First of all, this is my second visit to this shop. The first was for an oil change and tire rotation with specifics on how i wanted them rotated . Went for pickup and they were not rotated as asked. I marked them before giving vehicle to them . No biggee, gave them another chance. More recently, had a seized brake caliper , rotors and brake hoses repaired. Picked up truck and ran some errands. Brake pedal ran soft at traffic lights. HHMMMM ? Continued errands , idiot light comes on “low brake fluid” . Checked reservoir , sure enough something was draining the fluid ? Turns out , one of the brake hoses they replaced was not tight going into the caliper . Fluid spots on driveway , all wet inside wheel . This could have been catastrophic had I not known what to look for . I believe future business will be taken elsewhere.

I went there recently because the car's brake lights were staying on. A very minor problem, but I don't fit under the dash as easily as I once did. They fixed the problem quickly and didn't try to pull anything. The total cost was higher than if I did it myself but certainly reasonable for having someone else do it. My feeling is that they are honest and therefore a good place to get repairs done. If I ever change my mind I will be updating this review promptly.

They put a new timing component set on my Chevy Cruze at the first of May. It stsrted making a rattling noise yesterday, i carried it by this morning and the water pump was going bad. They jumped on it immediately and just got me back on the road! They stabd behind their warranty! Check them out if you ever have issues!

The worst auto center. Total rip off and they don’t have mechanics that know what they doing. Never again will they get my business or will I refer them.

Well, my biggest question here is why would anyone else be listed on the CarMax warranty repair page? I know because I went to multiple of them before I found Archer’s, and discovered there was no comparison. They are fast, accurate, great to deal with, and in 60+ years of owning 28 cars (that’s as many as I can list), I have never been happier with an auto repair facility, which includes “the good ole days” when I lived in the San Francisco area and took my Porsches to the facility that worked on/modded many of the pro athletes’ cars there. Go see them, they’ll show you why Archer’s is the best independent shop in the MB Metro.

UPDATE to the childish, unprofessional response! First off, I did not want or need it diagnosed. The request was to replace the part. I wanted the part OEM, not a trusted supplier of yours so you can mark up the hell out of it. *PLUS You never said anything about getting the part, so you're a damn liar! ACTUALLY I did find someone to do it my way, the mopar dealership. And to anyone needed Mopar computer work, go see Dave and Atlantic Transmissons, that who they will call anyways. Just save yourself the middle man. They are the ones who recommended this shop, I informed them how my interaction went and I told them send people to a BETTER QUALITY SHOP, because anywhere is better than here! Apparently they don't like easy jobs. I was referred here from another shop. My job was easy, but the younger guy up front didn't want to do the job. Oh well. They told me go to the dealer. I was only going to use cause the other shop recommended them. Personally I wouldn't recommend them. I guess they only do oil changes. Side note, this is the shop my mother used for exhaust work on her trans am and the mechanic bent the pinch welds on her car putting it on the lift. Car is sold now. But I remembered that writing the review. Good luck to the shop in their new building, but my money will be spent elsewhere

First of all, I have been using Archer’s for car repair for the last several years and had been pleased up until yesterday, February 28, 2025. I had stopped by about a week ago because my check engine light was on. One of the employees ran the codes and said it was an emission system issue. I asked if it was all right to drive the car and was told it would be fine. I said I would call in the next few days to schedule an appointment. On February 22, 2025, I called to schedule for Friday, 2/28/25 between 1-2. I also said that I could leave the car overnight if needed. I was told that this would be fine. I made another call on Wednesday, 2/26/25 to confirm the appointment. On Friday, 2/28/2025, I was at the business to drop off my car. I had made arrangements to be picked up and leave the car overnight. When I walked into the office and told the young man at the first desk why I was there, he told me that it was already 1:30. I explained that I had made these arrangements earlier in the week. I told him that the light was off at that time, but I wanted it checked. He dismissed me with, “bring it back if the light comes back on.” The issue had probably corrected itself. My name was not on the schedule board; I looked. Whoever told me earlier in the week to bring it in on Friday had obviously neglected to schedule me. The employee was very unconcerned about my problem. By the way, none of the other staff members had anything to say, including the one who had run the codes for me. I will not be back, nor will I recommend your business. The guy at the first desk needs to develop people skills. Just so you know, the check engine light is back on! Guess it didn’t “correct itself.” Joyce Jenerette

The work completed to fix several mechanical and fluid leaking issues on my beloved 25 year old BMW was clearly communicated and fairly priced. I'm grateful for their care and efforts to add more years on the road with the Bimmer. Regular maintenance on my daily driver has always been solid as well. These guys are the best in town!

I’ll begin by stating that when it comes to providing a proficient level of care and services, informed consent is a basic requirement. My wife came in early for a 1 o’clock appointment to receive an oil change, have her check engine light and error message regarding the tire pressure addressed. With an initial quote of around $70. Not including a socket lamp of $35 which ended up being more. By 3:57 PM (about 4 hours later) she was charged $313. After hearing of this and discussing the matter over the phone with the attendant, they explained that she was given the option of scanning codes or a diagnosis without further explanation. Let me reiterate: I asked him if an explanation was given, and if prices were mentioned, and he confirmed with me that no to both of those. So back to my point, “Informed Consent”, not the assumption that we know the ins and outs of the services performed. what we were really inquiring about is the cost of getting repairs done. Had we known what we were signing up for, we would’ve clearly elected to just have codes scanned and to discuss the cost of repair or altogether refused service and just stuck to the initial reason of visit, which was an oil change. Simply enough, I’m not satisfied with the level of attention that the staff provided, labor aside. I’m sure they’re proficient in all other areas, but their attention to detail, especially when it pertains to the cost of labor, leaves much more to be desired. Make sure to apply due diligence on your own behalf as they don’t seem to care.

I’ve brought three vehicles there in the past 5 years. Archer recently replaced my daughter’s transmission on her 17 year old car. Repairs are still cheaper than a car payment. Tranny work is always expensive, but I’ve worked with these guys enough in the past that they operate with integrity and my daughters best interest in mind (even though everything she needs is sending me to the poor house). I trust they will take care of any other issues with the same level of attention.

Had an issue with my daughter’s car that I just didn’t have time to fix. I needed it back quickly. They got it in and had it back on the road in the time I needed thanks to Ryan and the techs. Update. 1/14/26 I thought I was pleased with the service and speed until it was time to change the oil per the mileage on their sticker. I noticed the drain plug was exceptionally tight. To my surprise upon removal of the plug it was damaged and a helicoil came out with it. I do not understand their thinking or the fact that they did not inform me of their actions considering it now requires a new oil pan. I guess since they knew the car was leaving for Florida and not coming back to Myrtle beach they wouldn’t have to deal with the aftermath of their decision. Very disappointed in this ordeal and I do not recommend their dishonesty

Very friendly and professional. I got my rear brakes serviced a while back, pads and rotors. For the most part things were good, after a family vacation, I started hearing excessive squeaking. They quickly got me scheduled to see what was causing the issue. I offered to pay and upgrade pads if need be. They said it wasn’t necessary, performed some cleaning and adjustments. Unfortunately, I still have the same problem. To me the original problem is not the issue, it’s how you take care of it that matters. Sadly, this didn’t work for me.

I wish I could give them 10 stars for their above and beyond level of service. From the moment I walked in, I was treated with the utmost respect and they were very upfront about wait times and the diagnostic process. After checking me in and processing the paperwork, they offered me a ride home when they heard me mention I was about to request and uber. I wasn’t even a paying customer yet, and they went above and beyond to de-ice and warm a vehicle just to drive me home. After diagnosing problems, coordinated seamlessly with my insurance company to get everything moving smoothly. Highly highly highly recommend. Finding honest and good natured repair shop is difficult these days, you will be thankful you walked through their doors.

Yesterday we arrived at the Archer's Action Auto Service Center by appointment for a camber-convergence (Toyota Sienna 2011). After the work was done, a problem appeared that did not exist before the service, and another malfunction was added that occurred after their intervention. We returned to investigate, but the staff refused to fix anything, saying it was "not their fault," without even conducting a proper diagnosis or inspection of the car. No responsibility for their work and a complete lack of customer orientation. We spent time and money, but in the end we got two problems instead of one. I do not recommend this service.

I live in the upstate of South Carolina and own a house which I do not rent out on the coast of Myrtle Beach. During this drive to Myrtle Beach my Lexus RX 350 emergency brake light and cruise control malfunction error codes reappeared. I was referred to Archers by Averill Automotive due to only being in town for the Thanksgiving Holiday. I very explicitly told the gentlemen at Archers that worked behind the desk that this was an intermittent repeatable error codes that I have seen about five times in the last 3 weeks. I told him my local shop in upstate South Carolina has seen it twice cleared out the codes reset everything electronically and sent me on my way. Assuming the “rural-ness” of my hometown I took it that they didn’t know how to work on “fancier” cars. Well guess what. This shop done the extract same thing. Only charging me approx 3 times more than my hometown shop did. 50.00 dollars in my hometown verse 135.00 here at MB. I have had the car out of the shop for 2 hours now with my family and guess what just happened again.. Prior to leaving, I asked the gentlemen if the light comes back on again what is my recourse his response bring it back in and let us search some more? I will not be providing any more of my money to this shop. After I clearly told him the first time that the codes have been cleared, and the system has been reset, but it comes back on after driving 35-40 mins of constant driving. I assume they didn’t trust me as a customer when I told him this information and took the simple and easiest fix for them to get money. This company can be assured that I no longer trust them as a mechanic. From my perspective this company’s focus seems to be quick fixing to get repeat business to get more money.
