Great Deal for Smog Checking Cars that are 1996-2000. His coupon for $28.95 (+$8.25 for cert) was the lowest I could find for my 1999 Crown Victoria. He also asks a few basic questions before taking your business to make sure you aren't going to fail for a dumb reason that is easy to correct beforehand. Another business, Auto Star Smog & Repair around the corner had a coupon, but their *most cars* fine print was for 2000 and up. Auto Star Smog & Repair said they will match other coupons (and beat it by some) but they wouldn't match A-K's, and Auto Star said A-K Auto Repair wouldn't honor theirs either. But A-K did with no problem at all.

I go out of my way to get my smog done here because Tony gets the job done, there are never any issues and his quoted price will be what you pay. There are no hidden fees like with other places. I paid 59.95 out the door for a 2007 van. Call ahead if you don't want to wait because he can get busy.

Great service! Ace was an ace at his job. Didn't have to wait, and my car passed smog very quickly. Highly recommend this SMOG check. Good price for a 1999 car. Other places, I priced, wanted a lot more. Busy automotive center, so make sure you take it to AK Automotive.

The gentlemen at this location are very courteous and professional. I was in and out in about 15 minutes (luckily my car pass smog first try) on early Saturday. These location runs a promotion for smog at about $40 if you check online. Also, shop was very clean and conveniently located within Mobil gas station.

This is my sixth times to bring my cars to Tony (A-K Auto Repair and Smog) for for services. Tony is very knowledgeable, friendly, and takes care the customers. This morning I brought my 1997 sport car to perform the smog test. Tony and his staff got it done very efficiently. Tony also noticed the engine idle was a bit low and will caused the engine to stall. Tony adjusted the idol speed without any additional changes. I highly recommend Tony for any auto repair needed.

Very pleased…We just picked up our fully fixed 2011 BMW from Tony’s shop! We had it towed to him where it wouldn’t start, but AAA said the battery showed power. Hmmm…Using his knowledge, expertise and patience, Tony was able to locate the problem and fix it…… not an easy task… Just a note… there was a Massarati in the bay getting some attention when we picked up our car…. ! Tony of A-K Auto is an amazing mechanic. I've struggled getting my old car ('96 Geo Tracker) to pass smog. I've taken it to other shops and they give up, give ridiculous suggestions like I need a new engine, then take my money. Tony went the extra mile and took the time to diagnose and repair my car's complicated smog issues. His depth of knowledge is extremely impressive. Tony is a guru of smog repair. If you have a car that nobody can figure out, take it to Tony. He loves a challenge and I definitely gave him one. I am extremely grateful for his help because this was my last attempt at CA smog for the car. I was going to be forced to junk it or sell out of state. Thank goodness Tony was able to figure out how to get it repaired to pass smog with flying colors. The care has 160K miles and it now runs smooth as new.

I've been taking my 95 Toyota pickup to these guys for about 8 years now (3 visits, IIRC). Every single visit has been an exceptional experience. They do honest work, they'll likely tell you what you might need to do to fix your vehicle if your it fails. They notified me this time around that my EVAP canister would need to be replaced to pass the next smog test. As long as these guys are around, I'll be a lifelong customer.
