I did a pre purchase inspection with Jeff for a car I wanted to buy off craigslist. He was honest and thorough and had very reasonable rates. Thanks to Jeff, I didn't get a bad car! I'm very thankful for him. He seems like a fair, nice person to go to and I would return for future car repairs!

Do not go here for an inspection, especially if pre-purchase. The owner made me pay for the inspection report with the understanding that he would email me the report ASAP, which was necessary because I was taking the car back to the dealership and needed that info to be able to make a decision about purchasing it, but I didn’t receive the report until THREE days later. It was also not a thorough inspection or report - literally just a list of recommended repairs with no description or photos. The owner told me that the items they recommended for repair post-inspection were estimated to cost around $1k. I had the vehicle inspected at a different shop and they not only identified other things that needed to be replaced on the car, but informed me that the necessary repairs would actually cost anywhere from $2500-$4000 depending on how many I chose to do at one time. I would strongly recommend you go elsewhere for an inspection on your car.

I cannot recommend Auto Care of Redwood Shores highly enough. My family has gone to Jeff for at least 15 years. He is the most honest person, even telling me I can get a better deal at the dealer if that is the case. He accommodates our schedules, works quickly and truly knows cars. I trust him completely. I’ve only had excellent experiences with Auto Care of Redwood Shores and always recommend it to my friends. If I could give 10 stars, I would.

I'm very happy with my first experience at this shop. Both of my cars have only been serviced at the dealership prior to this year. I feel that the service I received at Auto Care of Redwood Shores was better than the dealership while the cost was lower. Jeff was easy to talk to and thoroughly explained what needed to be done and the time and costs required. Both cars were finished on time and I could actually feel them handling better while driving them afterwards. I definitely recommend Auto Care of Redwood Shores and will gladly return for my future car service needs.

Ordered some control arm bushings thinking that I could rent some tools to press them in, and when that didn't work out, I called several places and they all were not able to handle the job. I read that Jeff could take anything apart and put it back together better than before and how true that is. He took a look at the control arms and bushings and did a perfect job. They fit like a glove!!!!! Very impressed...and it helped me out of a jam. Thanks Jeff! 2024 Needed coil springs installed on both struts for my BMW. Jeff arranged for me to drop off the struts and coil springs and had them ready for pickup in a few hours -- perfectly installed. Thanks again Jeff, very much appreciated! Richard

Found Auto Care of Redwood Shores from Open Bay which has a reputation of enrolling only quality repair shops. Jeff was great explained what needed to be done and the price. He was the 1st repair shop I've gone to in over 10 years that actually saved the part he replaced and showed it to me. In the day I dropped off my minivan I observed Jeff asking a customer if they knew how to check the engine oil and transmission level. When the customer said "no" he took the time to show them. He even cleaned my engine bay so it looked new. To top it off he was funny. I definitely will take my car repair business back to Auto Care of Redwood Shores even though I live in Daly City. I shopped around before choosing this shop and My faith in mechanics was restored. Jeff and his team are friendly and extremely knowledgable in their field. My car had coolant leaking when I brought it in. They inspected my car for free and worked with me to get the repairs I needed. Jeff is very transparent with his prices and was a godsend. He quickly found the part I needed and ordered it, keeping me in the loop every step of the way. His team went above and beyond by cleaning the exterior of my car AND cleaned my engine. Who do you know does things like that out of the kindness of their heart?! The issue was fixed, he even lowered prices on me. My conversation with Jeff was strongly productive as he informed me on everyone of my future needs for my car. I’ll be coming back here for sure.

Jeff is by far the best mechanic I have ever used.. The responsiveness and quality are unmatched. Everytime I had a question about anything he always answered his phone. He made me feel safe through the whole process of having to get my transmission replaced. I've been driving my car for about a week now and it feels and sounds better than the day I bought it.. In my opinion, you would have to be crazy not to take your car to him. He goes above and beyond what I could of ever expected.. He even cleaned my engine. He truly cares.. Had a busted started in my 2009 Honda Accord. Jeff said he could take a look at it to make sure that was the actual issue and not something else. He confirmed that it was indeed my starter that needed replacing and gave me 3 brands to choose from. I ended up going with the brand name at a discounted price since he gives so much business to his auto parts store. Jeff was very friendly and explained all the steps needed to complete the repair. He also gave a very competitive price for the repair. Auto Care of Redwood Shores will definitely be my new go to spot for all things auto repair!

The best car mechanic I have worked with to-date. The Toyota dealer and another mechanic I showed my Prius to - both said they will need to take the engine apart and quoted me more than $5000. Jeff said there was no need to take the engine apart. He fixed the car in a couple of hours and the repairs cost just about $1000. Very professional service. Very fun to talk to. As a bonus, he cleaned the engine area of my car for free - something he wasn't expected or supposed to do. I am attaching before and after photo. Jeff and his family has been in this business for more than 50 years. They have 11 shops around the Bay Area. I am not going to any other mechanic ever.
