this shop is excellent and reminds me of way back when things were done right! sent here by carmax and hung out while the car was looked at and diagnosed, fixed, and returned to me promptly. owner was super nice and actually present at his place of business, which you don't see anymore. process was easy and simple, a conversation and a key exchange--I will be changing to this shop for all my car needs from now on and I'm a picky subaru owner. it was a pleasure guys, see you again for the next issue! thank you for doing things the old-fashioned way (I'm not as young as I look....), you guys really all made the dreaded task of car repair an easy and trusting experience. highly recommended, and they've gained a loyal customer from over here.

I have nothing but praise for Albany Auto Service and Tire. I took my Pontiac G8 out for a drive for the first time this year and while the first drive was excellent, the next couple of times starting the car resulted in a flashing check engine light. Albany Auto Service and Tire was just a block away. After getting the car detailed, I started the car again and there was no check engine light so I slowly drove there. Despite being very busy they took my car in to check it with the scanner. The owner of the shop assured me that the code was temporary based on the fact that it had been garaged and on battery tender for many months and that nothing was seriously wrong with the engine. His insights reassured me that everything was ok. I can't thank Albany Auto Service and Tire enough.

I hate posting a negative review since I’m a veteran and this is a veteran owned company, but I feel this is important. I brought my vehicle in for several repairs which had built up over time: I bought my car from CarMax and had a RepairPal warranty, which became a problem since there were few repair shops who participated with the program and the ones who did rarely completed the work satisfactorily. Kian and his crew had good reviews, so despite being a distance away from me I dropped my car off for four repairs: a transfer case issue, malfunctioning rain sensor, gas gauge malfunction and inoperable rear window. They kept my car for a few weeks and I took delivery of it about a month ago. There was no charge as all repairs were covered under warranty, but I still have issues to this day: 1. Very quickly, I noticed the same issue was present with the transfer case (this is a Toyota issue with a service bulletin authorized for some internal case components) and I did mention the bulletin when I dropped off the car. They replaced the entire unit, but it is still faulty since the defective internal components weren’t replaced. Since I can’t give up my car for another two weeks I’m going to find a local solution. 2. When I picked up the car, the rain sensor was attached to the window with tape (see photo.) I thought they had taped it on so that the actual adhesive could cure, but when I took the tape off a week later the entire unit started dangling from its cable. It was not attached to the window. I called Jim at the center, who spoke with the tech and told me “that was how it was supposed to be attached….that’s all the tape that came with the kit.” Are you kidding me? It looks like a second grader taped it up there! He suggested I take it to a glass shop to have it attached, so now I have to take even more time to fix the issue that they should have completed. In their defense, it appears that the gas gauge and rear window were fixed. Hopefully they’ll stay that way. I was hopeful that I had finally found an honest, reputable repair shop to have my future repairs completed, but it looks like the search continues.

My daughter's 2013 Jeep Wrangler broke down not far from his shop. The owner happened to be passing by and offered to help. Him and a couple guys pushed the car to the shop. They got the car running but they couldn't duplicate the problem. He told me they did not want to throw parts at it. Although they thought it was the fuel pump. The problem had been going on for a couple days so I suggested what I had seen on the internet. I suggested going with the cheapest part first and the owner agreed. He replaced the throttle position sensor for $27. It took 10 minutes to replace. He charged my daughter no diagnostic fee or labor which certainly would have been justified. One week later and no problems so far. It's nice to have an honest shop nearby when I'm not able to help my daughter. Thank you, guys!

Not to impressed honestly. I had a family members car serviced because the dealer is crazy overpriced. I spoke to Kiev and set the appointment up. I was very specific that I needed the 20k service done, tire pressure and breaks checked as well and all fluid levels checked. I got there and there was no appointment made. I picked the car up and the next day the windshield fluid was empty. Following week Tire pressure monitor showed they were all at 26 and not the recommended 36. They were very well priced and people speak very highly of this shop. It might have been an off day, but if basic maintenance that I request to be checked isn’t? I see that as a red flag.
