Went there for smog check. Straightforward case, submitted electronically to DMV. There is a small language barrier, which might make them appear a bit rough (English is my third language as well, so no hard feelings), but they do have great work ethics. Another customer showed up while I was waiting and their car required smog check from star certified testing center. These fellows explained it to them instead of just doing a check for fees.

I would give them a 10+. We were there for a dance convention from out of town. When I went out to start my car it would not start. I called AAA. They sent 2 different companies to try to start the car. They jumped it with no success. Then one of them started hammering on my alternator with a hammer and said my starter and alternator needed to be replaced. Finally I had it towed to Agnew Autocare since they were one of the few repair shops in the area that could get me in and guaranteed to repair my vehicle the same day so we could drive home. They looked at it within 15 min. and gave me an estimate and told me it would be completed in an hour. Not only did they keep their word on the time for the repair, they also came in under the estimate they had given me. It was just a bad battery and they had to replace the battery leads. These guys were friendly, honest, and saved our trip. Now I know why they had a line of vehicles when my car arrived at their shop! I would highly recommend this shop to anyone for all their automotive needs whether it is regular maintenance or repairs!! I am a hard customer to please and Agnew exceeded all my expectations and then some!! Jill

The owner may be "old school" and have that old school style of talking but he's sincere and honest...last of the honest auto shop? He tells you as it is, which can sound coarse and "wild" to some. I've been taking all my vehicles here...post dealer warranties and maintenance.

Found them initially on Yelp and decided to give them a call. All I needed was a basic oil change and rotation of tires. Don (owner) was very straight forward and friendly. Pricing was very fair and I felt really taken care of. The service was very quick and after he even did a walk thru with me to show me that I might be in need of some shocks in the future. Now a days its hard to find a business that isn't looking to make as much money as possible on you. Honest, friendly, and efficient! I'll definitely be coming back and I will also being telling my friends and family about Don and his team of great mechanics.

I've been going to Agnew Auto care for many years now as it's very close to my work. Don has always been honest and fair in all his dealings with me. I'm one to compare prices and verify the extent of work that is actually needed. His prices have always been very reasonable and the work is always done well. He's done oil changes, brakes, tune ups, and other miscellaneous little fixes over the years and I've never had a problem. This is why he is so highly rated and has tons of business.

Been coming here for the last 4 years since we moved to California, and have never been anything but 100% satisfied. He’s punctual, honest, and will take the time to explain what is wrong. We had to go to another place in the Bay Area once for an oil change and they gave us a long list of “necessary repairs”. Our car started leaking shortly after this visit. We took it to Agnew and it turns out that the other place had botched the oil change, and that none of the repairs were necessary. He quickly fixed the car and had us on our way. HIGHLY recommend getting a second (or first!) opinion here for repairs! I won’t be going anywhere else.

I would give 0 if I can. My friends and I got a flat tire and drove to this shop because it was very close to where we were and it seems it had good reviews. There was just a small screw in the tire. One of the people in the shop looked at it. He had us rotate the wheel so the part of the tire that was damaged would be out and accessible. Then, he took the screw out, and showed us some material that he claimed to be the highest quality!! He just literally shoved those in the hole on the tire and he said we are done! Nothing more! This morning, around fifteen hours after “he fixed” the tire, it is completely flat!! Lost my meeting!! We just got scammed by this store. Fake positive reviews.

I have been to the shop a few times for a variety of reasons including repairs, smog check, tire issues. Don has a very good understanding of car mechanics and always took time to investigate and understand the issue and recommend the best option. I have taken several of my cars to the shop and always came out very satisfied. Sometimes he can be somewhat short with the customers, but I believe that a lot of it is because the shop is so busy most of the time.

Would give 0 star if i can, AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST!!! Don is rude, a very terrible and unprofessional person. Does not let you pick up the car even if I have agreed to pay and scheduled the payment. Saying things like "Oh I didn't see". Have to call the tow crew for FOUR times and I have to call him to argue with him and show the receipt. Waste too much time and money and doesn't even get my car repaired. If you see this review, please please do not come to this place and never support the business like this.

Update: 01/08/205 Don diagnosed my electrical issue in 30 seconds, fixed it in 5 seconds and charged me $. This is why I bring real issues to Don when it comes to auto care needs. I have referred friends as well. He and his team are awesome. Old review: Don and his team at Agnew Auto Care came through for my friend when she needed him most. Her Audi was leaking coolant and was at risk of overheating and eventually engine failure. Don diagnosed the issue with special equipment that isolated the problem. He then checked the part number in his system, gave us a schematic of the part and said that if we got the part asap he could do a same day installation! This was music to my friend’s ears because her and her family rely on this car for transportation. The cost was VERY reasonable and he had the job completed the same day, as promised. I highly recommend Agnew and Don’s team.

I went in to Agnew for a cv axel noise and explained to mechanic where the noise was coming from. The mechanic had car for A WEEK and failed to properly diagnose the car, insisting it was a sway bar link he charged me $320 but failed to correct the noise. I went to a shop after who immediately said it needed a front bearing replaced. I contacted agnew asking for a discounted repair since he failed to diagnose the problem. Unfortunately he told me he didn’t want to work on my car. Nice guy but not great at communicating problems or estimates.
