I took my car to them because I failed the emission test. So they fixed the problem and instructed me to drive it a while and bring it back. I took it back today and they checked it. All is well and now I can go and take my emission test so I can get my sticker.

Stopped in to get my car fixed because I failed a emission test and left with a $60 diagnostic Bill and a $285.00 job diagnoses which I already known of the issue. I rather they just fix the problem instead of charging me twice

These people are the biggest rip offs there is. And STILL never fixed the problem. In fact after spending $700 i drove my car 2 blocks before it cut off on me traffic. They wanted to charge me more money after that. 6mths later their acdelco part went out and wanted $80 more however i had a 1 yr warranty on it. These people are schisters!

I took my mom's car in for an ABS light issue, thinking these guys are experts at diagnosing electrical issues. They told me it was a sensor and it would be $280 with parts and labor. I get a call the next day that the car is ready but the ABS light is still on, and that I would have to take it to a dealer to get fixed. Ok, I guess they couldn't help me, but then they still want the full $280! How on Earth is that ok? I pleaded with the manager Don to at least knock off some of the $140 they charged me in labor fees and he wouldn't budge. I feel ripped off! My mom is out $280 and the car has the same issue and these guys wouldn't even discount their labor rate for their misdiagnosis on the issue! BEWARE, Do yourself a favor and stay away from these crooks!

I've brought 2 vehicles to this shop, 98 dodge durango , 2006 chevy equinox... Both with issues beyond my capabilities of diagnosing.. They diagnosed both and gave a great detailed description of what was going on and what was needed to fix the concern. I would recommend auto electronics all day, great staff, great techs and quick...

The mechanics there know what there doing and do a good job at it. They have pretty quick service and they let u know what's going on with your car once they look at it. The parts are good priced, but the labor be real expensive

A few years back I brought a car here that no one could diagnose an electrical issue it was having, not even the dealer. They found the issue within 45 minutes and repaired my vehicle. Today, I came back to this establishment. My car's battery was draining and after visiting a few mechanics to no avail, I knew I had to come here. As soon as I arrived, I was greeted with a smile and the utmost professionalism. Within a reasonable timeframe, they identified and fixed my issue.

Crooks! I’ll never go there again. First they were late opening (25min). My light was in for Emissions and I had 3 was to fix it. I went there to get a 2nd opinion (Auto Zone said I need a brain box $175). They ran their diagnostic test for $72 and took 45 min to do this (I felt it was exaggerated for the results to come). They came back and says there’s good news and bad. The good news is I need Spark plugs and wires. The bad news is that I need catalytic converters on both sides for labor and parts $1600.00!! And they can do it and deduct the $72 from it. I paid the $72 and went to get a 3rd opinion...I went to Muffler shop on Independence and Madison and they said I only need Bank1 (drivers side catalytic converter). They did it for $250 and I passed the emissions the following week. Stay away from Auto Electronics! They are a bunch of arrogant crooks that will take advantage of you..shop around it will pay off! God Bless

HORRIBLE place. I go in for a battery replacement. They want to charge me $455! They have my car for 6.+ hours and yet still don't fix it (I was foolish I eventually come to my senses after they had my car between 8:30am-3:00pm). I inquire where they get their batteries from. He replies"Autozone or O'Reilly...". I LOOK UP BATTERIES there and the highest was $230.00! What was I paying additional money for?? This place is a clip joint. The technician "John", states after I inquire about this crazy price..."it's not our job to give u the best offer...". Need I say more folks...?

I have taken my vehicle to Auto Electronics a few times, and the quality of the work and professionalism of the employees have exceeded my expectations every time. They are always able to fix my vehicle quickly, and get me back on the road. Helen, who manages the front office, has always been very polite and helpful, I appreciate that she takes the time to explain the issues and cost to me. Helen is also bilingual, and I appreciate that this company & their employees value the importance of meeting all their customers needs. 10/10. Only place I’ll take my car.

My first time receiving service here, I'm okay with the work. Though a bit pricey, but I'm not an expert on what's need and what it should cost. So that being said, I'm happy I have restored power to my car😊windows and doors.

Sorry to hear some one said they, got ripped off. Hard to believe that. I have been coming here for years with great service, they fine the problem every time, with my cars. One time I had a electric short in a 1980s Cadillac, the battery would not hold power. Auto Electric . Found that someone has put a penny in my cigarette lighter out let and it made the battery die out, a old school move when someone rides in your car that does not like you or is jealous of you. Like putting sugar in your gas tank. But Auto Electronics, found the problem. Real pro,s .

I came here months ago to get my locks and windows fixed. They work like new again considering I have an older car model. I then returned last week because my alarm truck voltage was running low. My truck was not running the same due to an entirely different issue. They identified the problem and Jose the manager, the mechanic and the rest of the crew were very professional and very reasonable considering I came in stressed. I appreciate there still being genuine customer care service providers in Chicago. Overall it feels good to go to a place where people are genuine human beings who are experts in their craft.

Never again i go in cause my car keeps cutting off and they say its 100$ to do a diagnostic test which was okay so they say i need a battery and a computer $800 to fix we settle on $600 but they wanted to run more test i agree i get a text message saying now i owe $480 for testing which is ridiculous when i thought it was just 100$ and on top of that the same things was told to me the first test and now its $1100 to fix plus the $480. I even asked so if i get my own battery and do the valve cover gaskets its still gone be $1100 they said yes. Your best bet is to stay away they try to rip you off at all cost
