet the owner, Mr. Tommy, who gave ride back home twice. It was nice meeting him. I met John and Erick who were doing a good job keeping me informed the advance in my vehicles. Only I can say that I had a REALLY BAD EXPERIENCE with a gentleman who work in the front desk, who did not want to give me his name, when he was giving me a ride back home, telling that is not relevant or something like that. He drives a White Dodge Ram. You can find who he is. When I went to his car for the ride, I said thank you. He was so unprofessional since the beginning eating while he was talking to me, and with a really BAD ATTITUDE. He asked me : where you go? I said if we take 377, after I35, svc road and Teasley next. He said ..what street? I know all these places. I told him Canoe Ridge Ln. where I live. That’s the moment when I told him that I don’t like his attitude. He said I’m polite. Polite? BULL I told him I will never come back to your business, because of him. The day when I came to pick up my car, Erick asked me: what happened with that guy? I told him… how you know about that? He said, we heard yesterday. The only way is that the gentleman talked about with them Erick told me that, HE HAD SAME ISSUES WITH OTHER CUSTOMER TOO. It’s not the first time, he said. I wished the best to Mr Tommy and his business, but I think that guy can not talk to customers. He needs to stay in the back at the shop.

Left Wisconsin for Texas to visit family over Christmas and timing chain went out in Denton, literally destroying the engine. I had AAA tow it to Advanced Auto Repair not knowing a thing about this business. James was apologetic and as it was closing time on Saturday said they would tear into it first thing Monday morning, which they did. James laid out the facts, gave me an estimate and I gave him a green light to go ahead. They ordered a new engine and other parts and James kept me appraised of how things were going during the week. Even with the Christmas holiday his techs were able to get everything assembled and road tested for me to get home to Green Bay, roughly a 1300 mile trip which took us from 86 degree weather to 11 degrees. The bill was big, but justifiable. I was pleased that James called me on the return trip while passing through Illinois to make sure everything was alright. Truck ran like a champ. For my money I received exceptional customer service and would highly recommend.

I took my truck in for an oil change and transmission oil flush and change, while describing some of the symptoms that I felt the truck exhibit. The mechanic thoroughly examined and tested drove my truck and provided his assessment. He determined that there were no apparent mechanical issues at this time and both fluids did not need to be changed until much later. I genuinely appreciate the integrity of Advanced Auto and even though I have friends in the auto mechanic industry, I use Advanced Auto for all of my families fleet of vehicles.
