I rarely leave reviews, but please avoid buying a car here at all costs. Long story short, after we respectfully declined the extended warranties, the financing manager exxtremly pressured us for hours and even joked that we couldn’t use the restroom because we said no and more. On top of that, we later noticed issues with APR term (literally got ripped off:)) and we caught an attempt to include charges for items we clearly did not agree to purchase.

I’ve purchased many vehicles over the years, so I feel pretty well versed on the car buying process. I’m also in sales and customer service, so I have an acute eye for quality professionalism. This is exactly what I found at Hyundai Carlsbad. My salesperson, Randall Parker, was first class. I was shopping between several Hyundai dealerships across the county and Parker was the only salesperson that was following up in a professional manner and seemed to genuinely care that I found the right vehicle at the right price. He was always willing to go the extra mile for me whether it was retrieving information requested, hustling down the right inventory, or explaining rebates and financing nuances so I could be well informed. I highly recommend this dealership and I would absolutely give Parker a call to help you!

Apparently, having an 8am start time does not increase chances of getting out early and they knew I was waiting. 2 1/2 hour wait for tire rotation and inspection. I had to wait for my service advisor to check me in (ands was not present) and several cars were taken ahead of me. Waited 20 minutes for him and then got someone else to check me in. Service advisor could not help me with telling me or showing me how to precondition my battery. I thought that would be pretty basic information. Music for a waiting area didn’t seem appropriate, more for the employees to listen to than those in the waiting room. Not a good day for me.

Hello. Recently, I came in midday Friday n a Friday with an emergency issue with my 2018 Kona, and wasn’t sure if I’d even have the opportunity to be seen that day. Daniel attended to me right away, courteous and eager to be helpful, and even called a technician over to tge service office to take a look and see if and how best to accommodate me right away. Between them, Daniel was even able to negotiate a way that it could a little less than the initial estimate of time and cost. I was in and out within an hour, and so grateful, and truly pleased by the personal, sincere service and the ease of the experience… I’ve been for service several times, but Daniel stands out as a 10 out 10 among them all. I will make sure to come back (Daniel, don’t go anywhere!!!!) and only ask for him got my service needs in the future!! Thank you!!!

Purchasing the car was the typical dealership experience—slow, tedious, and far more time‑consuming than it needed to be. That alone would have been tolerable, but everything after the sale went downhill fast. I brought my brand‑new car home, and the next morning it wouldn’t start. The battery was completely dead and wouldn’t hold a charge. I contacted the sales representative, who assured me they would “get right on it,” but I never heard back. That evening I left a message for the dealership manager—no response. The next day I reached the sales manager, who promised an immediate follow‑up. Again, nothing. By the third day—yes, my brand‑new car was undriveable for three full days—I called again to express how unacceptable this was. Their solution was to tell me to push the SOS button in the car, essentially passing the problem off to Hyundai roadside assistance, which would have meant an even longer delay and flat‑bedding the car somewhere else. The complete lack of customer care, accountability, or basic respect was astonishing. This is not how a dealership should treat someone who just purchased a new vehicle.

I just finalized the purchase of our brand new car from Autonation Carlsbad Hyundai, and am extremely happy with the purchase and experience there. This dealership did not play any of those trite sales games - at all! I found a great price while comparing cars on Consumer Reports and they honored it immediately (unlike another dealership I visited right before this one, which I won't name, where you will get "Pow"ed for sure if you get my meaning.) They gave me a fair price for my trade and they did not put any "extras" on the car prior to sale and then tell you that you must pay for them and try to convince you that all the other kids (dealerships) are doing it (I'm telling you - stay aw"ay" from that other Hyundai dealer so you don't get "Pow"ed by them. What else can I say, Autonation Hyundai is much "Bedder" then they are and won't jerk you around. Our salesperson, Mitch, was very knowledgeable, helpful and a pleasure to work with, from start to finish. He was also very helpful and thorough when it came time for the walk-through of the vehicle at delivery as he really knows his product. I have bought too many vehicles in the past where the salespeople just don't seem to find it necessary to spend their time to educate themselves on what they are selling. Mitch was able to answer every question that we had without consulting anybody or anything. Parker was my initial point of contact, as well as getting our credit info taken, before handing us off to Sam in the finance department. Both of them were very helpful and answered all of our questions during the purchase and finance process. I am on disability, and my wife and I have 3 young children right now that we have adopted and everyone at the dealership worked hard to accommodate our difficulties. When we went in to finance yesterday to sign the doc's, I had a great deal of pain hit me from nowhere and we were forced to pause the closing paperwork process. They were not only understanding, but they even made a special appt time with us today so that we didn't have to keep the grandparents watching the kids too long while completing everything. Autonation Carlsbad Hyundai has gained a lifelong customer, and I highly recommend them for your next car purchase - ask for Mitch or Parker. Thanx again guys!

Process was smooth and fast. Marcel was friendly and definitely helped make the process easy. The only issue we have is with the side view mirror. We are scheduling an appointment to get it fixed. That was the only thing we really saw that needed closer attention given they do an inspection of the used vehicles. Apart from that everything else was went smoothly and did not take longer than it should have. A great buying experience.

If I could leave a lower score I would. I had problems with the finances department. And now the service department. I show up for a pre scheduled appointment to be told that my described problem can only be seen by a tech during the week. Information that would have been great before wasting time in the more. And despite me purchasing the car from them and the extra warranty, if my car needed to stay for work I wouldn't qualify for a loner or rental vehicle because the car is not a Hyundai. Theres no logic behind this.

Thank you for following up on my recent visit. While I appreciate the polite and professional demeanor of Vanessa and Niki, I left somewhat disappointed with the overall experience at the Carlsbad service center. Prior to my appointment, I had called several times and also emailed Vanessa with the Hyundai letter regarding the extended horn warranty and recall parts, including the part numbers listed. I specifically confirmed the parts would be in stock before bringing my car in. Unfortunately, after leaving my vehicle from 8 a.m. until after 2 p.m. (causing me to be late picking up my son), the horn was not replaced because the parts still needed to be ordered. That's 6 hours for an oil change. This was especially frustrating as this is the second time my horn has failed on this model. While I understand the failure itself is not the dealership’s fault, I had made every effort beforehand to ensure the parts would be available to avoid this exact situation. In addition, while my car was there, I was advised of over $1,000 in additional services, including a cabin air filter replacement I had already done myself two months ago. This gave me the impression that the focus was more on upselling than addressing the recall issue I had scheduled the appointment for. I truly value Hyundai and want to feel confident bringing my vehicle to the dealership for service. I hope this feedback helps highlight opportunities to better support customers who come in with recall or warranty concerns. Thank you for your time and attention.

Bought my first Hyundai Sante fe in Orange County back in 2007. Wow has customer service come a long way. I love having my newer Sante fe serviced at Auto Nation, Carlsbad. Been twice, Jessica was my first service rep to help me. Daniel this time. Both were great, making me comfortable and explaining all the details. Joe worked on my car and video the first time, Leo, this time. Love these videos! My car is returned to me spotless and running like a top. I like to tip all the service people with cash or avos from my tree, to show my appreciation. Five stars for the service dept. Not as impressed with the sales dept!

Very unprofessional. I dealt with a sales person named Mr. Grayson. I originally spoke with Mr. Grayson over the phone at 1:30PM on a Friday about a used vehicle that I intended to buy for my sister. I purposely asked if the car could he financed to help my sister with her credit. I live 80 miles away and didn’t want to waste my time. Upon arriving at this location at 6:30PM on the same Friday. The vehicle I came to look at had a dead battery. First and foremost, completely unprofessional. These sales associates had 5 hours to inspect the vehicle in question. I had to then proceed to call AAA for them to start the vehicle. After that, they informed me that the vehicle could not at all be financed due to the age of the vehicle. The following day, I received a call from this dealership. The vehicle can magically be financed. Really terrible experience, my sister and I will be filling a report with the Department of Consumers Affairs. No other person should have to experience what we experienced. I do want to note, Mr. Grayson was respectfully and cordial. Nothing against him personally.

Wasn’t expecting to get a car, I just wanted to test drive a used car they had. 2015 Honda fit 6 speed manual! So much fun I couldn’t go home without it. Purchased a new Santa Fe Hybrid and the whole process couldn’t have been easier. Marcel was great and he worked with us to find the right model and get us a great deal. He was great about following up by email and text throughout the process to make sure we were well taken care of without being overbearing. The actual buying process went smoothly. They were able to get the trim level and color we wanted on the lot same day. Paperwork went quickly- the price we saw was what we got and they didn’t try to upsell us on anything else. 2-14-2026 Update: My 2022 Tuson SEL was serviced professionally in a short time. It needed an alignment and an oil change. The service technician was honest, knowledgeable and worked with me in getting me in and out timely. They even washed my car. Thank you Pedro and Vanessa. ————————————————————————————- The service center at AutoNation Hyundai did well in caring for our vehicle. The staff and manger are friendly and informative. They show you what the recommendations that your auto needs and give options to choose from. They also gave us a loaner vehicle while we waited for our car to get fixed under warranty. Vanessa, Christian, Steve and Ramon all helped us over the last few months from service to warranty work and were excellent at their jobs in caring for our needs. I will continue to go here for our Hyundai service and repairs.
