I needed my sideview mirror replaced after being careless. I called a few places and not only was Danielle the only person to actually answer, she was also reassuring and confident they could help. I came by the next day to get the car looked at, Danielle had a quote within 24 hours, and the part was delivered and installed within a week. Fantastic client service, I would recommend anyone coming here for service.

I recently visited South Loop Auto Repair because my tire pressure was low. Their team was very professional and quickly took care of the issue with great patience. The lady at the front desk was super friendly, making the whole experience smooth and pleasant. On top of that, the shop is close to my home, which is really convenient. It’s rare to find such excellent customer service these days! I will definitely come back. Highly recommend!

I initially contacted this shop for an estimate and was told they work on my type of vehicle. After waiting for days with no follow-up, I called back only to be told they don’t work on my type of vehicle after all. Why say you do, then leave me hanging without even the courtesy of a call to clarify or update me? I wasted days waiting for an estimate that was never going to come, and I had to reach out myself just to find that out. Extremely poor communication and disappointing customer service.

Unfortunately I had to change my 5 stars review. If you have time to waste in your life you can get your job done in this store. I received my car back after 5months later. Anthony gave one of his car to use. Every week when I called or text him, He said "next week or in 2 weeks". He used my goodwill on his business a lot. His team lifted up my car wrong and damaged my car from side bottom. When I went there to pick my car up , he said " I am sorry . let me fix. Could you bring next week and leave it for 2 days?" Even my new mirror cover came out in a day!I was so pissed after 5months. I stopped at that shop almost every week in 5 months. Every time was something else. The last time I was there was last month. I needed to get a copy of receipts, there was a customer who was really mad because they were wasting his time as well. I would really not recommend this shop service. If anyone needs record on how many months my car stayed, I can publish pic of the messages and documents.

I don’t want to write a whole essay of my experience, so I’ll try to be as concise but detailed as possible. I needed to get three areas of my vehicle repaired. Specifically, the rear passenger tail light, the passenger side mirror lamp cover and bulb, and the most damaged area, the passenger headlight and hood. This particular area was hit by a school bus 😒 so it wasn’t just the headlight that was damaged, as you’ll see in some of the photos. I went to three auto body shops in my area and SL Auto was the cheapest of the three. What’s better, I ended up getting a discount because I paid with cash. I scheduled the repair for Monday, 3/21/22 and was told that the car would be ready for pick up by Friday, 3/25/22, which was a reasonable timeline. Once I dropped the car off, I got a text confirming the drop off and a link to follow the progress of the work, which was scheduled to be completed by Friday at 3:06pm (I thought it was funny it included the time it would be completed by). Thereafter, I received daily texts at 9am regarding the progress. Friday arrives and I get the 9am text stating they were still on track to complete it that day but would contact me if something happened and the time was pushed back. Thankfully that didn’t happened and from the call I received from Chantel, the car was ready 2.5 hours before 3pm 😁. I did a quick walk around of the car with Keisha and quickly noticed that the side mirror was cracked 🤦🏾♀️😩. I indicated that it wasn’t cracked when I dropped it off, so it must have happened while in their care. They ended up ordering a replacement that day and replacing the cracked one free of charge on the morning of Wednesday, 3/30/22. Other than that, everything else looked GREAT! Like just drove it off the dealership lot GREAT! 😆 I had a great experience with SL Auto, despite the minor mishap with the side mirror. The price, receptionists, daily communication and repaired work were all great! They also vacuumed the inside of and washed my car. Thank you, South Loop Auto Service! 😁

I go to South Loop Auto Service 60 E. 23rd whenever I unfortunately need repairs. I say unfortunately because these accidents have not been my fault but I know who I can count on to get my vehicle back like I just walked off the show room floor. If you ever need repairs go to them & they will take care of you. Tell them I sent you… I promise you will be satisfied.

Last week my son had an unfortunate car accident, crashing the front driver's side fender to pieces on my Lexus ES 330. Even more unfortunate, about two months ago I decided to cancel my collision (I kept all required coverages of course) because my car - which is a 2004 model - is worth less than the annual premium I'd pay for collision. Even though I didn't have coverage, I asked my insurance company to give me a few names of their preferred body shops in my neighborhood and, as a result, I selected and hired South Loop Auto Services to do the work. So very glad I did! I met with Chatel the morning after the accident and she was a "boss," providing me with a detailed estimate on the spot, quickly ordering the needed part, and then coordinating the repair so I received my car back in less than 2 business days. Best of all, the body work was EXCELLENT and the final invoice came in under the estimate! Hooray for South Loop Auto Services and Chatel! I just love it when people do their jobs well.

I came to South Loop Auto on February 9, 2026, to order a mirror for my Genesis and worked directly with Anthony, the owner. From the beginning, the experience felt very disorganized. Communication was delayed, and the approach felt more reactive than proactive. He told me to come back the next day, February 10, for more information, but instead the work that could have been planned ahead was handled on the spot. I was told the part would be ordered and arrive within five business days, which should have been February 16. When I returned on that scheduled date, I was informed by the office staff that the mirror had never been ordered. This meant I had to wait another five business days, pushing the timeline to February 23. What was especially frustrating was that no urgency or solutions were offered at that time, such as expediting the part or exploring alternatives. When I contacted Anthony about the situation, he shifted the blame back to the shop and said if they didn’t order it, then they didn’t. He told me he would call me back, but I never received a follow-up. Now, another week later, the mirror still has not arrived, and I have requested a refund. I want to be transparent so others can set the right expectations. Based on my experience, this shop, at least when dealing with the owner, may lack organization and proactive communication, and delays with parts are possible. I do want to highlight Chatel and Danielle in the office. They were both extremely pleasant, professional, and provided excellent customer service throughout the process. Their attitudes and willingness to help stood out, and they made a frustrating situation much easier to deal with. They truly deserve recognition. Unfortunately, because of the leadership and overall experience, I’m not sure I will return.
